I’m in “need” of some new eyeshadows and have been eagerly waiting to see swatches and read some reviews about CdP’s new offerings. The duos look like they’d be a good option for a less contrived, easy-going, springtime eye look. As for the Lip Luminizers, that is one of my favorite stylo-type formulas so I’m sure to be adding at least one. A couple of years ago, I purchased a drop dead gorgeous cream pink blush that was part of the holiday collection. It was so beautiful–delicate and dewy. I wonder if these new creams are the same formula.
I picked up Purity and the Peach blush and enjoy both. Personally, I love the CdP formula and how it allows you to build the intensity of the pigmentation. I know a lot of people want the immediate punch of pigment and then spend forever blending it out; I prefer to build up instead of blending it endlessly. As far as I can tell, the blush formulation is the same – I missed out on that item a few years ago, but that was what they referenced when promoting the new line. I still regret not getting that blush when I could.
Thanks for the reply, Lea. 🙂 I’m with you when it comes to building up rather than blending out. I also like a bit of translucency to my blush and so, if these are anything like the holiday blush, they should be perfect for me.
I have Purity and Serenity and loooove them!! They are very ethereal and subtle so if you want a ton of color you will have to build these up quite a bit. They blend so well together. It’s very easy to get a quick daytime look. It doesn’t take much effort at all. I usually stay away from color, but the purple and blue hues are stunning! They knocked it out of the park in my opinion.
If you like your pigment on the softer side, the shadows colors are pretty, but I have a Cle de Peau quad, the one in brown (probably their most pigmented one), and my oily lids just eat thru the pigment until it blends into one, even with primer, so won’t be buying anymore. Not impressed with the lip swatches. The cream blushes look better but not for $60, and don’t like pot packaging and looks like a very small amount of product.
I really love CdP but as yet have not been lured in by their eye shadows – they don’t seem as outstanding as their concealers or highlighters.
Well now I know I need Nars Thessalonika, as sure does seem to be a far superior, yet similar pairing of shades as Purity!
However; these lip luminizers have my attention. Curious to hear how long they last while worn. They DO look super moisturizing and juicy! Esp./ Raspberry Snapple!
Hi Nancy,
I’ve worn Lip Luminizers for years. They don’t last very long as they are very emollient and I tend to reapply as often as I would a lipgloss (every couple hours). They do leave behind a bit of stain though, so your lips aren’t completely naked in between applications.
They are super comfortable on the lips. I own multiple, multiple shades. Definitely worth checking out.
This is timely for me — I’ve been looking for a peachier eyeshadow and recently spotted a candidate in the Cle de Peau permanent range. I’ll be interested in these reviews, as for the cost they have to be really excellent.
Started to fall in love with those blush swatches but then I scrolled back up and looked at the prices – nevermind! LOL
Those blushes look nice! Are the shadows supposed to be sheer? Also, Raspberry Snapple? WTF…
Purity, and Harmony Eye shadow duos are my favourites here!!! They look so soft and pretty <3
The duos look really pretty, but somehow I think that the quality is going to be a tad average for the price.
Oh my beloved Cle de Peau!
I love these Japanese style blushes and shadows that are buildable so you can go sheer to dramatic.
Calm & Pale Fig are callin’ my name!
(Eagerly awaiting Christine’s reviews!!!)
I don’t have any interest in Cle de Peau (the quality never seems to be there for the color cosmetics), but I’m LOLing at the fact that a prestige French brand has a lip color named “Raspberry Snapple.” That old staple of French cuisine.
Clé de Peau is Japanese and is owned by Shiseido. But French or Japanese, I also got a chuckle out of Raspberry Snapple. It’s one of my favorites summertime refreshers when poured over lots of crushed ice 🙂
Well, so is Nars, now. Shiseido, but not Japanese. Shiseido is a major brand umbrella. I believe CdP is mfgd in Japan, and has influenced Lisa E’s take, for Lancome. Not that well, mind you, but I believe it is an influence.
I swatched some of these powders in my local Nordstrom and they are beautiful!
I checked out those cream blushes on Nordstrom.com when the first put them on the website but they are just too overpriced. There are beautiful cream blushes for way less I can’t justify the purchase.I would rather have one of the Tom Ford Soleil ones they have different tones in the cream and are beautiful I have the bronze one from last year and I hit pan a while ago!I have wanted the TF Soleil pink for awhile.Waiting for the Sephora VIB Rouge spring discount.
