Oooh, those pink lipsticks and glosses look really pretty! My lip collection is lacking pinks, hope there are dupes or my wallet is going to be crying. That illuminating powder is too white for me, but that white reminds me of Becca Pearl. I can see an irridescent pink in that Illusion D’Ombre, wonder if it can be used to transform other shades, kind of like UD Roadstripe, except Roadstripe has bluish sheen

❤️ it all! The IDO for me is like a better formula of ColourPop Gecko! Accidentally bought at site but kept. Now seeing the highlighter I will def be grabbing with all lippies and the quad! Thanks!

No nail polishes for Spring 2016? The highlighter haven’t impressed me so far..
OT: The nail polish Sugar Dune by Tom Ford is permanent now with number 39, I noticed is still considered LE here in the website.

I am looking forward to your review of the highlighting powder. Do you know if this is Chanel exclusive or will it come to Neiman Marcus and Nordstrom? I want that powder.

OMG! Why did they have to go and put out a pretty highlighter! I love the little pearls embossed in it. This probably is way fair for my skin. But, you know if there is anyway I can pull it off, I’m going to get it! I can’t wait for the review though. Eek, $70. I’m really liking the illusion d’ombre and the glosses too and Chanel can do a good gloss. But, they can totally muck it up too. Man. my wallet was not prepped for this! Is this collection going to places like Nordstrom?

Gillian Avatar

I like the highlighter, it looks pretty, but I’ll wait for your review before making my mind up as to whether I would consider getting it or not. I also like the look of the Babiole Glossimer and the Indemodable Rouge Allure. I’m sure that I don’t need anymore lip products though so I’ll likely not get them. 🙁

Dies. This is too pretty and unique to pass up! So glad to see swatches! Thank you! I shop most often direct from design houses and I accidentally bought Iridescent IDO. It was on the site already. I was not aware it was still in basket when I finished. It’s very pretty! Like a better version and formula of the color Gecko ColourPop supershock eyeshadow. A bit like Hope too. Now I want to get the illuminator and lippies with the quad! I’m waiting to see if you will be reviewing the new Laura Mercier Pallette. Their are some similarities. I’m leaning toward Chanel. Last year they took my wallet on two releases. This one is killing me. So pretty! (Bought a second Rouge Noir Eye Khol pencil and Iridescent came with it. It arrived today totally forgot)

Highlighter looks interesting, the eyeshadow is meh, and the lipstick seems very springy. That clear glossimer is very dime-a-dozen, I feel.

I just shelled out $70 for the Chanel blush from the Spring collection, and now I need this $70 highlighter! I really hope it comes to Nordstrom, I prefer to buy my make up from them.

Pami Avatar

Everything is soooo pretty! I love the highlight powders blended together, it’s like my perfect shade, though it looks like the eyeshadow could do double duty as a highlighter too, and the color looks very similar. Though it doesn’t look very pigmented, it might make a pretty wash or an interesting “top coat”. Looking forward to the reviews.

How’s the white highlighting powder compare to the Guerlain white pearl highlighting compact powder in 2015 winter collection (neige et merveilles)?

Bonnie Avatar

I just bought this two days ago!! I would’ve waited for your review but I wasn’t sure if you were going to get this or not! Its just so beautiful! Can’t believe how pricey this and the LE blush were – both way more than if normally spend on one item (that’s not a palette), but I’m sure I’ll be using them for years so I think it’s worth it.
Christine I have a question for you. Do you use your fingers to swatch gorgeous items like this for the more opaque swatch? I have an IG account that I swatch things for, but I can’t bring myself to rub my fingers in these two $70 LE products for swatches. I just want to use my softest brushes with them, you know? Is there a certain way you swatch things so as to not damage the embossing on them, or to make sure they don’t develop that awful hardened, shiny surface that can develop on products from finger swatching?

Christine Avatar

Hi Bonnie,

I often use natural brushes for powder products and synthetic ones for cream. I usually use brushes that I don’t like and won’t use on my eyes/face, since I need a lot of them! I always touch everything with my fingertips at some point, though, as it’s hard for me to get a good feel for something otherwise. I don’t personally care about embossing or patterns, so it doesn’t matter to me if they’re gone.

Bonnie Avatar

Thank you Christine! I have two questions – how do you get such opaque swatches from using brushes and no primer? I mean that may be a rhetorical question lol. I’m just genuinely curious as it seems like finger swatching stuff yields the most opaque swatches.
Also, do you find the after touching things with your fingers some develop that hardened, shiny surface? I always wash my hands well before touching any product (and don’t use any moisturizer prior to touching either) and I find it still happens sometimes. This drives me crazy. Does it happen to you, and do you know how to prevent or lessen this from happening?

Christine Avatar

If you think about how much eyeshadow you get on your brush to apply to a tiny part of your eye, but if you just take that amount of spread it across an area about 5-10x that size, that might be why? I apply makeup to my eye without primer and can get opaque color there, so the arm isn’t too different, but it is a bigger area so you would want to be consistent with the amount of product you used!

They can, though I only have this happen on a few types of products, like Tarte blushes, which happen with a brush or fingertips.

I have been contemplating buying the illuminating powder. It looks like Pixie dust. I have so many highlighters that I am not sure. I live so far from a Chanel counter. Is it similar to Guerlain’s Meteorites Perles Clair? Is it more glittery? I love the compact in itself seeing I am a pearl wearing fanatic. Thanks for the swatches.

aditi Avatar

That powder is breathtaking! Chanel do these so well. The pattern actually looks like glistening pearls. Unfortunately i’m not biting the bullet this time around as I have a new baby and all I am thinking is how many diapers I can buy for $70! I did get their highlighter last year and I am still not tired of it so I think I can talk myself out of getting this one:)

Hi there, I saw others commenting on other posts that they are having similar issues. For me, your Tom Ford post loaded fine, but again on this one – I’m seeing faces where there should be swatches. Not *your* face. They look like user avatars/icons
