Well, I’ll await your review for final judgement, but this looks disappointing…I was really hoping it would perform well, since it looks like it could have been a great neutral option for us cooler toned people, but the darker sparkly shades look under pigmented. And, unless they look different in real life, I don’t see the point in including two frosty white shades? Maybe they’ll miraculously look better on eyes…
IDK, I like it’s the rare cool-toned palette, but the shades look like a mixed bag, and a couple look like dupes of each other. $ 42 seems pricey given the limited colors and mixed quality, have a feeling it will be discounted later .
This looks promising! I feel like Buxom’s eyeshadows are more underrated than most, but I’ve been pretty consistently pleased with their quality. Diamond Darling is a fantastic browbone highlighter for anyone ultra pale that wants their highlight to stand out. I also like that this seems a little more cooler in tone than the usual (warm) neutral palettes.
On an aesthetic note, I really love the LE palette design! It is so clearly winter/holiday, but without getting overly cutesy (which is nice too, but not when it means sacrificing function for form).
What is with all of the Springy palettes in the fall, geez. This is so plain jane and boring. The problem is that they need to stop releasing a new palette every 2 seconds and give us time to love the one we have then BOOM hit us with a nice one every other year or 18 months to keep us on our toes. This rapid release does nothing for those of us who have all the dupes, etc.
Could not agree more! It’s hard to feel excited about Holiday releases when we just had Fall releases, and this is all just the same stuff we’ve been getting all year long, in a “holiday” package.
No offense to anyone who likes it, but I personally find this extremely boring. The quality looks “meh,” as well.
Totally agree Rachel
Amen to that statement 🙂
Gee, I really hope these work better in actual lid application than how some of these swatches appear. YIKES!!!
I hope that this scores at least moderately well. I have used other Buxom shadows and actually purchased all but one of their last release. I love that it is mostly cool toned and I can handle slightly less pigmentation as sometimes it is easier to blend out or add additional product when they aren’t so pigmented. What I really don’t want to see is glitter dropping all over my face all day. That is a deal breaker for me. I will await your reviews.
Maybe. A tad underperforming, by the looks of it. But these shades are my idea of a nude palette. Jetsetter fared poorly as a single, but maybe it and trendsetter can work as crease shades. Being older, I don’t always hate/discount under pigmented shades. We’ve got mufe and Viseart for pigment. If anybody remembers which buxom shade S had as a 100 pointer…bronzy, Let me know. Suspect I gave it away, bec it stung like the devil. Too bad this won’t be up on cosdna yet. I think there is a kjh no-no ingredient yet to be discovered…and it was in that buxom metallic.
I think the color you are referring to is Mink Magnet. That’s the one I have in sample size and it is bronzy.
Ooh, thanks.
Hi there! If I’m recalling correctly, I believe it was Mink Magnet that they gave away as a 100 point perk. Since they’ve included it here, it sounds like you’ll want to be careful. I hope this helps! 🙂
Yeah, will def swatch in person. Back then, IIRC, I had active psoriasis in both lids. It’s pretty damped down now. Every once in a while, you find out something not only relevant, but stunning on cosdna. I’m thinking especially of Wwendy. I hope you are reading, if not commenting. The MUFE water blend foundation uses Benzyl salicylate, which gets a 7, top rating on the bad end for safety. Benzyl salicylate is a known immune disrupter/toxicant. It’s prob fine for people with no immune issues, but Nancy, Wendy, etc. should stay tf away. I got a generous sample for my reunion, but there’s no way I’d buy it. My minor immune stuff…multiple systems, including skin and nails, crank if I get a minor virus. Caveat emptor, as they say. Thanks you guys.
Yeah, Jetsetter in this palette concerns because my single was almost buttery in texture and pigmented.
I would mind seeing more split pans in the future though.
kjh, it was MinK Magnet that was the mini Sephora perk, I have it.
I’m eyeballing this, but I do think several shades are too samey. The two frosty whites, the two taupey colors and idk that I would need a matte and sparkly black.
I’m a lover of all things neutral, so I really love the colors, but quality looks sub-par. So disappointing! That palette they had of jewel tones for fall looked like amazing quality! I wonder why it’s so hard for brands to duplicate good quality.
It is such a good idea to put 2 colours in the normal size pan. Would Love buxom to make more of these and make them permanent. So one Could buy more Different colours and Save space. And maybe you have a Chance to hit pan if you only have half of the amount.
Easy pass.
I like the Buxom formula…but there’s nothing “fire” about this to me.
Light & Frost would have made more sense. 😉
Making the container and tray a different color from the other palettes hurts the customizable-ness of these palettes. If I wanted to swap out one of these dual pan pieces with an existing palette, it wouldn’t match. And you can’t add any into this one and match.
I was prepared to love this little gem, but the swatches didn’t wow me at all.
Not my cup of tea.
Looks like a 50/50 between ‘yay’ and ‘meh’.
My first thought was why in the world would I want a palette with two shimmer/glitter whites?
As some of these palettes are being released it makes me wonder.if the companies are doing any consumer research at all.
Call me silly, but shouldn’t a palette called Fire & Frost actually have some firey tones in it, and maybe some frosty blues, instead of being more neutrals?
Some of these shades switched looking so similar to each other! I think a couple of these would look the same when worn which isn’t my cup of tea for a palette. Overall it is nice though!
A few look disappointing but I’m loving the neutral color scheme! Even a few cool shades!
Unpopular opinion time!
I love the look of this palette, it’s one of the few fall releases that has grabbed my attention. The first two colours are very similar, but I’m loving the rest, at least most of them. Plus that packaging, YASSSSSSSS! Anybody know if/when Sephora Canada will be dropping it, I wanna get my hands on it ASAP!
