Bite Beauty Maple Collection is a Canada-exclusive release that consists of five Matte Creme Lipsticks and a new shade of Agave Lip Mask (in Maple). As a heads up, Mulled Maple is the same as Black Cherry (confirmed by Bite Beauty as well as from swatching both myself) from the Frozen Berries collection (U.S. release). Full reviews to come!

Big thanks to Julie over at Swatch & Review for helping me buy this collection! 🙂

I went to my local (Canadian) Sephora and they were all there on display. I was so excited about the exclusiveness of being Canadian but when i checked out all the colours, they all seemed so dupe-able (to me). I didn’t buy any of them, i just didn’t let the hype overtake my common sense…(i HATE when i’m being sensible!!!). Curious to read your reviews.

Vero Avatar

I agree that they totally seem dupable , but what did it for me was that I really like the formula of Bite lipsticks. I’m going in for a second one tomorrow, probably. Screw sensibility! 😀

Yay I’m so excited for these! Happy you got your hands on them for review, too! The only one that I didn’t get/ hasn’t gone up on Sephora.ca yet (from my experience so far) is Sugared Maple. But I’ll definitely buy it when it’s released 😀

So we seriously won’t be able to get these in the states? I don’t understand how that is a good marketing technique for Bite Beauty.

Miel Avatar

Well, Bite originated as a Canadian company (I think it’s still based in Toronto) so I saw this as sort of an homage to its roots. Moreover, they *did* release a collection in parallel with this (Frozen Berries) that is a U.S. exclusive. I really like the idea. It’s so rare Canada gets something exclusive. 🙂

Meghan Avatar

I agree – Americans seem to get many more releases from so many brands (Lorac and Ulta exclusive releases come to mind). I’m glad they’re providing a Canadian-only release! Even if it is in conjunction with a release that isn’t for us 🙂

So glad you were able to get your paws on these!! I was eyeing Mulled Maple, but since it’s the same as Black Cherry, then no need. I was also looking at Sugared Maple to see if worth the trouble of buying or just duping it. Did you also get the Lip Mask?

Rah Avatar

Thanks for previewing this! I’m going to Canada next weekend and looking forward to picking these up! I’m in love with bite Beauty.

I’m lovin’ Braised and Sugared Maple! Like others, I’ll be very interested in seeing the Dupe List for these! I will say this though, if I lived near the Canadian border, I would have to go on a shopping adventure at one of their Sephora’s. But considering how many times those in Canada have been either shut out from buying LE stuff or going through so much trouble to come to the States for brands or items not sold there, I am happy to see Canadians having something exclusively theirs for a change.

I went in to my local sephora asking about these and they didn’t even know what I was talking about.
I guess I’ll have to keep checking in every once in a while. I do wish that the sephora employees followed the blogs though.

Lisa Avatar

Or at least we’re aware of other brands that the Sephora website carries. I went into a store in Montreal asking if they carry Becca and they had no idea what I was talking about.

Vero Avatar

We have two Sephoras only, unfortunately, and one of them is smaller and carries a more limited selection of brands. Maybe that was the reason? But no, since I bought a l’Occitane Shea Cleansing Oil from the larger one and the consultant I spoke to didn’t even know about the product and I had to describe it to her. It was a relatively hyped-up product, if I remember correctly, so she should have known about it.

Anna Avatar

Thank you so much for reviewing these! Mulled Maple looks uneven. Sugared Maple doesn’t seem to provide as full coverage as I would expect. But I’m totally longing for Braised Maple based on your lip swatch. Crossing my fingers for a good U.S. dupe!

Lisa Avatar

I really like that Canadians get a special release. I really like candied maple. But kind of off topic… Did it occur to anyone why a maple release in the middle of summer? Maple season officially starts beginning of spring, so that makes sense. Or why not wait until fall? Just curious ☺️

The collection is inspired by Canadian autumn and the changing colors of the leaves. The colors of the collection are actually spot on with the way it looks here! 🙂

Elena Avatar

No “Maple Syrup” or “Maple Glazed Beaver Tail”? C’mon Bite!!! (cheesy, I know. Proud Canadian here. No joke, I’d buy any cosmetic item called Beaver Tail.)
In all seriousness, love the concept, but they don’t look matte or exceptionally original. Although that agave lip mask-thingie is coming home with me, no question. It’ll be my first Bite product & see how it works out from there.

Jen Avatar

Aww, Julie is a friend of mine and fellow Toronto-based beauty blogger. So great of her for sending you these lippies and of you to give her a shout-out! I bought Braised Maple and Candied Maple and love them both! xo

Kimberly Avatar

I splurged and got the whole collection yesterday. They are AMAZING! Love the formula and the pigmentation, and the maple scent just makes me long for Autumn. I know I’ll be loving these through the fall season with some of my orange, rust, olive green, and brown toned clothing. I’m sure if you really worked hard, you could find some similar colours, but honestly, they’re quite unite. I especially find the Braised Maple to be a shade that I haven’t seen before (and I’m a lippie girl with a large collection). Even if I could find a dupe, would it have that tantalizing Maple scent and flavour? I don’t own a lot of Bite lippies, but these ones made me splurge.

Terri Avatar

I managed to get all except the Sugared Maple. I’m still stalking sephora.ca, but I haven’t seen it in stock yet. It either sold out in 30 seconds, or it was never available online! And I don’t live anywhere near a Sephora, so in store isn’t an option for me.

The four I managed to snag are amazing! I think Braised Maple is my favourite too. Such a beautiful, brownish warm red.

Denise Avatar

They do! Not so much when you try to smell the stick as when it’s applied and on the lip. It’s not overpowering in my opinion.

Kimberly Avatar

Unfortunately Sephora.ca doesn’t ship to the US and vice versa… so Canadians can’t get Frozen Berries, and Americans can’t get the Maple Series. It’s kind of nice to have the exclusives though. Both look beautiful for Fall. I’ve tried all of my Maple ones now and adore them, but going to try wait until September to start wearing them on a regular basis. That Maple scent is amazing!
Does the Frozen Berries series smell and taste like berries?

Vero Avatar

I was just at my local Sephora today, picking up some goodies with a gift card when I spotted these and remembered seeing this sneak peek and a few swatches, so I knew I was going to get one. I love Bite Beauty lipsticks and have three of their double-ended minis. It was a tough choice between Braised Maple and Mulled Maple, but Braised won out by a hair. I might just go back tomorrow and pick up the Mulled anyway 😉
