Sneak Peek: Benefit Cheeky Sweet Spot Box O' Blushes Photos & Swatches

Benefit Cheeky Sweet Spot Box O’ Blushes

Benefit Cheeky Sweet Spot Box O’ Blushes ($36.00 for 1.08 oz.) includes six powder blushes and a cream highlighter–all shades from Benefit’s permanent line-up in a metal tin. A few of these I haven’t tested in a long time, so now seems like a good time to re-test and re-review (to update swatches, photos, dupes, and all that jazz!). I had actually re-photographed my permanent Box O’ Powders a few months ago but haven’t had time to test all of them yet, so this palette is quite timely! I bought mine at Sephora, but it is also available at ULTA last I saw.

It seemed like a lot of readers were interested in this, and in general, I think the texture is consistent with the full-sized versions, but I found the color of Bella Bamba and CORALista to be different in the palette compared to my standalone versions, with CORALista being very different and Bella Bamba more “within variation” that you might expect over the years and the like (though they’re still noticeable different to me). Aside from the inconsistencies in color on those two shades, all six powder blushes seem promising. Here’s a quick preview of the palette with a full review to come…

Madison, you might want to check out Benefit’s “Hot 2 Trot!” kit at Sephora. The kit includes a full-sized Bella Bamba and a deluxe sample of Cha Cha Tint.
HTH 🙂

From what I’ve seen/heard from their presentations on the home-shopping channel (I forget which one…), the brands “philosophy” is that the warmer tones denote “youthfulness”, and a “healthy glow”, thereby making them more universal. However, that has been the reason I keep passing on them, because I don’t know how they’ll look on me. I love how they look in the pan, and to be able to pick up the 4 shades I’ve always been drawn to (Corallista & Bella Bamba have never caught my eye) for the price, and a fair amount of product, it is tempting…

Carrie Avatar

And silly me thought that cool toned colors like baby-pink could be seen as youthful too!

The overall warmth of their color selection, and the way almost everything they make is scented is why I usually skip them.

I do like how the Benefit Brow Bar does my eyebrows though, at least!

Donna N Avatar

This looks like a really nice set, especially if you don’t have any of the Benefit box powders—since I already own 5 of the 6, I think I’ll pass on this one.

Christine Avatar

I like Benefit blushes more than Tarte’s (generally speaking), though Tarte’s palette is more matte/less shimmery. It also has more medium shades, so they will show up on most skin tones. Blushes like Benefit’s Sugarbomb are more like highlighters on medium and darker complexions.

Quinctia Avatar

I thought that a bit, too, but I still have a lot of the angly bits left in the shape of my powder, and I think that makes the light hit it differently, too. Even with the overspray gone. So I think the fact the permanent one isn’t flat made my brain think it looked more different.

Karen Avatar

Im soooo excited about this one!! I bought it online on Thursday, can’t wait for it to arrive! The only thing I really dislike is the packaging.. But everything else makes me happy! I only ever had a delux sample of Bella Bomba, so this is fantastic, considering each separate box blush in Canada costs close to 40$, this is a great value. Looking forward to your review!

Aline Avatar

I just got the Hourglass palette, so I’m set for blushes. I’m surprised the palette is so huge. Things get large tend to go in a drawer and get forgotten.

Natalie Avatar

Hmmm… Sugarbomb and the new Coralista look pretty similar, and I think I prefer the old version, but still, my interest has been piqued! This is too good of a value! I might get it, actually. Quick question: is Rockateur matte now?

Stephanie Avatar

I have 4 of these colors, all except Dandelion and Hoola. I didn’t like Dandelion when I had it and Hoola is too orange for me, so this is an easy pass. I can’t believe how different Coralista is in the palette! I much prefer the permanent shade.

StrangeOne Avatar

If I get the nars Blush Set and this one as well I’ll have so many blushes. More than I would know what to do with. :S Can’t decide. I haven’t tried benefit blushes so this is an excellent place to begin.

Amanda Avatar

I’m seriously not interested in this palette. The only Benefit blush that is flattering on me is Rockateur, and I have that one in boxed form. Most of the others I find too shimmery for me, Watt’s Up pulls ashy, and Hoola is not even early dark enough to use as anything but a face powder for me. I understand why some might be excited but for me personally, not a thrilling launch.

Amara Avatar

eh. i hate that packaging so if i got this i’d pop them in a z palette right away. but i think i can skip.. i have rockateur and dandelion full size and the mini versions of hoola and coralista. plus a couple of the samples of watts up.

Alex Avatar

Just as I was about to lay some hands on a Hoola bronzer and a Dandelion blush this palette comes out. I think that it will be so useful for travelling (unless it’s heavy..). I think the only difficult thing now will be choosing between this or the NARS set..

Helene Avatar

I only have Hoola, so I’m thinking of maybe getting this. I don’t mind the packaging being on the big side, i’m not planning on carryin it around with me.
I also really want the Hourglass blush trio, so I have some thinking to do when it comes to the blush department.

Helene Avatar

That happens, I get annoyed at things (all the time) without really being able to explain why. It can be how something feels when touched or just how it looks, but it’s nothing major.
I am leaning toward the Hourglass blushtrio, by the way. It feels more unique, and I can buy Benefit blushes anytime, thoug at a higher cost.

Elena Avatar

Will be getting this! I only have 1 full and 1 small Corallistas, so this is like getting all new shades. Christine, do you think it’ll be easy to depot this? I I had very little problems with NYX cardboard palettes, but curious if this one will be manageable. The circus looking packaging thing has got to go.

cayleighs Avatar

I’ve just started getting into doing foundation and blush…I think this would be a great set to get started with blushes! Thanks for the preview!

Rachel R. Avatar

Everything looks really pretty. The bronzer is too dark for me. Coralista looks so much more yellow than the permanent box swatch.

I ordered the Tarte palette, I think I might just pass on this one.

MC Avatar

I am wondering, which one between this set and the Hourglass Blush Palette would you recommand the most? I’m considering getting myselft a blush palette this season, but I can’t make a decision.

I’m looking forward the review you’ll write about it! 🙂

Christine Avatar

What’s your skin tone, MC? Hourglass blushes are a lot less shimmery, but they look very similar on my skin tone (medium/NC30), so I don’t LOVE it for that reason. The quality is there, however. Benefit’s blushes are a little more differentiated on me, but they’re all similarly subtle like Hourglass on my skin tone. Hourglass’ packaging is a bajillion times better.

MC Avatar

I have a light skin tone with yellow undertone. The new application of Sephora says i’m 2Y07.

Are the Hourglass Blush Made for lighter or darker skintone?

Jessica T Avatar

This is a great value. I love their boxed blushes and powders. I already own at least half of these though do I won’t be purchasing. I also was looking at this today in Sephora and although the tin is cute for holiday it would annoy me all year round. It was quite clunky.

Cat Avatar

Wow. It looks like I’ve made a terrible decision in ordering this set. =( I guess I’ll be returning it. I already have Luminous from the Hourglass set or that would be more appealing. Hmpft. What to do?

Cat Avatar

If CORALista were true to color, I’d probably keep it. As it is, I already have the original Bella Bamba (and love it), so…. :-/

I’m thinking about picking up two MUG blushes. I have some of their eyeshadows and really like them, and you gave the two blushes I’m interested in an “A” so they seem like great choices. I was going to pick up Secret Admirer the last time I ordered from MUG but it was sold out at that time. Not anymore!

I just want to thank you for providing swatches and reviews for so many products and brands. Seriously, I appreciate the work you do.

Toni Avatar

I do! I wore it all summer and got tons of compliments on my glow when I did. I think it’s a universal shade. I don’t always like having to apply it from a stick, but it is very blendable. I have been using theBalm’s Cindy-Lou Manizer since I got it this week and it is much more subtle (color and amount of shimmer) on my skin tone in comparison.

Chelsea Avatar

Do you think these could possibly be taken out somehow(depotted though its not in a pot… Haha) and transferred to like a z palette? Love this set but packaging is kind of horrible! Lol 🙂 looking forward to the full review!

Marisa Avatar

I think I might purchase this! I’ve been wanting to try out Hoola and Rockateur anyway, and this is such a great value. Plus I’m not very into bright blushes.

Christine Avatar

Hourglass’ blushes all kind of look the same on, which is something that Benefit’s does to a degree (but not as much). Benefit’s palette is really shimmery, and Tarte’s is more matte. I don’t like Tarte blushes that much personally. If you like a lot of shimmer, the Benefit palette might be better, but if you prefer really subtle finishes/color, Hourglass.

Codename Duchess Avatar

How old are your fullsized boxes of Coralista and Bella Bamba Christine? I’m not sure about Bella Bamba, but I’m fairly certain Coralista has been tweaked since it was first released. I had an old sample of Coralista that I got from Sephora ages ago that I loved enough to want to purchase it in its full size and was surprised by how different the box I tested in store was from my sample. It lacked the pink undertone I loved in my sample and looked more like your swatch from the palette than your swatch of your full sized blush.

Kimberlee Avatar

I already have Coralista and Dandelion (Georgia also) but I guess I can justify buying this since the shades are different than the box o’ powders 😉 Thanks for swatching these Christine!

Kim Avatar

Thanks for the swatches! I had high hopes for this but I think it will all look the same on my skintone (NC42). Christine just wondering if you think the Tarte blush palette would better for my skin tone? I need a blush set this holiday 🙂

Ashlee Avatar

As soon as you posted the picture on Pinterest, I freaked out. I bought it Friday night. I own the regular Coralista and Dandelion, but really wanted to try Bella Bamba, Sugarbomb, and Hoola. So far I’m really happy with the purchase. I even like the little Watt’s Up compact… I’d only ever seen it in the twist-up tube sample, which I find difficult to use because it breaks under pressure. You’re dead on about the tin box. It’s rather clunky. I figure I’ll depot and give it to my friend’s little girls with some samples to play with.

I stalk Sephora and other makeup sites and I still end up finding out the best information here, thank you!

Grace Avatar

Thanks for sneak peek! I look forward to your full review. Judging from these, I think I will end up passing on this afterall now that I see these swatches. I already have the full size Sugarbomb, and feel that aside from Dandelion and Hoola, the rest will more or less resemble it since Sugarbomb can be buildable with colour. I also have the deluxe sample of Watt’s Up, and I don’t know if it’s supposed to be like that, but it’s very hard and doesn’t transfer well except a ton of glitter. Passed it to my sis who doesn’t use it either (she prefers Highbeam). SInce most of these blushes finish with a shimmer.. wish they didn’t include the Watt’s Up and put another blush in it instead.

_An_ Avatar

Yay, thank you for these swatches!

I don’t own any Benefit blushes yet and this box set is a really great value, but I don’t know if I’m that excited to get it. I don’t wear bronzer much so that’s a wasted spot for me.

Liz Avatar

haha, well, my 14 year old sister is getting this as well as that book of shadows that UD re-released earlier this year (the one that had the speaker in it) for christmas – clunky packaging galore! Luckily she doesn’t have a ton of make up yet so I really don’t think she’ll have any storage issues.
But on a different note, is it me or do Sugarbomb and PEACHalista look very similar swatched?
I picked up one of those for myself as well as I don’t own any benefit blushes, but the one I’m most curious about, Dallas, is unfortunately not included..

Daisy Avatar

I have never owned any of these and not much in high end makeup so these seemed really tempting at first. But looking at the images here they seem so very muted. Makes me wonder what I was fussing over. Idk, it’s a good price for so many colors and so much product. Idk, my Milani blushes are so much more pigmented or bright. :/

Benefit is probably the only brand I haven’t tried. Nothing has ever drawn me in orbl peeked my interest. I think this might be a good first buy. Are there any other products they make that are good? I’ve heard of a highlight/luminzer stick called watts up, are you familiar? Any good?
Thanks

Colleen Avatar

I really wish they would have thrown Hervana or Dallas in here, but I’m excited nonetheless. I don’t own any of these so this is a killer deal for me to try them all at once!

Lucy Avatar

I’m really tempted by this one. I dont have any benefit blush and are a NC15 so warm light/sheer shades are totally my kind of blush. If instead of hoola they had put Dallas, and maybe hervana or Georgia in place of watts up I would be totally sold (this coralista looks prettier to me)
