Sneak Peek: bareMinerals GEN NUDE Radiant Lipsticks Photos & Swatches

bareMinerals GEN NUDE Radiant Lipstick ($20.00 for 0.12 oz.) is supposed to have a creamy, hydrating formula with medium coverage and a “balmy shine.” There are 20 shades, which you’ll find swatched below (don’t ask why on earth I thought it was a smashing idea to swatch 20 lipsticks on top of a bajillion palettes this month). I hope to review these, but I’m not sure on the timing as I need to start reviewing the palettes/kits I’ve posted recently first.

hmmm interesting. These are slightly disappointing. They look more of a lip balm to me so I’m not sure if these would work on my skin tone without making me look ashy except for the darker ones BUT at least the liquid gen nudes work!!

Ok, is it just me, or do 10 of these look all the same, like 10 shades of zombie lips??? I like Queen, reminds me of the Revlon Lip Butters. Not sure how you can call Posh a nude, but it’s a nice 90s brown. Also like a few of the midtone shades, but the pale nudes look scary.

Super disappointing that the company’s definition of “nude” is 9 barely different concealer type colours for lighter skin tones. On that principle alone it’s an automatic skip. Out of 20 shades, there is only one colour for deeper complexions. Is that some kind of “this would automatically adjust to the unique PH balance of your lips, so it would look nude on everyone who isn’t not pale” shtick? Aren’t we past this? Poor form. It’s as if Bareminerals forgot that one person’s 90’s grunge brown lipstick is another’s MLBB.

They had 20 shades to play with, would’ve been nice if they did 5 shades each for at least 4 different skin tones ( light, medium, dark, and darker). Instead, we get 10 shades of super pale colors 🙁 I think I’m going to skip this collection and spend my money on brands that recognize their customers come in all different colors.

Agree with everything said from Mo to Elena. They all look like they were meant to coordinate with this year’s hourglass palette. Warm, light, and anything but universal. I only like the 2 darker shades, and I’m both old and Caucasian. Also believe that this type of formula may be done better by other brands. The sameness factor, though, might cause folks who like them to get a bunch, in barely different shades. (I’m like that about Nars brown toned reds…..in all formulas.). So I guess I see where these are targeted. But to me, they are quasi passé and mildly, may I say…..boring?

I will pass on these just on principle. I am as pale as a white wall and I still wouldn’t wear most of these but the fact that they are catering to only one or two very pale skin tones is just unacceptable. My daughter is of mixed ethnicity and she wouldn’t be able to wear any of these colors and she is only medium skinned. No, enough is enough from these companies and I am not going to support them anymore.

These look better in swatches than in the tube in person; in fact, felt like none of them looked like what they did in the tube. The subtle undertones really come out in person. Appreciate you doing all the swatches!

Queen made me heart pound. But other than that YAWN. too many nudes for light skinned people. We need more medium, to dark nudes. I MAY check out Queen, but 90% sure it’s a pass!!

I was Hoping that you swatch these. I have already heard a lot about them. Some really beautiful colours. Will definitely buy some.
I Do not know if I remember right but there Are some new matte lipsticks from bare Minerals, too ??? Will you swatch These?

What is with brands putting out this same color-lineup! Shake it up man!

I feel like this is what I keep seeing over and over:
– tons of pale peach nudes (but no browny pink ones or darkeriterations)
– tons of pinks (but they are all mid toned and similar in color family)
– tons of reds (but all brights)
– 1 brown
– 1 wine
– 1 purple
– 1 orange

Where are the inbetween colors? Sometimes those are the most flattering!!!

I personally feel there are ten thousand other “darker nudes” out there already because I kept wondering why everyone else’s nudes are SO damn dark when I’ve been looking for the perfect pale nude that always seems to be lacking from most collections and these are perfect! Every collection is aimed at particular people so sorry! I and many other people who agree not enough of these colors are out there to choose from and I for one appreciate it. I can only wear very moisturizing formulas as well so I’m excited since I have lips that came from the Sahara!

I have Heaven and love the MLBB effect, and while its true it doesn’t last long on the lips I don’t mind re-applying because it feels moisturizing on my dry lips.
