Smoky Brown Eyes with Lancome Taupe Craze

Smoky Brown Eyes with Lancome Taupe Craze

I did this look yesterday, as I was testing several new products (as you can tell!), all to be reviewed soon. 🙂

You will need the following…

  • Eyes: NARS Smudgeproof Eyeshadow Base (neutral eyeshadow base), Lancome Taupe Craze Eyeshadow Palette (pale beige, muted copper brown, muted medium brown, shimmering taupe, blackened taupe brown), Urban Decay Perversion 24/7 Liner (black), Bare Escentuals Buxom Lash (black)
  • Face: Kiehl’s Tinted Moisturizer (Medium), Burberry Pressed Powder (03)
  • Cheeks: Hourglass Flush Aura Sheer Cheek Stain (pinky-red)
  • Lips: Hourglass Scarlet Aura Sheer Lip Stain (deep red)
  • Brushes: 249 (flat, firm brush), 239 (fluffy shadow brush), 222 (fluffy crease brush), 263 (angled eyeliner brush), 116 (dense blush brush)

For eyes, start by applying Smudgeproof as your eyeshadow base all over the eye area with the 249.  Using the 222, apply the muted medium brown eyeshadow into the crease and blend upwards.  Then, apply the blackened taupe brown eyeshadow with the 219 directly into the crease, and blend using the 222 to give it a gradient effect.  Apply the shimmering taupe eyeshadow on the outer half of the lid with the 239.  Using the 239, apply the pale beige eyeshadow to the inner half of the lid, and then highlight the brow bone with the same shade.  Bring everything together by applying Perversion liner on the lower lash line and blending the pale beige eyeshadow underneath. Finish by sweeping lashes with Buxom Lash mascara.

For cheeks, apply Flush cheek stain on the apples of the cheeks and pat towards the temple with fingers.

For lips, apply Scarlet lip stain for a complementing lip.

Christine, you look amazing pretty much all the time but I think my favorite looks on you are ones that include red lips! That lip stain looks really awesome.

On another note, will you be reviewing Make Up Forever’s Uplight highlighters?

Ooh! Can’t wait for the Lancôme Taupe Craze Palette review – it sounds just like the kind of palette I’ve been searching for 🙂

You look beautiful as always!

This is such a soft pumped up natural look that as someone who hardly wears eyeshadow I could see myself wearing. With a much lighter lip even I could pull it off xD and that says a lot since I am makeup challenged.

Lovely look Cristine! I have to ask you, have you done a review on the Kiehls tinted moisturizer? I am a fan of Kiehls and I have seen it at the store but I would love to read your review of this product. Thank you!

can you recommend something similar to taupe craze but less sparkly? Maybe a quad or quint from another brand? I dont want to say a dupe but something taupe-y and a general well put together palette that you like

Ashley Avatar

I love the eye colors!!! Is the palette very dupe-able or worth investing? Also, I know there is a review on it, but are you very happy with the Kiehl’s TM? I notice you use it in most of your looks, and I’m in the market for something less siliconey than my Armani Face Fabric!

Never commented on everything, but read your blog every day!!! You are awesome!!!

This is a pretty look and you can wear bright lipstick or gloss with it, always a bonus for me! I think you could create something similar using the naked palette the colors are alike. I just brought the Lancome color design eye brightening palette in teal, beautiful colors!May have to pick up the taupe craze or the purple one too!

Ooh thanks! I just ordered it on Sephora! I’ve never used Lancome before but the colors looked so lovely and I’ve been looking for a good taupe since I went through my style snob!

This is waht I wear all day long (eyes only) and I love it. On you it is though too grown-up, you really can pull off colours, best – you do not need make-up a lot, just some nice red lip stuck to groove! Enjoy, you are beautiful:-)

Hey Christine, I have been following your site for like a month now and I must say your reviews are very detailed and a big help for those us too cheap (like me) to try it out ourselves. I’m very much into neutral, brown, and bronze looks. I noticed that the colors in this look are strikingly familiar to your look using the theBalm Shady Lady vol 3 that you posted prior. How do you compare the color similarity? Are they dupes of each other? By the way… you look stunning with red lips!
