Showmance
Smashbox Showmance Photo Edit Eye Shadow Trio ($22.00 for 0.11 oz.) contains a soft gold, rich, mid-tone brown, and deep, olive green with all three having shimmer. Hold My Gold could have been less soft and easier to work with, while the other two shades were more pigmented and applied better.

Hold My Gold
Hold My Gold is a muted, light-medium gold with subtle, warm yellow undertones and a metallic sheen. It had semi-opaque pigmentation with a soft, powdery consistency that had a lot of excess product that kicked up in the pan when used with a brush (even with a light touch). It had some fallout during application as a result, and it was a shade that I’d consider using with a dampened brush to improve it all-around. This shade wore well for seven hours on me.

Formula Overview
-
The formula is supposed to be "super-blendable" and "richly-pigmented." I found the quality to vary a lot from shade to shade, even with a trio, as some shades had soft, blendable texture and others were drier, dusty, and messy to work with and had pigmentation that sheered out or faded quickly. I wanted to like them more than I ended up after using them on the lid as I routinely felt like the brighter shades never looked quite as vibrant in practice as they did in the pan. Most of the shades were blendable and had coverage from medium to opaque with a few being sheer. They lasted anywhere from five to eight hours on me.

Borrowed Bling
Borrowed Bling is a medium-dark, caramel-brown base with deep, green-tinged gold shimmer paired with a metallic finish. I thought it might have more of a duochrome shift to it,b ut it was more like greenish-gold shimmer than an actual shift. The consistency was soft, smooth, and not too powdery or too firmly pressed in the pan, so it was easy to pick up with a brush and apply to the lid. It had opaque color coverage that lasted for seven and a half hours on me.

Hundo
Hundo is a deep, olive green with subtle, warm undertones and a pearl finish. It was richly pigmented and had a smooth, moderately dense consistency that was well-balanced between firm and soft, so it was easy to apply and blend out on the lid without having fallout. The eyeshadow wore well for seven and a half hours on me.

I’m glad this was decent. I’m hoping the others are as well. Great for people who aren’t collectors of makeup, or for a look in a colour out of the norm for someone.
This is one of the trios that I really am interested in. I was hoping it might get a slightly higher rating but I can live with a B.
I really like this lovely little trio of shades – they work well together and the quality is pretty good. Beautiful eye look Christine – these autumn shades look lovely on you.
When I see colours as drab as this I ask why? ? Also, spring is coming and they look autumnal…
Not a terrible little trio. But I’m spoiled by my Chanel Empriente du Desert quad for when I want to do a gold/ green/ bronze eye, I’m afraid! The 2nd shade, Borrowed Bling makes me think of Buxom Rose-gold eyeshadow, which I have.
You made me smile with the mention of E du D. I had put it aside for a while and took it out 3 days ago to use again and the joy of how wonderful it is came flooding back. How I wish Chanel would make it permanent.
So pretty on you. I seldom if ever use green. This makes me want to try it though.
I always use a darker green with these 2 shadows, but I think I’ll try this combo out next time. It’s a really pretty combo.
Thanks for the review. Wish it got a higher grade. I swatched it at an Ulta & though they were very light colored, would need to build this trio a lot for it to be visible on my eyes. I held off from buying & now I’m glad I did. Will you be reviewing the Snap Queen from this Collection?
Hopefully!
I have this one. I was disappointed. That bronze shade doesn’t show up on me and is kind of chunky. The highlight shade was also chunky. The green is the star of the show but honestly, it’s nothing special. I should’ve returned this one
I love these three shades together! So pretty!
