Oh god! The Palette, the lip crayons, the lipstick and the mascara are looking very, very nice! Will have to cave in at the end and make an order to Sephora US, ship it to the UK and use Parcel Motel to bring it to Ireland. Hope it’s worth the pain in the back if I decide to do it, lol!
whaaaat?! No girl, use an American shipping service like shipitto.com and get it to ireland without a minimum order for less than a tenner 🙂 it’s the same as parcel motel
but right to your door. It’s how I got my Lorac pro to Dublin!
I’ll definitely look into it! I knew about Shipitto, but wasn’t sure about the pricing and the risk of custom charges… probably is still worth the risk though, anyway I dounf out in Sephora they charge you the taxes before checkout if you intend to ship to Europe!
This was exactly my plan too! That lipstick. Wow.
intrigued with the cheek trio the most , but the mascara looks nice , too .
looking forward to your reviews !
I just recently learned about Pantone. I still wear what I want to wear, but I do recognize Pantone’s influence. Now that I’m seeing Marsala everywhere, I do appreciate the richness of the color. The colors in Sephora’s and Pantone’s eyeshadow palette look gorgeous. I can’t wait to see the review.
I feel like next year’s color is underwhelming. I don’t know. Marsala is a great neutral, but it just feels like a more subdued color in comparison to Radiant Orchid (which I *loved*). It’s definitely meant for a more mature and refined look. The packaging is beautiful for this collection though.
I’m not quite as gung ho about the pantone color this year as I was last, but I do like that lip shade. The mascara might also wear well on redheads.
I guess I get my back up at the whole “colour of the year” decree! I don’t want anyone dictating to me what colour I should/ought/must be wearing. It just so happens that I like wine and “marsala” type shades and have lamented the fact that it’s been really hard to find clothing in those shades for ages (another reason I’m glad I sew – I’ve made myself a suit, etc. in this colour long before Pantone decreed that it was “the” colour). I do like the colour of the lipstick though while I’m a sucker for eye shadow palettes, that one doesn’t do it for me – too many yellow and orange shades. And I just may put aside my wine coloured suit, trousers and even my suede pumps for the next 12 months, while there’s a whole army of women parading around in “marsala”.
Just think, though-when this color goes “out”, you’ll be able to find things on sale/clearance, LOL! I have a very defined style myself, and although there are some “pricier” retailers that carry things I like all the time, I appreciate when it falls in line with current fads, and less expensive retailers style a line, and it all eventually ends up 75% off!
Definitely interested
Oh wow, this all looks pretty amazing!
Ooh. Yeah.. I’m gonna have to get all of this. I hope that mascara is as charming as it seems.
I need EVERYTHING in this collection!
Wow, I’m really impressed with the packaging and colors this year! Let’s hope they perform just as well. I feel like in past years the pantone products always beelined it to the clearance
Interested in the palette and the blush trio! Maybe the lipstick, too.
I want that sephora palette. Sephora is raising their eyeshadow game.
Soooo not feeling Marsala ( yet) but who knows what the future holds…oh wait you have some of it here:)) The packaging is pretty ! Go Sephora! Most winey colours age me though so I think I’ll be passing on most of these :s
That palette is relevant to my interests. Can’t wait to see your review!
What do you think of the 2015 Pantone color, Christine? I’ll admit to being a little disappointed when it was first announced, but maybe it is growing on me? I don’t typically buy a lot of beauty products centered around the Pantone colors anyway, but I like to incorporate it a little bit.
It’s an interesting pick! I’m more curious to see it translated 🙂
Couldn’t they have called it Bordeaux? Marsala makes me think of chicken. Anyway I’m into the eyeliner and mascara!
I think Marsala also refers to Marsala, Italy, and a type of wine.
I know. I’m saying they could have picked a regional wine with a prettier name, like Bordeaux!
but then I think of beef bourdeaux haha. Since I know it is also a wine, it doesn’t bother me. It’s just a name.
And, it would be a completely different shade… Not every “wine” is the same color. Marsala & Bordeaux, for example, are *completely* different!
You are completely right.
Bordeaux is one region in France that makes wine- certain types of grapes (Merlot, for instance) are used to make it. And it’s a red wine.
Marsala is in Italy, and the wine is more like a sherry or a port. And it’s made from white grapes, but it’s aged and processed which gives it that colour that Pantone wants to capture.
Completely different.
Pantone couldn’t call Marsala “Bordeaux” because Pantone aready has a color named “Bordeaux’; number 17-1710X. If you Google it, you’ll see Bordeaux leans more to the purple side…
There is a lot of Marsala shades in that palette. lol
OMG I CANNOT WAIT TO GET THIS AND SEE IN STORE AND SWATCH
Based on the comments it seems like many people are disappointed in this year’s Pantone color, but this is the first year where I’ve been like “OOOOHHHHH I LOVE IT!” when I first saw the announcement. Will be interested to see reviews on these products.
Im loving it too! I actually like it more than previous years . So much that I’ve been asking BA at various companies for their Marsala kinda shade ^^;;
Me, too! I couldn’t even consider the tangerine, the emerald was lacking something, and the radiant orchid collection just seemed incomplete (as did the emerald…). I prefer richer/deeper shades, and although they run warmer, I think I could still pull them off…
I am SOOOOOOOOOO love this color…This is the year that I actually LOVE the Pantone Color. I am looking forward to the entire year of this color.
I’m most interested in the mascara and eyeliner, as they’re the most unconventional, I think. Everything else would have to get good reviews! :p
I like the lip creme and lip pencils… Maybe the lip creme will be a reasonable dupe for Pink Chocolate from Too Faced – they were touting it as marsala on IG. Fingers crossed it’s a good formula!
I can’t wait to see swatches of that palette. And yeah, I think I need the lipstick.
I need to see the pallet in person and swatch (or read your review) but I am interested. This is wayyyy more neutral than I normally like in a pallet, but I have bright green eyes and I know these red browns would make great pops of color. I am currently getting my marsala fix from UD’s Vice 3 pallet.
I know a lot of people aren’t so excited about this year’s color, but I am! 😀 If that palette is decent quality, it’ll be a must have for me. The mascara, cheek trio, and multiple look nice too.
Oh, this collection! That palette looks right up my alley, and I’m also making tentative grabby hands at the eyeliner and the lipstick (and the mascara and the cheek trio…)
It’s such an autumnal color that it’s a little weird seeing all of these browny-red products in January instead of the later months. The color also reads very 1990s to me, but there are uglier decades out there to bring back.
I think shade leans very fall/winter so it’ll be interesting to see if Sephora/Pantone can keep the momentum going for the spring and summer. But I also like how they seem to have several finishes of the color of the year in the eyeshadow palette instead of one huge pan of a single finish like they did for Radiant Orchid. I could see myself picking this palette up depending on the review.
I love almost everything in this collection and the prices aren’t bad either!
I have to admit..I like this better than last year’s… I’ve been recently getting into red/cranberry type shades from Vice 3 and Balm Jovi, etc, and I feel like marsala is a more…well rounded color than Radiant Orchid. I absolutely love radiant orchid as lipstick and blush, but marsala…is a better eye color, mascara color, cheek and lip color, all around. I would much rather wear cranberry/red colors on my eyes than pink, ya know? 😛 I’m super excited. I might even get the eyeshadow palette, unlike last year- but I will get the lipstick and blush trio for sure! 😀
I agree! Marsala seems more universally flattering maybe? I never went for anything ‘radiant orchid’ because I don’t like cool purples on myself.
I’m definitely going to have to try the lip collection! I love sheer balms that I can layer 😀 I can’t wait for the review!
I was really bummed out when Pantone announced the color, but that palette looks wonderful! I hope I can grab one before they’re all gone, it seemed like all the Radiant Orchid items sold out the day they were in stock.
I might pick up the eyeliner, but I didn’t pick up last year’s until it was on clearance, so…
The mascara, liner, multi and oddly enough the matte lip cream seem most interesting to me.
Gotta get that cheek trio!!! Perhaps the lip pencils too. As for eyeshadow, I think that I may just be covered when it comes to “marsala” shades primarily because I own Lorac Unzipped, as well as those Wet n Wild l.e.5 pans that dupe UD Naked 3, and MAC Folie, Brown Script and others that may be dupes for the eyeshadow palette? Looking forward to your review and swatches of these to see whether the eyeshadows are dupes or not.
Marsala – I think it is absolutely elegant! Finally a color that doesn’t look like everything else! I love it. “Marsala enriches our mind, body and soul, exuding confidence and stability. Marsala is a subtly seductive shade, one that draws us into its embracing warmth.”
I like the look of everything (especially the lip set and the mascara/liner) except the eyeshadow palette. Don’t get me wrong, I’m keen to see how a few of the shades swatch, but it looks terribly, terribly warm for one of my colouring. We all know that promo photos are ‘more like guidelines anyway’ (Geoffrey Rush as Barbossa voice) though, so I will reserve judgement 😉
I’m actually looking forward to *everything*, particularly the eyeliner & blush trio. I’ll likely pass on the lipstick, mascara, & multiple, though, but everything else will likely end up in my stash!
I’m not that excited about next year’s new color, but I’m liking the look of those lip pencils! Hope they perform well though.
Love, love, love the lipstick. Marsala is not a colour I would wear on my eyes – with red hair, pale complexion, I would look like either a clown or there was a problem with my eyes. But as a lipstick/blush shade it would be glorious.
Radiant orchid was harder to wear with my skin tone so I’m glad to see a warmer tone. They seem to rotate warm/cool each year which is nice. Loved the previous Pantone mega palettes (precious metals still ranks as one of my favorite palettes of my entire collection) but last years was awful. I used it a few days in a row and just couldn’t bring myself to touch it again. I wound up using the blush palette for shadow instead and it was 1000x better quality. Will probably just get it this year, unless the palette gets really good reviews.
I’m actually pretty disappointed in this collection. :/ I was super excited about it when they announced the new colour of the year collection, (wishfully) thinking it would be like the original Tangerine Tango collection, which had a variety of products and, it seemed like, was more centered around the colour it was supposed to be celebrating. I also hate the new packaging and think the gold looks super tacky and cheap compared to their original white and silver packaging. Not that that’s quite enough to stop me from buying the products I want haha. 😉
I am so lemming after the eye palette, mascara and eyeliner. OMG! Colors that will make the green in my eyes so intense. I want it all, though, really. Heaven.
I’m still mourning Almay discontinuing the Raisin Quartz shade of mascara, and I’ve gone through all my backups. I’m hoping this one might be close.
I’m definitely interested in some of these – probably as many as I can afford!! I love this color. It’s going to work very well with my skin tone and not look artificial and overdone at work. I’m going to be going to Sephora right away once these come out! I’ve been interested in getting them ever since the announcement of the CoTY came out! I know this will work great on me.
YAY
This is the best color they have had to work with in a long time! I mean orange, emerald, and orchid were all misses. This is On Point.
All of these marsala shades will work for me. I’m beyond excited! I want the shadow palette, the cheek palette, the mascara, the liner, and the lippie. Now to find the $ for them all 🙂 I can hardly wait for your reviews and swatches!
Oh they all look beautiful… I’m especially liking the looks of the eyeliner!
When they first announced the 2015 color, my initial reaction was “Ew.” Then, I realized it was actually brilliant for makeup products. I only purchased the Radiant Orchid blush trio from Sephora last year because I didn’t like the eye shadow palette (it didn’t feel cohesive to me at all) and the other products were very bland, and I’m thinking I might purchase this blush trio as well. I’m really interested in the eye shadow palette, mascara, and eyeliner, too.
I’m excited to see this collection hit the physical stores. I want to see the packaging in person, poke my fingers at the shadows and blushes, and draw all over my hand with the eyeliner!
Hmm I wish they brought back the Venus Lure lip balm that they had for 2014 Radiant Orchid. I absolutely love that tinted balm, I have two back-ups! They should make that permanent and with more colors! Not too crazy about Marsala and a little confused as the Pantone swatch looks like a dusty rose but all the products / clothing I’ve seen and now even this official Pantone x Sephora line looks more like a muddy red… hmm.
I really enjoy burgundy colours like marsala, but I’m a little disappointed that they’re trying to water it down into being a neutral rather than a rich shade like it actually appears on the Pantone colour swatches. I guess they were worried it wouldn’t otherwise be wearable.
Dear Sephora,
You can create an infinite number of looks, or an infinite variety, or an infinite assortment. You cannot create an infinite amount of looks–“looks” is a countable noun.
The mascara can be used “ON both lashes and brows” or “both on lashes and ON brows,” but not “both on lashes and brows.”
And “the unique blend of naturally-derived oils and powders enhance…”? “Blend” is a singular noun; the unique blend *enhances*.
Are you kidding with this?
I can feel your pain Lisa! It’s like the Copywriting team was sleeping…
Oooo really looking forward to the eye shadow palette and cheek palette and the lipstick! I totally love marsala as the 2015 color of the year!!! Although I can’t stop thinking of chicken marsala and it makes me hungry T.T…..^^ hehe
This collection is so up my alley it’s crazy lol. I want the cheek trio and lipstick for sure but the eyeshadow palette and multiple are tempting too
Ohh my gosshh.. that’s such a stunning collection .. I am in love with Marsala and would really be looking forward to add more makeup in this color to my collection!! 🙂
That eye shadow palette is ohh so prettyy!! <3
OMG, 2015 is going to be the year of the empty wallet!! I can’t wait to swatch the eyeshadow palette. As for lips, these are my fave colors —brown- reds, brown- pinks, and wines.
Hi @temptalia ! Are you going to review the Layering Lip Collection at all? I think they’re gorgeous and was hoping you would review them and give us some dupes since they’re LE. 🙂
