Sephora #Lipstories Lipstick Swatches (Summer 2019)

Sephora #Lipstories Lipstick ($8.00 for 0.14 oz.) just launched 15 new shades, which you’ll find swatched below! There are new shades across each of the range’s three finishes (matte, metallic, and satin).

FYI, I dropped Spiked (second row, fourth over) as I was moving it into place for the group shot (which is last, so the close-ups are as arrived–new), which is why the slanted tip looks a bit different than the others.

We appreciate enthusiasm for new releases but ask readers to please hold questions regarding if/when a review will be posted as we can't commit to or guarantee product reviews. We don't want to set expectations and then disappoint readers as even products that are swatched don't always end up being reviewed due to time constraints and changes in priorities! I think I’ll be needing Spiked and Spark! My favorite from the previous shades is Spring Break and I just got Festival Lights… I guess my color preferences are pretty predictable! I have not tried the matte formula yet but it looks great on you! I love the cream formula.

…I’m seriously considering Werk It as a cheek highlight. I love balmy, dewy stick highlighters, and I don’t mind a bit of tackiness since my hair is always away from my face. Gonna have to check that out in person next Sephora trip!

Ac couple of these are very intriguing (Vacation Goals, It’s Electric), a couple are head-scratchers (Backstage, Sink or Swim), and 1/3 of them don’t look remotely like summer colors (or winter, for that matter, if we were taking Australia into consideration).

I’m oddly attracted to unusual colors that go on translucent enough for one’s lip color to show through. I know they always get bad ratings because of not going on evenly, but … I actually like that look. I’ve been tempted in the past to get some green base lipsticks that have that effect; now I’m drawn to Backstage.

So the cactus image that’s on the tube for “Spiked” is a common Google image result for “cactus wallpaper” — I know, because I had it as my wallpaper for a while!

Makes me wonder if Sephora got the image rights for it or just snagged it… ?

Omg grind and margs look amazing!!!!! I have dupes of course but I’m still getting them. I love doing dupe swatches on my IG (LeBonMaquillage) and MAC and Fenty make pretty identical periwinkles. Margs might be more unique! Also loving Spiked and Offshore and maybe Adventuring – I’ll have to check if that’s a dupe for Bite Atlanta which I have.

Going to wait for Offshore’s review: I’m can’t wear a lot of my current red’s but I can wear this formula and this looks like a great replacement. I’m not as into the others but I love how I can look to the Sephora range for an offbeat color.

If 5-0 Grind is a good dupe for Fenty’s Ya Dig I may consider picking it up . Plus Margs and Its Electric seem to be calling my name . These are aome pretty colors honestly.
