Sephora: Get 10% or 15% Off with Points (October 2020 Deal)

is allowing you to redeem points for a one-time discount code now through October 4th! You can 750 points and get 10% off or 1,000 points and get 15% off your next order. See full details .
You may want to calculate how much you’d save on the order you’re considering and whether you’d be able to redeem points for something better in “value” as what you’re getting off. It’s not a particularly great deal unless you’re planning on spending a fair amount–but I know for some (like myself), the points are just sitting there otherwise. The $100 Rouge Reward (for 2,500 points and for Rouge-level Insiders only, is the equivalent of 4% back).
I also updated my product guides for gift guide season already, if you are comparing any formulas or trying to find a particular type of formula to try, you may find my best of lists below useful.
- Cheeks: Best Blushes (2020) / Best Highlighters (2020)
- Lips: Best Lipsticks (2020) / Best Lipglosses (2020)
- Eyes: Best Eyeshadow Palettes (2020) / Best Single Eyeshadows (2020)
- Tools: Best Eye Brushes (2020) / Best Face Brushes (2020)
The fine print made it seem like one could redeem the offer multiple times, though–as it said limit one offer per transaction, up to 10 transactions per Beauty Insider account! See below for full details and exclusions.
*Subject to Beauty Insider terms & conditions. Offer valid for Beauty Insider members who redeem 750 points for 10% off reward, or 1000 points for 15% off reward between 12:01am PT on 09/24/20 and 11:59pm PT on 10/4/20 in Sephora US, Canada, and Sephora inside JCPenney Stores, on sephora.com or on sephora.ca. Offer not valid on jcp.com or Instagram checkout. Limit one offer per transaction, and up to 10 transactions per Beauty Insider account. Additionally, discount will not be valid on Dyson, The Ordinary or MAC Cosmetics Viva Glam products or NUDESTIX Anti-Bacterial Hand Sanitizer Gel, and can only be used to purchase a maximum of five (5) Morphe items per SKU. Not valid on previous purchases, purchases of in-store services, gift cards, FLASH, gift wrapping, packaging, taxes, or shipping & handling charges. Return of discounted merchandise will be for the price actually paid and points will not be refunded. Sephora is not responsible for damaged, lost, or stolen emails or promotional materials. Offers have no cash value and if altered, bartered, sold, or transferred will be void. Due to heavy demand, Sephora FLASH delivery times cannot be guaranteed for these promotions. Not valid on orders shipping outside the US or Canada. Cannot be used in conjunction with other promotional offers, Beauty Insider Cash or rewards. Sephora may modify or cancel offer at any time.

Sephora: Get 10% or 15% Off with Points (October 2020 Deal)
I mean, I could get 10% off at Sephora after spending almost $700 dollars (assuming I manage to catch a point multiplier)…
Or I could cash in my points at Ulta for a much, much bigger discount, that I certainly didn’t spend $700 to get.
Sephora’s reward system just isn’t worth it. 🙁
Agree. I have about $900 in Ulta points. I hope Ulta keeps getting more prestige brands. Sephora’s point system is STILL incredibly lackluster.
Nice to see the Big S points program continues to swirl the drain…
Swirls it and becomes one with it ?♀️
Spend $600 to earn 750 points as a VIB…. then splurge with your 10% off on a fancy new palette that costs $75 and save a whopping $7.50. If you go for a less expensive product you’ll basically just earn free shipping. No thanks! I’ll just wait for the regular sale where I can get 15% off without using any points. Definitely agree with Christine and do the math to see if this is worth it to you.
they have had the option to use 500 pts for $10 off for a while, which is a way better deal. i dont understand how anyone thought this was a good idea.
Pretty paltry compared to Ulta or Nordies. When will Sephora ever get a clue and do better, I wonder? Even though I realize that the $100 giftcard isn’t on par with what Ulta gives, I’d still rather wait and get that instead, because it just *feels* much more substantial.
Clicked over, just for funsies. Not only do they not tell you when you can use the 15%…..one assumes by Oct 4, but it’s not stated. Scrolled down, and on the points redeemed list, I have birthday gift, with a thumbnail pic. Problem is, my birthday is in October….and I didn’t get one last year. As to this bonus/promo/ discount, insult us one more time. Sephora needs remedial math. (No offense to persons who took it. I needed it and never got it.) Unless you have extreme need (and we’re talking cosmetics, not surgery) why would anyone not wait for the looming 20/15 in the pre-holiday sale? If Big S ever does anything that makes sense, I’ll faint.
Just the most rubbish reward program.
Absolute rubbish! Le sigh ☹️
Sephora is really missing the big picture with these nothing offers. Honestly, i am really done with them. I know it is petty, but i was poised to use my 3500 points to get the Natasha Denona bronze set (something i REALLY want but don’t feel like shelling out for) and the website glitched, they probably only had 10 or so anyway and so it was OOS in 2 minutes of me trying to check out repeatedly. Before and since (for years), all of their points offers have been utter garbage (thanks but no thanks to your Patrick Starr stuff which isn’t good quality, a LaMer set which is overpriced and mediocre and Living Proof over and over- which Sephora partially owns). I made a vow to never buy from them again unless there is no way (Beautylish and actual brand websites) that i can get something. And i have spent- NO EXAGGERATION, sadly- spent THOUSANDS on their site over the years.
Exactly. Idk that p Starr was dreadful..Shame. I’m starting to resent the Sbucks spent and rue that they’re not resting in my retirement account, gathering minuscule amounts of interest. I used some points last year, have bought comparatively zilch in a couple, and still have about 5K points. I’ll die with them. Why bother and WGAS? Sephora spending now actually embarrasses me. When S first hit these shores, they were unique. Now, they’re just another mall store, selling precious little that cannot be had elsewhere…. without the insulting games and smug attitude.
I don’t understand the math of this at all. Right now as VIB I get $10 off my order in return for 500 points. So…. why would I want to spend $750 or $1000 for a measly 10 or 15% respectively? There’s no point unless you’re buying so much in one go that it gives you more than $10 off. But in that case, especially with Sephora Flash free shipping, why not split up your orders? Do not get the point.
I misread this as “spend 100 points for 15% off” and thought that sounded reasonably good, considering you’d have to spend $1,000 + to break even, but $1,000 spent for what, tax and shipping? No way. Honestly such a waste. Sephora’s loyalty program is just the worst and nothing they’ve come out with has even kind of improved it.
I have a $100 Reward…I jacked up points back when they had a fragrance multiplier. I am kind of nervous I won’t even spend that much the rest of the year. I may stock up for my husband’s Kiehl soap.
I am disappointed it seems Ulta hasn’t issued 20% off all year for prestigious brands.
I am also getting steeper discounts directly from brand websites if I want. For example, most of my hair products are from Ouidad and I get up to 30% on a regular basis. I got 40% off my foundation from Armani.
Tropical Cowgirl, I agree about Ulta.
I’ve been waiting and waiting for Ulta to issue a 20% off coupon (for all products). Without the 20% off, Ulta is way overpriced for its drugstore (non-prestige) type items. Even with the 20% off, I find prices still cheaper at Target and Walmart.
And with brands offering discounts if bought directly from them, lack of 20% off prestige products also means Ulta is overpriced in those too.
Eh, I’m gonna wait for the real VIB Rouge event (I haven’t missed it, I don’t think). My life is too hectic as it is to care about points so I don’t really put any thought into anyone’s rewards system, but even this seems silly. Sephora could do better.
I have been trying to buy more from WOC brands lately and even when they have a presence on Sephulta, I am trying to buy directly. Sephora just doesn’t make a lot of sense for me these days.
I get that the beauty industry is struggling this year, along with many other industries.
It has taken me years to get any points. I might be willing to cash in 500 points for $10 off. 1000 points for 15%? That is a lot. A few weeks ago, I got a 15% off foundation code. I have two full bottles and 1/4 of the one I am currently using. Won’t need any til spring. Not wearing as much makeup now.
If Ulta opens in Canada, it will easily compete with Sephora and Sephora will need to up its game. Shoppers Drug Mart Beauty Boutique allows you to use your PC points and some reward cash ins or bonus points add up to good savings. The Bay isn’t that great – most of its discounts are 10%.
Ohh my god I used to live in Buffalo and I used to hop over ALL THE TIME for Shoppers. I miss that store so much!
Sephora continues to disappoint. I have been Rouge since the tier came out, but I think this is the year I’m going to let it slide…the “rewards” are laughable. Ulta is where I’ve been spending (the little I’ve spent this year). I just wish their website were better!
The problem is, Sephora has so many customers they don’t have to worry about the people that are unhappy with them. Their paltry events are supposed to excite people into thinking they are giving us something. That is for the younger clients that are new to the game, the rest of us have been around and know when we are being had and won’t play their games. I was looking forward to Ulta opening in Canada this year and hopefully it will happen at some point, not that it will make that much difference to them. I have hardly spent anything at Sephora this year, I don’t have many points so this is a non event for me.
Their reward system sux!! I got the elusive $100 once. I was up to 6k and started using the $10 off on little items that cost 20$ or so.
Ulta’s is sooo good ! Save up 2,000 points then on your birthday month get the 20% off and 5x points! Heaven!
Dismal offering.
NOT. A. Chance.
In Canada we have Shopper’s Drug Mart, who is vying hard to compete with Sephora, but they just don’t have the compelling site (as I keep telling them when they ask for feedback), but their rewards are ultimately better—because you gather them from pharmacy, groceries, cosmetics…
I’ve never ordered from Ulta, but if they made it easier/faster delivery I’d do it.
I’m in Canada too and I have the exact same criticism of Shopper’s Drug Mart’s website…like don’t even think of trying to shop for Chanel on there it’s a disaster! But their point system is hands over fists better than Sephora’s reward system.
Dear Sephora – learn to math.
To get 15% off I need to spend $1000 (redeem 1000 points)? so I’d be getting back $15 on a $100 purchase which is really an $1100 purchase with redeemed points, which is 1.4% savings.
Even if I buy $1000 of product, that’s 7.5% savings.
Or… I could just wait a month for the annual 20% off. I would have to buy $4000 and spend 1000 points (another $1000) to break even on the rouge 20% deal.
Either way, Sephora isn’t worth it to me. Brands are going to offer far better sales this season – 25-40%, if last year was any indicator, and with the way retail went this year, perhaps more. I could do better on Selfridges alone with one annual fee of $50, which saves me NY sales tax, and I often get better prices on my favorite brands. The UK has better price points, for whatever reason.
I almost feel like Sephora is insulting our intelligence with their crappy “rewards” LOL. If they don’t run the standard 20% for VIB in the fall I’m done as a loyal customer.
This offer is making me NOT shop at Sephora. Terrible rewards promo.
