I’ve been really pleasantly surprised by the quality of many, many of Sephora’s recent house brand launches. Some of their products (especially their jumbo and thinner pencil liners) are actually my products of choice, so if the quality is there on these 5-shadow sets, I will most definitely be getting several of them. The colour groupings look perfect and these would be ideal for travelling or for having to grab just one item to get ready in the morning. They put me in mind of those really great WnW Colour Icon 6 pan palettes from years ago (oddly, I mentioned the Vanity palette here just a few days ago).

I quite like the looks of a couple of these, but many of them run together visually and I had to take a second look to see the differing undertones. I like the plum and particularly and surprisingly, the pink. I wish a couple more of the earth toned palettes were mostly matte. These would be perfect to toss in a bag for quick trips.

They look lovely and I want four or five of them! But I’ve been holding off on ordering until I read a review but one of my favorite bloggers (hint, hint). I’m also trying to find out where they are made since some Sephora products are made in China and I tend to avoid any cosmetics made in China.

The 4th one down looks like beautiful cool toned browns but, going by how the others are listed, that one must be Majestic Plum, though it doesn’t look “plum” to me. I sort of wish I could take colours from a few palettes to combine into one perfect palette but already I can tell that I’ll at least be checking out Majestic Plum, Essential Mattes (even though the slightly orange shadow doesn’t thrill me – but then again, that may just be the sort of shade I need to give a try), Mild to Wild Khaki and Milk to Dark Chocolate. A part of me is almost hoping these aren’t great so I can pass on them but then again, I am a bit of a cheerleader for Sephora’s house brand.

They look wondeful, but it’s the same old thing: matching colors. All blues, all puples, all grays. Why can’t brands mix things up and put some colors together? I wanna wear blue with soft pink and taupe, or green with peachy orange and brown. And just in one palette!

Hmn, the 5th one down (with the cream, peach, brown, pencil grey and black) looks like Nyx’s Love in Florence palette in Ciao Bella. I should know because it’s one of my work week palettes.

I’ll have to swatch all of these when they are released. Sephora in-house brands are getting better in quality but sometimes the color looks awful on my skintone. I’m very tempted by the olive/khaki green set.
