Rimmel #103 Lasting Finish Matte by Kate Moss Review, Photos, Swatches

Rimmel #103 Lasting Finish Matte by Kate Moss

Rimmel #103 Lasting Finish Matte by Kate Moss ($5.49 for 0.14 oz.) is a warm, medium-dark pink with a creamy, matte finish. MAC Sunny Seoul is a bit warmer and shimmery. MAC Pink Pearl Pop is closer, but it is also shimmery. Le Metier de Beaute Fiji is a touch lighter.

It is incredibly pigmented, and it has even, opaque color coverage when initially applied. I wish I could say the texture was different from #107, but this shade had an odd graininess to the texture that made it not-quite-comfortable to wear. It has enough creaminess that you can apply the color to the lips in full, but it feels like it’s just sitting on lips as a layer of product. As it fades away, it fades from the center first, leaving behind a ring of color along the outer edges of the lips. #103 lasted five hours, and it was somewhat dehydrating during that time. On the upside, it contains 0.14 oz. of product, which is more than most lipsticks. I grabbed mine from Walgreens, but I haven’t seen them online yet.

I don’t like Kate Moss, but I really like the lipsticks you’ve recently reviewed. Maybe Kate isn’t so bad 🙂 thanks for the reviews!

I don’t know much about Kate Moss but I understand where you are coming this is how I feel about anything Kardashian…I won’t even watch tuts inspired by her looks/make up. LOL

I’ve been wanting for you to do a review on this shade! I actually bought this a few weeks ago at Duane Reade. I liked this more as a lip tint than an actual lipstick.

I picked up one of these randomly, I think #104, but I haven’t actually worn it so I can’t swear to the weird texture or not. Maybe I’ll test it and see if I have the same issue.

I hope you love #104 Blueraccoon! I seriously cannot get enough of how perfect the color is. I bought it on New year’s and haven’t taken it off since, with the crazy smell and all.

I love these lipsticks despite the (minor, in my opinion) issues with texture. Rimmel makes some nice lip liners that match some of the more intense shades, such as Cherry Kiss lip liner for Kate Moss Matte no.107, that help the color stay better longer.
I also love that Rimmel seems to be moving away from the sickly fake chemical sweetness that the original Kate Moss lipsticks had… blargh.

I’m pretty sensitive to grody smells when it comes to lip products, but all the colors from this line haven’t bothered me that much. The texture isn’t the most luxurious or silky smooth in comparison to the other mattes that are currently available on the market, but I agree with Jane that the textural issues are very minor. These are high performing lipsticks for five dollars. It should do just fine for people who are interested in dabbling in bold, matte lip colors but don’t want to spend too much money on them.

The color is nice, texture is different, but the smell is nauseating! The original Kate lipsticks were much better in every way. They really missed with these.

I have to agree with you on the texture of these, Christine — there’s something about it that just feels kind of “off.” I have True Vintage (from the perm line), and it’s /gorgeous/, but I never wear it. I feel like it just sits around and seeps moisture from my lips — kind of bleh.

pretty color, i have the pink champagne one that looks a lot like this one and i got the pink blush one too but uhhh, they’re drying and that ring that forms is annoying 🙁

I adore Kate Moss, her sense of style, her work. She is a true professional and a real fashion icon. There is a reason she has been modelling for 20 years and photographers still want to work with her. These lipsticks are great too, I have a few. Cheap and pretty!

Very pretty color. But I have 109 (a light brick orange) and agree with the smell….it’s the main reason why I don’t reach for it versus other lippies I have in similar colors.
