Revlon Peach Light PhotoReady Skinlights Face Illuminator Review, Photos, Swatches
Revlon Peach Light PhotoReady Skinlights Face Illuminator
Revlon Peach Light PhotoReady Skinlights Face Illuminator ($12.99 for 1.0 fl. oz.) is a light-medium, peachy-beige with a soft, warm undertone and a fine gold shimmer. bareMinerals The Magic Moment (LE, $26.00) is more shimmery. Becca Rose Gold (LE, $38.00) is more shimmery, darker. Laura Mercier Spellbound (LE, $42.00) is more shimmery, darker, warmer. MAC Barbados Girl (LE, $20.00) is darker. Illamasqua Supernatural (P, $24.00) is darker. Tom Ford Beauty Fire Lust (LE, $65.00) is pinker, more shimmery. See comparison swatches.
The formula is supposed to “brighten and illuminate skin for a radiant complexion,” and it is designed to be worn alone or mixed with foundation. The consistency is thin, very liquid-like, which makes it ideal for mixing with a liquid/cream foundation or moisturizer. It’s a very subtle highlighter/illuminator–it’s just a sheerer product, so it seems like a much more toned down version of your average highlighter. I think it works best mixed with foundation, because that subtle effect stretches and adds very slight warmth as well as breathes life back into skin (particularly helpful if you have drier skin). Alone, it doesn’t dry down fully, so it doesn’t wear long–a mere four and a half hours–and can make foundation look a little patchy after five to six hours. When I mix it, though, it doesn’t impact the wear of my foundation at all.

It looks lovely on you. Will check it out. Btw, what lip product and color did you use? Thanks.
Hi Dreyes!
It’s YSL Corail Jalouse. All the info is posted at the end of the post under “The Makeup Look,” just for future reference! 🙂
THE MAKEUP LOOK
On face: Guerlain Parure de Lumiere Foundation, Kevyn Aucoin The Celestial Liquid Highlighter (mixed with foundation), Guerlain Les Voilettes Pressed Powder. On lips: YSL Corail Jalouse Rouge Volupte Lipstick.
So do you have the Revlon Skinlights Illuminator on in the photo of yourself, because you have another highlighter listed as being mixed with your foundation?
Hi Noviait – I’m wearing it as a highlighter – on my cheekbones, down my nose.
i don’t know… doesn’t look really uh.. suitable on you? not to sound crap but you look like your face is oily =P
Doesn’t look oily to me, but to each their own!
I think it looks great on you!
Thanks, Kelly!
It doesn’t look oily to me either, just subtly glowy.
that’s the point of a highlighter, to give a glow on the parts of that face that we want to glow because our cheekbones aren’t usually oily so they need highlighter more than the center on the nose and forehead(which do too, but when someone is oily, a matte one is used)
I have this, but I haven’t used it yet. I keep worrying it will make my foundation melt off or look oily. Might give it a go tomorrow. Is the effect when mixed with foundation the same as some of the ‘shimmery’ foundations I’ve seen around (like Revlon Photoready, and Rimmel Wake Me Up)?
I haven’t tried either of those foundations, sorry!
It has more of a dewy look as opposed to the glittery micro-particles in the PhotoReady foundations. I don’t know about the Rimmel, so I’m assuming that’s what you mean. HTH
Even though I have dry skin, I find powder highlighter easier to work with and control. I find that most creamy and iiquid highlighters always end up fading away
They often don’t have the same staying powder as powder, unfortunately!
I’ve tried these and I didn’t like them. Or at least, I didn’t like them for me. I mixed the product with my foundation to get that promised glowy effect, but it just ended up emphasizing my pores.
Oh no! Which shades did you try?
I think it stinks that REVLON brought these back more expensive and smaller bottle.
Did they? I’ve never used the formula before!
God, this shows my age. lol!!!! Years ago they had this out. It was the best!! Revlon discontinued this and it was going on EBAY,I hear, for $100.00. It used to be in a much bigger tube, kind of a medium, toothpaste size, with a pump. I was so excited they brought this back.
Well, they brought it back and it is different and it is too expensive for what they give you. A shame really.
To anyone who reads this, it is awesome on pale skin. Well, at least the old formula was.
How disappointing it must be to know it changed 🙁
I never tried the liquid, but I tried the powder quads, which were awesome. I still have 2 of them, one unopened, and one opened last year! I had one that I used & nearly finished, and when the line was being DC’d, I grabbed 2 more.
Loved these when they first came out years ago. Glad they are back and you gave them a good grade!
Yayy! 🙂
This looks like it might be good to add to foundations even for people as pale as I am to warm up for spring/summer in a subtle way!
I think it could work that way if you use a light-medium coverage foundation!
I have this in Bare Lights, and I use it to mix with Revlon ColorStay, which can look a bit dull & flat on its own. I either mix it in directly, or apply it under the foundation on the high parts of my face to add more dimension. I haven’t tried id over foundation, as I have separate highlighters I prefer for that purpose, only because I think this may be too subtle for my tastes, at least in this particular shade, which is close to my skintone.
Nice! Peach Light is like that – too close to my natural coloring that color-wise, it’s best mixed in.
It looks nice on you!
Thanks, Rikki!
It looks very liquidy!
Definitely a liquid highlighter!
I’m a little confused. Is it just on your cheek? Or is that just the effect of the Kevin Aucoin highlighter that you mix in?
Hi Cat,
I’m only wearing it on my cheeks.
This is one of my new favourite products. I blend it along my cheekbones, and the shade complements my skin tone beautifully! Very natural looking. Big thumbs up from me!
Yay!! Do you have it in Peach Light or any of the other shades?
It definitely looks beautiful on you! I don’t like how the formula sounds though. It seems like it’s not all that great alone or mixed with foundation. But I’m tempted to try it anyway because of how gorgeous and glowy it looks on you lol.
Thank you, Fancie! I was hoping it was going to be a bit better!
The peachy color looks very nice. This might be a nice, subtle way to ease me into highlighting.
I’ll probably try this product if it goes on sale.
Thanks for the review! ^^
No problem, An!
Hm, I keep seeing these in the Revlon displays and wondering about them… I tend to be a tiny bit leery of highlighters that are really noticeable (why I went so nuts over the recent Chanel one), because I’m so pale I’m worried I’ll end up with a sort of Edward Cullen effect… 😛
But I might have to go and actually swatch one of these!
This is the only one I have, but I have heard some people complain that it’s too shimmery/glittery? I don’t think Peach Light was glittery at all, but maybe the other shades are different?
I’ve been wondering about this product for a while! Sometimes my skin can look quite dull – and I am super pale. Finding the right products to illuminate my skin can be quite a challenge!
Maybe the lightest one could work! I think it’s called Bare Light.
I own two bottles of MAC’s golden elixir so I won’t be purchasing this any time soon but it really looks lovely on you. It gives a nice, subtle glow.
How do you like to use Golden Elixir?
I’d love to try this out though haven’t seen it here in Japan yet.
Hope it shows up soon!
do you think i could mix this in with a matte foundation for a dewy look? 🙂 i have oily skin but ive always wanted a gentle dewy look 🙁
Yes, you could mix!
