Rescue Beauty Lounge Scrangie 2.0 & Liberty Nail Lacquers Reviews, Photos, Swatches

Rescue Beauty Lounge Scrangie 2.0 Nail Lacquer ($20.00 for 0.50 fl. oz.) is described as “the color of an oil base that floats on water with rainbow sparkles.” It’s a dirty, olive bronze with multi-colored shimmer and threads of khaki-bronze metallic shimmer. Though I held my nails every which way, in both natural light, artificial light, and direct sunlight, it didn’t shift much. The edges darkened and green tones came through at severe angles, rather than the dirty bronze/khaki coloring. The consistency was thinner than the average RBL, which means the consistency is not too thick or too thin. It had good color coverage with two coats. OCC Ripley is greener and doesn’t have the multi-colored shimmer. SpaRitual Lithophonic is darker, less shimmery. Dior Czarina Gold is much darker, less shimmery. See comparison swatches. I wouldn’t consider any of those real dupes for this shade. This shade sold out before the pre-sale was even half-over, but it will be back later on this fall season, so if it’s up your alley, you’ll have another chance to snag it.

Liberty Nail Lacquer ($20.00 for 0.50 fl. oz.) is described as the “image of the majestic Lady Liberty gleaming with reflective glass-flecks.” It’s a pale, pastel green with soft white flecks of shimmer. On me, it doesn’t read cool enough to be a true mint green, but on cooler complexions, it may turn more mint green. The formula was slightly thick, and I had good results overall, but one needs to be careful to apply medium coats, as thin tended to look streaky (I tried two thinner coats on my pinky nail, and it was slightly streaky). Illamasqua Mottle has a similar base color but has black glitter. China Glaze Keep Calm, Paint On is slightly lighter. Butter London Fiver is lighter, more mint green. See comparison swatches.

I typically get seven days of wear with very minor tip wear but no chipping with Rescue Beauty Lounge’s formula. They tend to have a thicker formula that takes a bit longer to dry than the average polish.  Liberty should be available to the public next week.

Those are beautiful colors but I find the the consistency of RBL rather too thick for my taste and drying time is also longer 🙁 I am always torn when I see these color, would like to buy them but remember the ones I have and never feel like applying because of this issue.

Liberty is really pretty! Is it at all similar to Essie Navigate her/Orly Coachella Dweller? They look similar, though they most likely aren’t dupes.

I just got mine in the mail and have Scrangie 2.0 on right now. I agree with the olivey bronze with shimmer description. I’m not getting any sort of “oil slick” that Ji described. The shimmer is gorgeous, if not as multi-dimensional as Anne or something of the like.

When I love a RBL, like I do Anne, or Jane, or Poppy, or Be Humble, it is worth every single penny of the cringworthy price. But, when I get one that doesn’t work, like Bella or Moxie, which are both streak city no matter what application technique I use, it’s a rage inducing experience. As a result I have definitely slowed down my RBL purchase rate. I wait for reviews, and pass on anything that looks like it may have issues. I would love to have Liberty, but I’m passing because I fear it could be streaky/impossible to get opaque.

Sasha Avatar

So you like Be Humble? I was really tempted because the blue flash in a gray base looked lovely but I was afraid I’d pull the trigger and the shimmer wouldn’t show up in person.

I actually love Moxie but I try to limit my RBL purchases now as well to the really standout polishes like Scrangie, Anne etc because they usually chip on me within 2 days, which sucks considering the price tag.

Sasha Avatar

Similar experience. Second day they pretty much always chip. I even spent the money to get the RBL base and top coat and I get better results using Zoya base and top with RBL, but still pretty much 2-3 days. Which reminds me, I need to throw another coat of clear on my RBL mani now in the hopes it might last through the day tomorrow…

I like both, but the first one is deeeefinitely right up my alley! Can’t pick it up though, as the brand isn’t available here. Gosh, the things I have to go through to get my hands on some products. I have a friend in the US order stuff from Ulta or Boots (can’t order myself because my credit card has a European billing address), and then have him ship it to me as a gift so that I won’t have to pay ridiculous import taxes on it. Maybe I should just move to the US. What a luxury it must be to just walk into a store and have the product you want straightaway… 🙂

You are so lucky you live in Europe! Such a gorgeous continent, really I´m not from the USA but other than the country I live in I could only consider Europe as a place to live in, and surely there must be some amazing European brands that you can only buy there.

Polly Avatar

You can’t walk into a store *anywhere* and pick up RBL polishes, as they are only available through the website. They do ship to most countries, though, certainly including many European ones (that’s how I get them in the UK.) Shipping isn’t cheap, though it’s come down from the ridiculous price it used to be, but I find it and the high price-tag worth it for those few colours that I really love 🙂

I got scrangie 2.0, liberty and nails and noms. I love nailsandnoms a lot . I do not have anything even close to that in my collection . Liberty is ok … But I absolutely regret buying scrangie 2.0 .. I am totally disappointed .
People who are feeling bad for not getting it … Don’t worry … You can easily pass it … It is not even close to the hype it created .

Alison Avatar

I got Liberty and love it. Have it on now and will have to see how it wears. To me it fills the lemming for Chanel Jade. Would love to see a comparison.
