Renee Rouleau Triple Berry Smoothing Peel
Renee Rouleau Triple Berry Smoothing Peel
Renee Rouleau Triple Berry Smoothing Peel ($85.50 for 1.7 oz.) is, quite possibly, the most deliciously scented facial product I have ever come across–but I am a fiend for raspberries. It’s a sweet, deletectable berry scent (I caught a lot of raspberry myself, but it also contains several other fruits). It is a chemical exfoliant, so it doesn’t have any beads, particles, or the like, that will scrub off dead skin.
It looks like raspberry jam, including seeds, and the texture is rather jam-like, as well, but it’s a little looser than the average jam. But I tell you, if you don’t get the urge to taste it at least once… (I managed to resist, but I do wonder!) I use this peel every three to four weeks, and I’ve been using this for about four months now. I keep it on for about ten minutes, but it can be worn for less and be just as effective. Essentially, if it tingles a lot, you probably don’t want to keep it on for a full ten minutes–go with what feels right for your skin.
My skin always feels ridiculously soft–almost so soft that it has a plumper feel to it–after I rinse off the peel with water. It’s honestly like a super skin treat each month when I use it. I’ve had a couple of facials, which are always enjoyable, but this is the next best thing for those of us who don’t have a budget that allows for regular facials. I find that my skin looks and feels smoother, brighter, and glowy (and stays that way for three to four days after). I love that this doesn’t irritate or redden my skin post-rinse, which means I don’t have to plan ahead about when to use it. I do personally like to use it on a Friday night, an hour or two before bed, as an end-of-the-week indulgence.
The jar I purchased several months ago is still quite full, like 85%, (you don’t need much for each peel, and it’s a product that you only use a couple of times a month), but even so, when there was a deal for 50% off, I had to pick up another. I always think about having my mom try it, but I fear she’ll get hooked and I want my backup jar! It wouldn’t even surprise me, because of all the moisturizers I’ve given my mom, her favorite is La Mer.

It sounds like a great product and the fact it’s like berry scented and what not appeals to me more, however, the price does not. For that price I wouldn’t touch it just ’cause I don’t have that much money to put on 1 product.
thank you for the review 🙂 i’m wanting to purchase it.. looks super yummy!!
Looks like jam, yum!
maybe if I saw it half price but not full price. actually I’m pretty fond of korres yogurt mask for a gentle hydrating non-abrasive formula.
Where can you purchase this product? Is it online only?
Mostly just online I believe!
About how much do you use, Christine?
Maybe 1/2 tsp?
What a fantastically indulgent product. I think I’d have trouble resisting a taste, too. But that’s wonderful that it works so well! You know what they say, you get what you pay for =]
I think I will confuse it with my homemade jam…
Haha!
The price seems reasonable to me, if it does what you say it does and lasts as long as yours has. I think people that use drugstore exfoliants don’t know what a high-grade exfoliant can do for you, especially if you’re not 21. In 10 minutes, my skin will be clear, brighter and softer for a week, rather than having to use something of less quality every day AND night and put more elbow grease into it. Ugh. No thanks. I’m definitely interested in this.
This doesn’t have Fragrance(Parfum) in it right?
The ingredient list is photographed above! 🙂
Guess what Christine, for the most part those ingredients look safe to eat. If it works that great on your face, think of what it could do to your toast! Go for the taste test!
Wow, that’d be some expensive jelly! =P
This looks great! I would definitely pick this up on a half off deal… For full price, though, I’m not sure that my skin needs something like this that bad! I would totally have tasted it, though! Just a little, to see 😉
i wonder which would be cheaper, buying this product or recreating it? because it seems to all-natural, so why not make your own concoction? haha but you’re right, christine. i don’t have the $$$ to spend on facials, so this seems like a great alternative!
Nope! Not for me…I would eat this, I am sure of it! lol
Sounds like a great product! How does this compare to ExfoliKate? I know you like that product too. I already have ExfoliKate and I agree with your previous review of it! Just wondering if I should check out this product too or if I could skip it. 😉
I feel like the effects are longer lasting and my skin feels smoother than ExfoliKate (which I still use about 2x per week, and then I use Renee Rouleau’s peel every few weeks). HTH! 🙂
Thanks, Christine! Yes your answer was quite helpful. 🙂 Gotta see if they have another sale in the next upcoming months!
I’d probably end up eating it…it looks so delicious. That’s some expensive jam/skincare, though.
This sounds absolutely lovely! I’m going to have to try it as soon as I can hunt it down. Thanks so much for the review!

Oh, my. I do assume that this’ll last more than five tries, but for me getting a monthly chemical peel (which is probably stronger and more effective than this) at the dermatologist is twenty bucks each time. That twenty bucks also covers these awesomesauce injections that make whatever pimples I have go away after about an hour, and an appointment with my doctor wherein she gives me prescriptions. For the price of this I can do that four times and still have 5 bucks for a sandwich, or something.
You’re very lucky 🙂 None of that would be covered by my insurance and would be $100s!
Oh great! Now I want to try yet another pricey skin treatment! Looks fab – sounds fab. I just hate to pop $85 for something however. It’s a lactic and fruit acid peal, so not that it has not been done cheaper out there. Just not as pleasant as this one maybe. Since I just popped $90 for a $165 tube of Kate Sommerville Exfolikate, I won’t be able to justify another scrub for some time. Need new lawnmower, new vacuum, new carpet shampooer, new microwave! If it were not for house/car needs, I could and would blow a ton more on skin products and make-up.
ExfoliKate is awesome, though 🙂 Watch for sales, too – I had to grab another when there was a 50% off code for it!
Thanks for the Review. I’ve been wanting to try their products, this especially, but I don’t like that they don’t guarantee their products. They only give exchanges and that’s not enough for me at these prices.
Okay my head just exploded from looking at this, it’s pleasure overload!!!
is the only place to purchase it at the namesake website? and where do you sign up to get the discount, when it’s offered?
As far as I know, yes – I think she must sell them at her spa locations, too.
I saw the discount when @ReneeRouleau tweeted about it.
Where can I buy this product?? I really want to buy it.
reneerouleau.com
I’m pretty sure I’d eat this! :/
sorry if this is a silly question, but how come this does not have a grade?
I’m not rating skincare products with a letter grade at this time – I’m still trying to determine whether I will use any kind of rating system, just because skincare is very, very individual and I’m not sure if one system would be comprehensive enough to work!
gotchya! thanks! i see where you are coming from!
where’s the grade??

Sounds like a product I’d like to try.
Do you know where it’s available? And where do you find your 50 per cent off vouchers?
Thx. S
Renee Rouleau – it’s linked in the very beginning of the post 🙂
I caught the last one when @ReneeRouleau tweeted about it – I don’t expect to see that kind of deal any time soon, though.
When does Renee Rouleau have 50% sales?? I love Renee Rouleau but can never afford to buy anything from her (I ordered once – LOVED the products – my favorite skin care line!) if Renee ever has any sales, could you let us know? 🙂
Lucky Mag had a code out a couple of months ago for this particular product for 50% off 🙂 I follow her on Twitter so that’s how I found out!
lucky you! I am not on twitter so I’ll miss out :-(. I get her emails though – wonder why she never offers anything for her email listserv :-(. When I get a job the first thing I’m going to purchase is a Renee Rouleau order – my skin really needs it! thanks for introducing me to her line!!!
The 50% off was from Lucky Magazine!
It looks soooo edible!
how did you manage to get ExfoliKate 50% off?Can you mention such kind of special sales please???thanks!
I’ve said before that it was you Christine who got me interested in Renee Rouleau products in the first place! 🙂
It’s Renee’s products that have me in loooveeee!! I seriously love her products. There were a couple that didn’t work out for me (the face moisturize with SPF, and the Daytime Blemish Gel), but everything else (toners, serums, facial cleansers) is fantastic! I’ve found a lot of my holy grail stuff, though it is really expensive. I’m waiting for her anniversary sale in August (15% off), or if she ever has a sale before that! I want this triple berry peel!
If it makes your skin so nice how do you resist using it more often?! If my skin looked amazing for the next 4 days you can bet your bottom dollar I’ll slap more of that jam on my face on day 5!
Okay I just saw the price =O!
It’s pretty strong, so it’s only recommended 1-3 times a month, and since I love exfoliating, I use other products 2x a week, then save this as a treat 😉
Hey, I know not many people read comments, but if you want a similar product (not at all similar looking, but the exact same results Christine is talking about here) you should try MyChelle Incredible Pumpkin Peel. It’s like $27 and it’s all natural. They even do a trial sized one for like $5. Seriously people, check it out. It’s the best exfoliating mask EVER.
Thanks I’ll check that out. $85 is way too much money to commit for something that you can’t even return if it doesn’t work out.
And the MyChelle Fruit Fiesta peel is almost EXACTLY the same as this Renee Rouleau one; I have tried both and they are VERY similar! The Mychelle fruit fiesta also looks like jam (a bit lighter colored though), has the raspberry seeds and all, and the ingredients are pretty similar I believe. that said, the Renee Rouleau one smelled better. Since I just tried a one-time sample of the Renee Rouleau one, I cannot comment on which one worked better…they seemed really similar to me.
I’m really interested in using this product and I’d be willing to spend that much if it really does work amazingly well. However, the fact that I can’t get this product offline to check it out in person and that the website does not offer returns, it’s hard for me to justify the price because essentially, I’d be making a gamble…
Renee Rouleau will do exchanges though…so if you spend that much and don’t like it you can exchange for another product OR she’ll send a gift card for that amount; since so many of her products are good I bet you’ll find something you like even if this doesn’t work out. I’d go for it 😀
PLEASE keep us posted with another 50% for Renee Rouleau products- THEY ARE THE BOMB!!!!
I purchased this product about two years ago. It’s not something I use much; rather, when my skin looks/feels like it needs a little extra something, I will use this instead of a more abrasive exfoliant. I find, however, that my skin cannot tolerate having this product on it for more than five minutes; my skin is rather sensitive. I use the entire Renée Rouleau skin care line, and my skin has responded very well to it.
Hey Christine I was looking at this and your ExfoliKate review, and was wodnering how do the two compare? Do you have a favourite as the two are very similar in prices I was wondering about the results of each. Thanks!
The two are different – like this, you use once a week or less. ExfoliKate is better for regular exfoliation, while Renee Rouleau is more of a treatment/mask.
Thanks for the response! I really want to try the Renee Rouleau one out. 🙂 On a separate note wanted to say how much I love your website, keep up the great work!
Thank you, Haroulla!
Hi Christine! I was wondering since you use a little bit once a month, do you think this will go bad after a year or so?
No, I don’t think so!
