You should try Hemp hand protector from The Body Shop. Its amazing. Totally moisturizing and brilliant. There is a handy handbag size too.

I love my hands being moisturized but I am picky when it comes to smell and quality of hand creams. Because I have noticed that many that smell great don’t moisturize well. Whats the difference between hand cream and body cream anyway?

I would say that my favorite hand cream is from the Bath & Body Works True Blue Spa line… I think it’s called “Look Ma, New Hands.”

It has a little bit of citrus in it so I feel like it gets into the dry patches my hands get and really helps them stay moisturized.

I LOVE hand cream and HATE ‘regular’ lotion! Hand cream actually feels like it’s absorbing into your skin and not just leaving a greasy layer on top. During the winter, it’s the only thing that helps my dry hands. My favorite right now is the original moisturizing creme by Eucerin. =)

Love hand cream. I’m like an old woman before I go to bed as I have to put on lip balm and hand cream! lol

My hands get so dry in the winter it’s a must. I love Nivea Soft intensive moisturizing creme. It’s light, smells nice but isn’t overpowering, works super well and is under $10 for a large pot at any drug store / Wal-mart type place.

I hate creams that are too greasy, won’t absorbe and are badly scented.

I hate creams that dont moisturize well. But I love how L’ Occitaine Lavender hand cream moisturizes my hands. What I also like about the hand cream is that the lavender scent isn’t overpowering.

Origins had one that was great and absorbed quickly — wish I could remember the name. There was a brand a few years ago called Heavy Duty that had a fantastic orange scent, but I haven’t seen it in stores for quite a while. I’m more concerned about sunscreen for my hands, but when they get super dry in winter, I’ll use a scented beeswax balm.

I hate hand cream. I think I have weird sensory issues, because I can’t stand the feel of having anything on my hands (lotion, food when I’m cooking, etc.). I have oily skin so fortunately I can get away with skipping moisturizer most of the time! šŸ™‚

Love it! My Mum’s always used Nivea (the one in the dark blue tub) and that’s what I use every night before bed too. šŸ™‚ Or increasingly the white one (the light version), because I get bad “under chin acne” probably due to putting my hands by my face when asleep and the cream blocking my pores – or that’s my theory anyway. But I will switch to the blue one come winter anyway.

I love the idea of a lux hand cream because it’s a relatively cheap thing but is definitely an easy way to pamper yourself that you don’t also have to worry about (v. makeup or skincare which can cause breakouts or wear wrong etc).

I love L’Occitane’s mini hand lotions and also Crabtree and Evelyn’s Hand Therapy. The C&E are a bit greasier feeling, so I use them at night or with cotton gloves as an intensive treatment but carry the L’Occitane ones on my person. My favorite is the Cherry Blossom scent. And though not strictly a lotion or for the hands, L’Occitane’s Grape Beauty Body Oil is AMAZING for making my hands feel silky smooth. Lasts well too. =)

I have SUPER dry skin, and with the crazy cold Canadian winter approaching,I’m DOOMED! I can’t find one that works, smells nice, and lasts long. Le sigh. So I guess it’s all rant and no rave for me (yet!)

I hate hand creams. I find I never have dry hands, which is good because I’m very particular about scents (and sensitive to some). So, I have no use of them and it’s really hard to find a scent that won’t make me feel sick.

I don’t use hand creams or lotions too often, unless it comes with a perfume set I love.

It starts out with me putting it on religiously for a week and then I just forget about it. So for me to invest in an expensive hand cream wouldn’t be in my best financial interest.

I admire those that can keep themselves pampered and primped to a tee.

love love love my hand cream in the winter. i’m a huge fan of the vaseline hand cream, i think it smells good and def keeps my hands in check

I’m picky about lotions – I don’t want them to be too strongly scented, but I don’t like that weird old-people smell that a lot of unscented ones have. And for hand cream, I HATE the ones that leave a residue so you’re leaving slippery fingerprints on everything.

My personal fave is Aveeno Intense Hand Therapy – it works, but it doesn’t leave my hands all slimy, and it doesn’t smell like anything at all. I also like Curel fast-absorbing hand and cuticle cream.

I like OPI Avojuices. I bought six little bottles recently. They are handy to carry in your purse. The texture is light and the cream is absorbed quickly.

I LOVE the Handy Gurugu & Smitten, both LUSH. Since I have been using the Handy Gurugu my hands are much softer and I love the smell šŸ˜‰
They both absorb quick and leave your hands smooth and soft.

I hate hand cream for the fact that i have to remember to use it!!! I have really dry hands, thanks to being one of those popsicle Canadians in winter and gardening all summer.
I hard on my hands and usually can’t be bothered to sit there being all greasy.
I prefer Skin So Soft bath oil but then I can’t touch anything for a few minutes. Whatever it is, it has to absorb QUICKLY. I have no patience.

I loved last year (or the year before) limited christmass edition of Yves Rocher’s hand cream, smelled so good and kept my hands hydrated even after sevral hand wash and the cold winter.

I never wore hand cream for the longest time because I hated how it felt. I got sick of having dry, old looking hands with cracked nails and nasty cuticles, though, so I realized I had to start moisturizing. I’m really liking the tubes of ultra moisturizing lotion sold at Sally Beauty and the OPI for Sephora cream. Both soak right in and comes in unscented, which is perfect because I hate scented lotion. Who wants some sort of candy apple dreck competing with their perfume? My nails still aren’t perfect, but they are stronger and break less.

firepail Avatar

I love Curel’s fast absorbing hand and cuticle cream–I keep one in the office and one on my nightstand.

I like O.P.I’s Avojuice, but you have to be careful when picking one out because some of them are sickly sweet scented or have glitter/shimmer in them. I accidentally bought Candy Cane, and while the scent isn’t that bad, it’s like white shimmery stage makeup on my hands.

I’m a climber which means I get chalk over my hands on a regular basis. Hand cream is absolutely essential– I usually just use whatever’s available. Cheap lotion. Glaxal Base works really nicely. I prefer scent free creams as I already wear perfume and I don’t need smells mingling!

Daisy Avatar

Its hard to find a good hand cream at a decent price, at least so far, it has been for me. A hand cream needs to be absorbed really quickly, allowing you to keep going and not having to take a 10min break to wait for the cream to be absorbed. Also the scent is very important. Right now I have a drugstore brand hand cream which works great and has a low price but the scent is awful. Before this I had a tube of The Bodyshop almond oil hand cream which had a lovely scent but took forever to be absorbed. So the search continues..

I personally don’t like heavy handcreams that leave oil residue behind especally for everyday use.

My favorite is the Bath and Body Work Hand Lotion in “Cucumber”, it’s on of my favorite scents ever!
I like that whole Hand Lotion line actually, they come with delicious scents, they absorb fast (no gross oil residue), and they have ati-baterial properities inside. So they don’t just moisturize, they sanitize my hands at the same time!

I’m another one that loves L’Occitane lavender and Body Shop Hemp hand creams. I do pottery and deal with New England winters so my hands take a beating. Those are the lotions I can always rely on! Burt’s Bees lemon cuticle cream is a nice addition too.

I also can’t stand having anything too heavily-scented on my hands and getting up into my face. All of those have light, natural scents that don’t bother me. The worst I’ve tried was the “energizing” Bath and Body Works aromatherapy lotion. I had to go scrub it off because it started giving me a headache after a few minutes!
