I am absolutely in love with the Bliss Foaming Facial Cleanser. It minimizes the look of my pores, removes the makeup and oil from my face, but doesn’t dry me out. Since I switched to it a couple of weeks ago, I can honestly say that I see a huge improvement in my skin.
Purity Made Simple by PHILOSOPHY 😀 😀 :D. makes your skin SUPER soft
Love: Shu Uemura clensing oils
Hate: Clinique’s facial soap, or whatever it is
Love: Avène Cleanance K (I know Avène is not quite popular in the USA, but here in Europe it’s my favourite)
In the morning no matter what season, I use generic cetaphil, at night I’m currently using Aveeno Positively Radiant Foaming Cleanser that you recommended, I like it so far but it’s not as good at removing eye make up as the Ultra Calming Foaming Cleanser.
I just started using the Angels on bare skin facial cleanser/gently exfoliator from LUSH and I am in love so far…I have had a hard time finding a cleanser that doesnt break me out and so far I have only used it twice and I love it…makes my skin super smooth and it actaully looks like its helping my acne…my makeup goes on smoother now too!
dont know about best or worst but most humorously marketed facial cleanser would be aveenos postively radiance cleanser which suggests that radiance consists of depositing tiny bits of gold glitter on your face!
Cetaphil, clarins or chanel exfoliator are all my favorite. They all leave my face feeling clean and smelling fresh…love
LOVE the Microfine Refinisher from MAC. Used 2-3 times a week, it makes my skin feel sooooooo soft, and actually helps with my acne like nothing else has yet. A tube has lasted me more than 6 months now.
Im not really into the foam facial cleansers. But I have been searching an affordable alternative cleanser to replace my L’Occitane Rice cleanser. For my nightly routine I love using Olay’s Cleansing wipes. Its quick, simple, and easy.
Rave: Cetaphil Antibacterial Cleansing Bar is amazing. Cleanses great without over drying. Plus barely has a scent.
Rant: The worst cleanser I’ve EVER used is Avon’s Clearskin Cleanser. This was years ago so I’m sure the formula has changed. I washed my face with this and moments later my skin felt and looked BURNT UP.
I was just given Bobbi Brown’s oil cleanser, the idea of which really freaked me out at first because of my previous acne probs. But, it’s actually just extra creamy and doesn’t leave any deposit on my skin. It’s very nice and gentle, especially for a Minnesota winter.
Worst: I hate all Clinique skincare. Period. Horrible, harsh and chemical stuff.
I hate how hard it is to find a good cleanser that just cleans, and that isn’t designed to do like 50 other things. I just want it cleaned, not stripped down and scrubbed! I also hate how you can almost NEVER find a cleanser that is designed for acne that doesn’t dry your skin out. I generally have bad luck with acne products, probably because they are drying and the medicated ingredients. OH and when you look for something for sensitive skin, but they only come in formulas that are super heavy, because for some reason companies seem to think that sensitive = dry. You can have sensitive skin and still be super oily or acne prone here people!
I’ve been using Herbalism though for at least a year and a half with no gripes (when I strayed for a few months to the Body Shop Tea Tree cleanser, my skin was a grease pit), and I just got some samples from Mario Badescu (got the Enzyme cleanser) and will see if I can use the cleanser as a nice deeper cleaning night cleanser!
Hey Ashley. I use Avène Cleanance K and it’s great. It helps with acne and doesn’t dry your skin. It has thermal water, so it’s really gentle but it cleans like no other.
I’ll have to check that out! How long does it last you? I’d rather not spend a lot of money on something that only lasts a month!
I love facial cleansers! Clean skin is a must. I like Purity from Philosophy for winter and Clinique’s liquid soap for oily skin for summer. (I have fairly oily skin, but it’s started to get dry this winter which is why I switched to Purity)
My fav is Neutrogena Fresh Foaming Cleanser, the on e in the blue pump. It is my one product I’ve bought several times because it removes eye makeup(haven’t tried taking waterproof off yet). But I really like it.
I like lathering cleansers that leave no residue, and which do more than move oil & dirt around. They’re unbelievably hard to find. The foaming cleansers that are dispensed in pumps are usually weak, and I have to wash my face 2x before feeling clean. The problem is that most cleansers labeled for sensitive skin don’t clean…Hence my problem.
I absolutely love purity by Philosophy…both the original and the foaming one.It is the only that I feel like it CLEAN my skin without strip off my face. It left my skin very soft and it does not break me out, which is always a plus. I usually bought a big huge bottle and it last me through the whole year!!!!
Cetaphil however break me out terribly!!! I know a lot of people hs used them and they said that it was the best thing ever, but it break me out from the very first time I used them….so I guess no cetaphil for me 🙁
really love ole henriksen’s on the go cleanser, in this orangey scent. i feel like it cleans better than purity cleanser does, and doesnt seem harsh. it lathers sooo well too so you dont need to use a lot
hate- uhm gee idk ive never met a cleanser i didnt like
A good one can be hard to find. I tried MAC Lightful Foaming Cleanser, but I don’t think it’s worth the price. Neutrogena Rapid Clear Oil-Removing Foaming Cleanser works better and is 1/3 the price.
I LOVE Skyn Iceland’s Glacial Face Wash – it leaves a cool fresh skin that feels tight and squeaky clean. For a scrub I use the Sephora brand Face Combination to Oily Skin Deep Down Cleanser: I just can’t get enough of the workable gel texture, it’s just the right consistency.
Also I had the best scrubbing experience with Malin+Goetz Jojoba Face Scrub, thanks to which I never had any major acne related problems for a year!
Now the others I’ve used were not really earth-shattering. I used to use Malin+Goetz Grapefruit Face Cleanser and before that Sisley Paris Buff and Wash Botanical Facial Gel (I’m not sure it’s very well known in the States but it’s sorta big in Europe), but neither made me incredibly happy. They were alright I guess but I was looking for a creamier, denser product. MAC Oil Cleanser was really good for taking off waterproof make-up but not really for cleansing. Caudalie Instant Foaming Cleanser was so so, not bad but merely underwhelming. I had Bliss Steep Clean Toner Pads but their scent was throwing me off, not to mention the redness I had to deal with afterwards..
HTH!
I love Philosophy purity made simple facial cleanser! Works wonders on my skin. It really strips your face from the dirt & make-up you’ve accumulated throughout the day but doesn’t leave your skin dry.
I tried using La Mer’s foaming facial cleanser but it didn’t work well for me. It did not thoroughly clean my face & it made me break out.
I love Philosophy Purity cleanser. I’ve been hearing a lot of good things about it and I recently purchased the $40 bottle. I’ve been using it for almost a week now and seriously, my skin is supperrrr soft. I really DO NOT have soft skin and my skin is pretty rough. It’s clear but not soft. It also does a pretty good job removing my makeup as well. My new LOVEE!
I absolutely LOVE Cetaphil’s Daily Cleanser. It’s the best cleanser I’ve used to date. It’s gentle on my skin & keeps my skin moisturized. I have dry skin on my cheeks & around my nose & mouth area. This cleanser really helps plus it’s only around $6. It’s a win win for me! 😀
iiiiii looooove boscias clear complexion cleanser w/botanical blast! its magic to my skin<3
For acne prone skin I LOVE Lush Fresh Farmacy. I live by that for breakouts and It has helped clear my skin so much. But It is a little drying(hence why it’s good for oily acne prone skin). My new favorite to balance that drying out is Lush Angels on bare skin. LOVE LOVE LOVE it. It feels oily to the touch but it’s really not when used. my skin looks great.
