Formula Overview
$17.07/0.14 oz. - $121.93 Per Ounce
The formula is supposed to dry down to a "budgetproof finish" that can be applied with "fingers or a brush" that can be used as an "accent colour" or "one and done" whether that's at full coverage or diffused for a "wash of colour."
They are pigmented in a single layer using a fingertip, but they can be built up with a fluffy brush or sheered out with fingertips or a fluffy brush for a sheerer wash of product if desired. The texture was a drier cream initially--very thin, lightweight, and had some emollience but didn't feel wet to the touch. It had about 15 to 30 seconds of working time and then dried down to a powder-like finish that was transfer-resistant.
I found the formula easy to work with as the colors went on evenly, blended out nicely along the edges, and didn't settle into fine lines/creases as they dried down. They wore eight to nine hours on me before creasing faintly.

Fractal Freesia
Phytosurgence Fractal Freesia Flash Florescence Cream Shadow ($17.07 for 0.14 oz.) is a medium, golden peach base with flecks of lighter gold sparkle that gave it a shiny, almost wet-looking, twinkle. It was described by the brand as having a “translucent base,” so the underlying sheerness was as claimed, and it was designed to be used as a “topper.”
- Semi-sheer, buildable coverage
- Lightweight, thin but emollient enough to spread evenly
- High-shine, wet-looking sparkle
- Long-wearing (10 hours without fading/creasing)

With only my usual browbone shade, I could very easily get a full look with just these two eyeshadows! Whip on my eyeliners and mascara and BOOM!
I really like Defiant Dahlia – it does not seem to be too dark, yet it lets the warmer undertones show through.
I was trying to resist trying Phytosurgence for a while (basically due to over-saturation of the makeup market recent has just given me fatigue of the whole thing). However I finally caved and got some Skin Spark blushes and Florescence eyeshadows, and OMG the hype is real for both of these products, they are amazing. Love the eyeshadows for ease of use (with fingers and brushes), longevity, and the colors are so well balanced and I have 4-5 of the them that are true one and dones. The blush formula is amazing, it has never disturbed my base makeup (I always apply over my setting powder) and they blend so effortlessly. Again the colors are works of art with amazing flattering undertones and apply so well with a brush. Okay ending my ode to Phytosurgence now 😉
