Pat McGrath Lust Gloss Shade Extensions for Spring 2019
Heavy Petal, Faux Real and Secret Lover have my keen interest! I *may* allow myself just one, depending of course on how they do when reviewed should you decide to review them.
There are several I think look very pretty, but I rarely wear gloss, and certainly not any at that price point. Lovely, but not for me.
For reason the name Astral Flashdance made me laugh.
Looking at the swatches Iām hoping it means that some of these are going to be much less sheer than the existing shades.
I like Aphrodisiac, Heavy Petal and Secret Lover.
Quite a few of these look very pretty, but I am not “allowed” to buy anymore lipstick for awhile.
Some of these shade names are icky to me, like Carnal Desire and Peach Perversion. Astral Moon Flower (love the name) looks blue in the tube but gold in the swatch…?
Heavy Petal is gorgeous. I’m very tempted by that and the already-existing Paraphernalia and Blood 2. Astral Flashdance and Astral Moon Flower look gorgeous in the tube, but I don’t love the swatches– I’ll need to see them in action before I make any decisions, especially considering I’m going to have to save up my money to get any of these!
I feel like I’m going to be begrudgingly turned into a gloss person before I die.
Just went to check out with my PMG basket for the pre-sale on the glosses and took note of the following:
If you use the discount code for 10%, the system automatically adds a shipping charge. For me, this is $9.99 to Canada. If you do not use the discount code, the shipping is free. The additional shipping charge essentially negates the discount code. I think the difference is less than 4 dollars on my order that I would āsaveā.
This set my teeth on edge. There is nothing worse than feeling you are being nickle and dimed by a process. I reached out to customer service who offered to refund the shipping charge, whereas I feel the shipping charge should never have applied.
Was it because discount took it below the free shipping threshold or was there no way to get free shipping?
Possibly! The order total was over 200. So regardless, Iām reevaluating. ?
In my experience, some promos that are % off will still require you meet the free shipping threshold *after* discount to get it (I’ve seen it in enough fine print), so if that’s the case, it wouldn’t be a big deviation from standard (based on what I’ve seen), but no free shipping on $200+ is a bummer regardless! I loathe paying for shipping!
Wow, I’m stunned by that! (I’m an ex-pat Canadian and empathize with the obligatory shipping costs, then tariffs on most orders).
P.S. your glasses and hair look awesome.
Kind words. Thanks, Suzanne! ?
If I add CA$214 worth of products (e/s palette @CA$175 + gloss @CA$39) I see no shipping charge (with or without the 10% discount), but I have to pay duties of CA$31.46.
However, the CA$9.00 shipping charge shows up though if the value of my cart if CA$175 (with/without promo code). I think the threshold for us, Canadians, is at CA$200.
value *is* (not if)
Thanks for that info, Nicole. Oy, quite the threshold! I frequently see $150 cad. This is great to know for future reference.
Iām taking a step back as time and this minor annoyance has cooled my ardour… thankfully.
Yes, it’s quite the threshold. When I saw the final amount, my impulse of placing the order instantly vanished. I prefer to wait for the items to be available online at Sephora CA.
Also, have you noticed that the same products are more expensive on her website than at Sephora? Lips gloss: CA$39 vs $36; Mothership palettes CA$175 vs $170; MTHRSHP Mini palettes: CA$76 vs $70. Add to this the shipping, duties& taxes. I don’t get it tbh.
Are these new colors only going to be available to Pat McGrath online store? Or will Sephora carry them as well? Thank you
Im tempted to purchase one of the trios, but they are not eligible for the discount. I have Divine Rose from the original collection, bit I find it paler and much less shimmery than the pictured swatch. That disappointed me when I purchased it. I do like the smooth, nonstick formula of these though.
I’m not a big fan of glosses. Being a big fan of PMG I bought her first vault of glosses and wasn’t impressed. So I won’t be purchasing any even though they do look pretty.
In general, I am not a big gloss fan or user. However, I picked up Flesh Astral several months ago and I really love it. I like the look and feel of it and carry it in my purse for quick re-application. I am sticking by my no buy-low buy but come July when I am in Seattle I will check these out and see what I think.
I am going to see Adam Lambert and 1/2 of Queen in July and so excited. Queen has always been my favorite band and I kept himing and hawing about going since it really isn’t Queen without Freddie and John but I will never have a chance to see them so decided this was the next best thing. It was my birthday present to myself last week!! Anyway, I can only check out the PMGL products when I am in Seattle as they don’t carry in store in Spokane, Missoula or Kalispell.
Pat McGrath Luster Gloss Shade Extensions for Spring 2019 and very good and recommend.
