Pat McGrath Divine Blush Collection Swatches
Pat McGrath Divine Blush Collection debuted earlier this month with the release of a new formula–a cream blush–along with a new, limited edition quad and a highlighter/balm duo. Here are swatches of the new products!
Due to hearing a few respectable YouTube reviewers mentioning how these stay balmy and wet feeling, I don’t know how I feel about that with the oppressive heat that we get here. Stuff may just slide off my face!
These really don’t look great, and they ought to for the prices. The packaging is also shockingly cheap looking. Pat McGrath has really lost its creative edge.
I think the blushes look a little patchy, although they might be fine once on the cheeks. The eye quad is OK – quite like the Sienna Moonlight shade, but the other shades are very similar to her previous rose themed editions.
The variation in color on these would not make much of an impact on my skin tone. All look quite pretty.
Forbidden Fleur is pretty but I just started a strict “no buy” after discovering that I’m drowning in blush. I’ve bought blush indiscriminately over the last 9-12 months and many have either only been swatched or not even opened. It’s embarrassing.
It seems like all the blush sticks are pretty similar. I love blush sticks, but this is not impressive.
The blush sticks don’t look like they’re worth paying PMG prices to get. The eye shadow palette looks really nice but it also looks like stuff we’ve seen from the brand before. I do love me a good rabbit-eye palette, though, so I might be tempted by that.
I like one of the eyeshadows in the quad, Plum Nocturne and that’s it.
I think the blushes look cheap, the packaging, I mean. Maybe it’s because the packaging is pink, but I like pink, I don’t know, I just don’t care for it.
I do hope it turns out that it’s all stellar products, for all who love PMG and are longing for some newness.
Holding out for your review, as I’ve seen some YouTubers say they were surprisingly impressed with the ColourBalms and found them to have quite good wear, with the price point (relatively low for a PMG product) translating to the less ornate packaging but making them more accessible. I don’t trust anyone like Temptalia though, so haven’t cracked open the low-buy wallet yet.
I tried the peony and lotus at Sephora. Really disappointed, the shades are beautiful. But it smeared like gel over my foundation. The swatches on my arm looked like a bruise. I feel like the packaging was a tie in for the Barbie movie that never got finalized. It felt like play makeup. I am a big PMG fan. It hurts to say, save your money.
