I’ll have to see swatches, but the shift in these look amazing. See, I want to crash space stations with the glow from my cheeks so I’m very much interested in this launch! I’ve been more interested in Ofra since their rebranding, it looks more sleek and modenr.

Hmm, I’m thinking Cloud 9 could work on me if I used it with just bronzer or a brownish rose blush? Otherwise, it could look crazy with my coloring.

Love her tutorials on applying eyeshadow. She’s very talented. That said, I’m not a fan of the strong highlighters. I prefer a more subtle look, so it’s an easy pass for me.

Pretty highlighters, but I decided ages ago I prefer matte or satin blush. Plus, while she does some interesting looks, I’m not a fan of her heavy handed methods. I get her message about the transforming power of makeup, but I still see it as masking more than anything.

HeidiSomething, I totally agree about how some people use makeup as masking. That’s fine if that’s what they like, but I’d love to see a “power of makeup” video using a full face of less obvious makeup (does that make sense?), in which the woman’s best features are the star at the end, not the makeup itself. I also think that some of the really strong highlighters can look quite pretty and subtle when using the right brush and a super light hand, so you see just a hint of it when the light hits it at just the right angle (rather than beaming into space!!).

I don’t know who this Nikkie person is (though I’ve heard her name before) but the one thing that struck me from these pics (besides the “seen from the ISS” glow) is that you would think a company – any company – putting money into promoting this would be able to find her a jacket that fit properly. As someone who sews, the first thing I noticed was the dreadful fit and all the pulling and wrinkles in that pink jacket. I know, I know – I should be talking about this at patternreviews.com!

You’re right about the pink jacket, though. I don’t think it was made for someone as tall and big-busted as she is. The color is lovely on her, but the fit looks awful.

Lol! I’m not the only one who noticed the lousy jacket fitting at first I thought maybe is silky and wrinkle easily but now I see it just needs a size larger. I haven’t seen her videos either is time to take a look maybe I’ll learn something but don’t like overly done makeup style at all her eyes look so sunken in the first picture. Just way too if everything. I bet she looks more pretty a lot more natural.

I just want to say something about commenting on other people’s choices, because there’s a fine line between your styles not syncing up and therefore it not being a good fit for you to watch/learn from, which is totally fine, to holding other people up to your personal standards of beauty instead of encouraging personal style. NikkieTutorials is known for heavier makeup and that’s her style and preference, which is OK; she doesn’t need to be told she isn’t pretty enough or that she’d be prettier without (that’s such a backwards compliment). It’s just not fair to hold her up to your standards of what is pretty or not and effectively call her “ugly.” That is part of what makes makeup great – you can use it as you want, whether that’s 20 products or 2 products with a heavy hand or a light hand. It’s all beautiful.
