OCC Lament Lip Tar Review, Photos, Swatches

OCC Lament Lip Tar

OCC Lament Lip Tar ($18.00 for 0.33 fl. oz.) is described as a “neutral rose beige.” It’s a light-medium, muted orange–not quite peach, not quite true orange, and it’s not as bright as you might expected. Melt Cosmetics Summer! (P, $19.00) is brighter. MAC Enchanted One (LE, $16.00) is pinker. Too Faced Melted Nude (P, $21.00) is more muted, more beige. MAC Close Contact (LE, $16.00) is lighter. Givenchy Beige Mousseline (101) (P, $36.00) is slightly darker. MAC Antonio’s Girls (LE, $16.00) is pinker. NARS Biscayne Park (P, $25.00) is darker. MAC Wholesome (LE, $16.00) is yellower. MAC Nearly Nude (LE, $16.00) is lighter. See comparison swatches / view dupes.

The consistency was thin but not watery, easy to spread but didn’t feather or bleed along the edge of the natural lip line, and it felt like most Lip Tars do (and I only note this since two of the six fall shades were a little runny). It had excellent color payoff that yielded full color coverage with little product, and the color itself stayed on well for almost six hours before starting to break down. It was neither drying nor hydrating on me, and it didn’t feel clingy, so it was pretty comfortable to wear.

We appreciate enthusiasm for new releases but ask readers to please hold questions regarding if/when a review will be posted as we can't commit to or guarantee product reviews. We don't want to set expectations and then disappoint readers as even products that are swatched don't always end up being reviewed due to time constraints and changes in priorities! SIX hours? Do you not move? Haha I just cant seem to make ANY lip product to stay more than, say, two hours? I scratch my lower lip on my front teeth for one, and then I drink and eat. Any tips maybe for stayinigpower?

Most lipsticks last between three and four hours for me, but Lip Tars are a long-wearing formula in general as they’re so pigmented and less emollient (they don’t slip around or transfer 100% onto your cup)! The big tip I learned was not to lick/bite lips, as that can really bring down wear!

Nope, definitely have not tried that one. It looks kind of similar to MAC Touch…although different finish entirely but that’s probably a good thing since lustres last like 2 seconds on me. Will definitely have to try this one! Thanks Christine!

Just wanted to say THANK YOU! I picked up Taupe like 3 weeks ago and I pretty much fell in love with it. It’s got enough red or pink, idk something so it looks nude but doesn’t make me look dead. I keep gravitating towards it every morning so it’s just chilling in my purse. Thanks!
