Actually a korean makeuo brand named Etude House used to have this kind of oil tint, just only in one collection, as I recall, Miss Tangerine Collection. And I think the other brands in Korea used to have this kind of tint too since cosmetic companies there tend to follow every beauty innovation. But I think this kind of tint might not popular there.

The concept makes it sound a bit like Fyrinnae’s Lip Lustre, which I love but I do wish they have more colors! Do you plan to review these, Christine?

Argh! Ordered Drive Me Copper cause I’ve been curious about this formula and thought, “oh why not?” Then went back and ordered Undress Me, Rose You and Cherry My Cherry “for further research purposes.” FML LOL

Shelley Avatar

I found out about these a few months ago and I have several in my online basket as we speak. Not ready to pull the trigger just yet. Gonna wait on further reviews but the concept sounds pretty great….just concerned about the level of pigmentation…is it gonna be enough for my pigmented lips? That’s the million dollar question.

Katie Avatar

Oh! I tried these two months ago at a special Sephora University event and it was totally awesome! The oil reacts to your lips and it changes colors and stains. Be weary if your lips are sensitive but otherwise I though it was a great product!

Ooh, I’m curious! I already have the YSL Rouge Pur Glossy Stain, and those are nice — pigmented, hydrating, long lasting. I wonder how this formula will be different. Hope you do some reviews and swatches.

I saw these at the Sephora University event they held back in October. I wasn’t impressed. They are super sheer, with barely a hint of color. They seemed like they were modeled after the Josie Maran argan oil cheek and lip tints, only less pigmented.

Christine, do you have a personal TF BOY favorite? And also I was curious if you knew of a true yellow lip liner or layer I could use to tone down the purple berry & achieve a Golden Red? (Gina) I love golden reds but it’s so hard to create on me! It magically worker somehow with a DCd UD lip gunk from a long time ago.. Really wishing for this! 🙂

Lotus Avatar

Hello Christine! I look forward to when you do try them or someone does! 🙂 Thank you for the recommendation, there is a yellow, but I most definitely must check if it is safe for lips! Perhaps the Pro.. I’ll look into it! If you think of anything else, please let me know! PS: You wear a fierce Cardinal eye for a Peacock, girl! (teals, blues, greens, golds) Perhaps Dustin will have experience with these products to share with us! 🙂 Im glad I got to catch up and spend time here. Much gratitude as always! <3

Actually, I believe that all Chromographic pencils are safe for everyehere use! 😀 I have a MUFE pot of Yellow cream but the texture is all wrong, lol! I’m Not giving up 🙂

Lotus Avatar

🙁 True. Have you any experience with MAC Lipmix? It’s in a little tube like an occ lip far but differently shaped and it is for lips and cones in yellow, orange, and really yellow nudie colors.. Possibly.. I just wish I was knowledgable of the texture and ingredients! If I can find anything, I believe in you and your site to make an answer come to life some day while pondering.. Wandering through the swatches… 😀 Otherwise, Who would want a brand new Gina applied to somebody else’s lips once? Yeah, I can sterilize! But can you please recommend a safe trading type place? I’ve not had much luck like I used to on MUA years ago.. It would be nice to find that again, I’ve much to offer! I appreciate all the work you do and that you still care to respond! Husband, furbaby…never sick.. Always kind.. I truly appreciate you as a person. When I shop, since many things are inspired purchases from your reviews, is there a way I can enter your name and you receive credit of some sort? The impact you make is something I feel should be known. If not, how can I go about creating change so that it can happen? Seriously, I know this is fun for you and enjoy making others happy, but most beauty purchases are made by all after researching here! As well, your mug is used on eBay and so many other blogs for color representation and I highly doubt your permission is out there for the million using you.. Not to creep you out, but I’m implying you deserve a sort of insurance! 😀

Christine Avatar

I haven’t used Lip Mix in a longgggg time, and I don’t know that I ever bought it, unfortunately!

I haven’t swapped makeup in a long time either – I didn’t even know MUA stopped offering it until recently! 🙁 I think Reddit might have a subforum that facilitates, but I have no experience with it myself.

You are very sweet! Your readership is always appreciation enough 🙂

Lotus Avatar

Aww.. Hi Bonnie! You are so sweet to try to help! Thank you! The actual problem is that I have sensitive lips which dry easily, occ tats aren’t too good for that, and my lips are what are naturally pigmented a deep purple berry color! 😀 I loved the Rouge G in Gina, which you can check out here on Temptalia! But on me, with this intense pigmentation, it turned a neon fruitpunch color! :O So, I’m trying to find a way to get that warm golden Red to work on me! 😛 layering concealer or cancellation products don’t work so I need to figure out a thin layer option to lay down first. I’m sorry it wasn’t explained, your solution would be a wonderful option! May I please ask your expertise now that you have the 411 on my lip 911? Thank you! 🙂

Bonnie Avatar

Hi Lotus,
I see your problem… I’m no expect, just a former makeup artist who loves makeup! 😉
You say you need a yellow, but something more emollient than lip tar because you have dry lips?
Have you considered layering or mixing one of NYX’s macaron lippies in the white (coconut) or yellow (citron) or possibly even light orange (orange blossom) shades under or with your lipstick of choice? They’re very opaque and emollient and *might* work if you play around with them and darker colors to get the shade you need for your lips! Let me know your thoughts.

Lotus Avatar

“Interesting” … I sense that as code for “send me one free, I really want to try this but not buy this!” 😉 You want one.. You want it more than the Audacious & Boys to get along.. It’s haunting you.. “Rachelllllllllll…buy meeeeeeeeeee… I’ll soothe and smooth your lips… You’ll seeee…” Lol 😛 I’m having so much luck eith YSL that I can’t wait to try this! My purple lips will thank me. :-*

Rachel R. Avatar

Hahahahaha! 😀 No, I’m really not into tints, and I don’t have dry lips. I’ve just never used such a product, so I’m curious how and if it works. The pigments must be soluble in oils, but able to stain lips through it. This is too expensive for someone like me who doesn’t need the moisture. I hope it ends up being something that works for you.

I think it’s cool you have beautiful purple lips. Mine are almost the same color as my skin, just kind of a light dusty pink on the edges.

Lotus Avatar

😀 Thank you, Rachel! It’s.. Interesting.. Purple lips. (Hint of red) deep Marsala! If I try this, I hope it works as well, thank you so much! And.. You nevER kbow what winter can do to your beautiful pale lips… 😉

Lotus Avatar

Whitney, I’m so with you! They even sent that $25 gift card to be used up BY dec 15th.. But.. I’m so broke, I started to return things! I’m hoping they make it in time to help me make a purchase! Who honestly still has any funds left? Gahhhhh is such the expression of being driven mad right now. 😀

Natalie Avatar

I can’t wait to try these out! I hope they’re like a gorgeously pigmented version of Hourglass’ Lip Treatment Oil. I’ve been craving a new lip tint lately!

Rebecca Avatar

They’re very sheer. I think this is for the people who want the bare minimum amount of color and are desperate for a lip oil instead of balm. In cold climates a balm seem to freeze to your lips, haha. These will hold up better, but they need to be reapplied more often.
