New Product Alert! Hourglass Ambient Lighting Powder
Hourglass Ambient Lighting Powder
Ready to cast your complexion in a flattering new light? Hourglass Ambient Lighting Powder, launching next spring, is a groundbreaking collection of finishing powders that capture, diffuse and soften the way light is reflected on your skin. The powders brighten the appearance and conceal skin imperfections, pores and wrinkles, so that skin appears younger, even-toned and radiant. With six universal shades available, the wearer can choose the lighting effect they desire – it’s the equivalent of having a personal lighting technician.
“I learned early on how different types of light can truly flatter the complexion,” says Carisa Janes, Hourglass CEO & Founder. “Growing up, my mother had pink light bulbs in all of the lamps throughout the house. She loved pink light because it was the softest and most flattering, and she always wanted to look good.” Janes was inspired to create a new generation of powders that can be customized according to the desired lighting effect.
Unlike traditional finishing powders, Ambient Lighting Powder alters the perceived appearance of the complexion by manipulating and filtering out harsh light. As we age, skin loses its natural luminosity, and Ambient addresses this deficiency with ‘photoluminescent technology’. These transparent micron-size, color-correcting particles emulate the appearance of young, healthy-looking skin.
Ambient Lighting Powder is free of parabens, talc, fragrance, nano-particles and gluten. There are 6 unique lighting powders, and each is suitable for all skin tones. Choose your powder according to your most flattering light.

Hi Christine. Do you plan on reviewing these? I’m curious to see how they compare to Guerlain Meteorites. Thank you.
I might have to try these ones out. LOVE Hourglass!
I am such a sucker for highlighters and these sound just gorgeous. I have a lot of confidence in Hourglass, which means that I’m really looking forward to seeing the effect that these give. If they really do look distinct from one another, I can see myself getting a few of them.
I hope you review these; they look like they have the potential to be really great!
do you think these will be similar to the bobbi brown skin perfecting powders that are going to be released?
excited to see swatches!!
Wow, expensive. I hope they don’t sit on the skin like some of these powders do and actually diffuse. Can’t wait to see your review on the differences in the shades.
I’m tempted by luminous light, ethereal light, and mood light but at $45 a pop I doubt I’ll get all three. I do wonder how similar this is to the new Bobbi Brown powder, though, and I’m curious to see reviews.
Ahh I’m soo excited about this powder! I did a post on products that have caught my eye recently and this was one. It sounded like it might work similarly to the guerlain meteorites. Can’t wait to see your review!
Promises, promises. Honestly.
Agreed! Haha.
Hourglass is a brand that delivers. Sounds like you have not tried anything from this brand.
No kidding! I LOVE Hourglass. Their products never disappoint.
Interesting, I may have to get one. Hourglass looks like a top quality brand
I’ve been searching high and low for a finishing powder that gives a luminous finish without being sparkly… this might just be it! I want to go to Sephora and look but that always gets me and my wallet into trouble. 🙂
I’m interested in seeing how these perform and if they really do what the ad claims they do. The concept for some of these are interesting, especially mood and dim light since they seem rather different than other products I’ve seen.
Looks very interesting, I think I’d like these.
This is exciting! Lately, I’m discovering new brands (to me) through their highlighters. Wow, now we can choose the lighting we *want! Expectations soar, at least mine. I’m rooting for these! Hope they perform well!
Oh no!! I love their foundation so I am really interested in these. I am just confused about which one to get? Ethereal and Mood light sound really great but…..at my age I guess I should go for the more appropriate sounding “Dim Light”!!!!! Oh well, it is what it is but I am really wanting to get at least one. And does anybody know if the brush is necessary?
Oooh love the look of these!
ooo first bobbi brown now hourglass! i wonder which one will do a better job as a finishing powder? can’t wait to see you review these!
please review these soon!! you’re my most trusted beauty advisor lol
Will these be permanent? If I have Guerlain’s (Teint Beige) Meteorites, do I still need this? HOW on earth to choose a color? I’m so looking forward to your review!!! Thank you!
Hi Christine,
I am anxiously waiting your review of these and also to see if they are comparable to the Guerlain Wulong powders.
Thank you!
