NARS Valhalla Eyeshadow Review, Photos, Swatches
NARS Valhalla Eyeshadow
NARS Valhalla Eyeshadow ($25.00 for 0.07 oz.) is described as a “soft shimmering pink peach.” It’s a pop of golden peach with a frosted sheen. It doesn’t read very pink against my skin tone, but it might if you have stronger pink undertones (though even in the pan, it seems more peach thank pink). Marc Jacobs Beauty The Enigma #7 (P) is darker. Tarte Rose Champagne (LE) is similar. bareMinerals Ball Gown (V2) (P) is yellower. Make Up For Ever I520 Pinky Sand (P, $21.00) is similar. theBalm #7 (P, $6.50) is more beige. bareMinerals Ball Gown (LE) is similar. Too Faced Cheers! (LE, $16.00) is similar. Disney by Sephora Splendid (LE) is similar. See comparison swatches / view dupes.
Even though most of are likely swimming in a sea of neutrals, there’s always room for a good-performing one–especially one that’s permanent. I can see this being a go-to for some, and certainly a shade that others have half a dozen near-dupes for, too. The consistency was soft, finely-milled, and buttery with a slightly denser texture than the average NARS’ eyeshadow, though not as thick or as dense as something like the Kauai duo. It was easy to blend on the skin, and it applied well to bare skin. It only lasted for seven hours before creasing on me, which was really its only downfall.

At first glance I thought it was a blush, oops 🙂 The color is a bit boring, to be honest. I don’t think I’d wear it. But that’s me, I like my eye looks bold and heavy. I can see more natural girls loving this shade.
I like bold looks, too, but this is nice for center or inner corner of the lid, and depending on your skin tone, brow bone highlighter or lower lash line 🙂 It doesn’t have to be worn with just other neutrals!
I quite like the look of this… have added to my wishlist pending personal inspection 😉
Nice!!
This is another one I’ll eventually pick up, although I have several similar shades. This also reminds me of All About Eve, which I wear frequently as a base, so this would be a bit cheaper than another AAE, LOL!
Yay! 🙂
A very basic-looking shadow, looks very dupe-able, but could be a workhorse shade for many people.
Exactly! 😀
I definitely like it, but I am one of those people who has a bunch of colors like this.
Me too! I mean, I don’t want 400 of them, but I do like them.
Seeing as I have a ton of champagne “all over the lid” shades, I might skip… I still have Naked Lunch, All That Glitters, Natural Vigor, and a ton others…
I think you’re covered 🙂
Pretty..love tha tMUFE dupe!
you know what I mean that MUFE *lol
Yay!!
It is indeed a very nice shade. I wonder what I have that is similar…
I bet you have a dupe!
Very pretty! How does it compare to Laura Mercier’s rose gold eyeshadow stick?
Laura Mercier Rose Gold is more metallic and a lot warmer – less pink!
I thought it was a blush too! It’s pretty…clean and simple, but I agree, very dupe-able.
Haha! I think it’s just how similar the packaging is, and I just take the shot closer, so it looks larger than it is!
What a pretty all over eye color.
Definitely!
It just seems so boring to me! I would understand this being available as part of a permanent line (I do like neutrals and of course they are useful) but as part of a collection it just seems a bit of a snooze to me.
It is being added to the permanent range 🙂
Even an excessively neutrals-fatigues rogue like me can appreciate a pretty shadow – it just looks so gorgeous on your eyes! Looking at my own collection, however, I have way too many peachy/champagne shimmer type shades to go for another one! 😀
I’m right there with you! I can appreciate it, but I know it’s the last thing I need, lol!
Beautiful! This would be a great base and brow highlighter for me! <3
Awesome 😀
pretty but very subtle, too subtle to spend the $ for NARS on
Totally understand! 🙂
I need to find a blush/highlighter dupe of this color!
Maybe NARS’ Reckless?
It’s alright. I can see it being great with bolder shades or as a wash!
It coudl be!
I thought it was a blush too! I was going to say I love the shade. But as an eyeshadow? Nope – not on me.
Haha! 🙂
This would make such a go-to shade for summer. I may have to get this one for those easy, but put-together summer days. Beautiful.
Nice! 🙂
This is so soft and pretty.
It is!
This is a beautiful peach on me! I love it! 😀 But, I am just a dot of pigment after white, sooo.. 😉
Sounds like this collection was made for you! 🙂
😀 I’ve been enjoying the entire lot without much effort! I love it! 😀
Even I took it to be a blush but it is an eye shadow.. it is a pretty neutral shade but such shades will only work as brow bone highlighter on me as it wont show on my lids at all
It would be pretty as a brow bone highlighter!
Such a pretty shade! I think it would give a lot of light to the eye in one of those lazy days where you just swipe one eyeshadow all over the lid. That said, knowing that Nars shadows are a bit pricey, I tend to splurge only on the most special shades.
This is beautiful, but I honestly thought this was a blush, and think it would function better as one! I’m a bit puzzled by this collection. I thought all of the bits were must haves, but now as I read through your assessments of them and how they apply I’m disappointed by how they’ve turned out. Oh well, good to know and more money in my pocket at the end of the day. 🙂
Happy to help! 🙂
This looks very pretty, and I don’t have any similar colours in my collection…I’m tempted! However as it’s so dupeable it might be better to just go for a cheaper option
Go for dupes!
