NARS Valhalla Eyeshadow Review, Photos, Swatches

NARS Valhalla Eyeshadow
NARS Valhalla Eyeshadow

NARS Valhalla Eyeshadow ($25.00 for 0.07 oz.) is described as a “soft shimmering pink peach.” It’s a pop of golden peach with a frosted sheen. It doesn’t read very pink against my skin tone, but it might if you have stronger pink undertones (though even in the pan, it seems more peach thank pink). Marc Jacobs Beauty The Enigma #7 (P) is darker. Tarte Rose Champagne (LE) is similar. bareMinerals Ball Gown (V2) (P) is yellower. Make Up For Ever I520 Pinky Sand (P, $21.00) is similar. theBalm #7 (P, $6.50) is more beige. bareMinerals Ball Gown (LE) is similar. Too Faced Cheers! (LE, $16.00) is similar. Disney by Sephora Splendid (LE) is similar. See comparison swatches / view dupes.

Even though most of are likely swimming in a sea of neutrals, there’s always room for a good-performing one–especially one that’s permanent. I can see this being a go-to for some, and certainly a shade that others have half a dozen near-dupes for, too. The consistency was soft, finely-milled, and buttery with a slightly denser texture than the average NARS’ eyeshadow, though not as thick or as dense as something like the Kauai duo. It was easy to blend on the skin, and it applied well to bare skin. It only lasted for seven hours before creasing on me, which was really its only downfall.

At first glance I thought it was a blush, oops 🙂 The color is a bit boring, to be honest. I don’t think I’d wear it. But that’s me, I like my eye looks bold and heavy. I can see more natural girls loving this shade.

This is another one I’ll eventually pick up, although I have several similar shades. This also reminds me of All About Eve, which I wear frequently as a base, so this would be a bit cheaper than another AAE, LOL!

It just seems so boring to me! I would understand this being available as part of a permanent line (I do like neutrals and of course they are useful) but as part of a collection it just seems a bit of a snooze to me.

This is beautiful, but I honestly thought this was a blush, and think it would function better as one! I’m a bit puzzled by this collection. I thought all of the bits were must haves, but now as I read through your assessments of them and how they apply I’m disappointed by how they’ve turned out. Oh well, good to know and more money in my pocket at the end of the day. 🙂

This looks very pretty, and I don’t have any similar colours in my collection…I’m tempted! However as it’s so dupeable it might be better to just go for a cheaper option
