We appreciate enthusiasm for new releases but ask readers to please hold questions regarding if/when a review will be posted as we can't commit to or guarantee product reviews. We don't want to set expectations and then disappoint readers as even products that are swatched don't always end up being reviewed due to time constraints and changes in priorities! Ooh, Schiap. I’ve always wanted that one. Not that I need another fuchsia.

Christine, seeing the tremendous amount of lipsticks from this new NARS collection swatched on your lips, the big question I have is how do you keep your lips in such good shape?

Christine Avatar

My lips tend to feel raw after swatching that many more than anything else (like they aren’t bleeding, cracked, or peeling!), but they don’t seem THAT much worse for the wear. I use a heavier lip balm at night (which I do every night, though), so I don’t feel like I do much extra, but I will tend to wear less matte lipsticks the next day for testing if my lips feel particularly dry/still a bit raw!

Thanks, Christine. Sometimes, when I have time at the end of the night, I like try on different looks to see how creative I can be, and after trying on and wiping off several lip shades, my lips scream, “NO MORE!”

I wish they had repackaged but not reformulated Funny Face. It was already perfect so there’s nowhere to go but down.

I’m loving some of the new colors though. I tried Hot Kiss and Jolie Mome in store and loved them. Raw Love is my kind of color too and the name doesn’t bother me—I think it’s funny like Orgasm must have been was when the original launched 20 years ago. I do wonder what the implication of Full Time Females is supposed to be though? Obvs it suggests a part time option and wtf is THAT supposed to mean? Is he referring to cis men who are drag queens, or…??? I legit might email the company to ask them to explain the joke or reference to me.

You are the champion for getting these out so fast, Christine. I’ve been checking back since the launch announcement for your swatches and I’m floored by your speed and the quality of your pictures, as always. Thank you so much. 🙂

These all look so pretty. Ugh, even Pigalle, and could there BE a worse name? “We’re going to name our lipstick a word that relates to prostitution, but if the buyer isn’t familiar with that, she can still associate it with fat smelly barnyard animals.”

I’m really interested in the sheeniness of Cat Fight, and I’m sure that I’ll get Schiap even though I have all its dupes, because it’s gorgeous and because I definitely fall on the Schiaparelli side of the Schiaparelli/Chanel spectrum.

I’d love to see what other makeup people would wear with Raw Love. Reminds me of ABH’s Dread. How do people like to rock a greige these days?

I think it’s a quartier in the ?9th arondissement in Paris, and that is the reference, nothing skeevy. Pigalle has been around since before FN went all shock names.

I still love a greige lip with fresh, dewy skin and a thin, sharp cateye. But I’ve been wearing and just slowly updating that for over a decade now so maybe other people are doing other stuff lol. I also like to go modern grunge and pair it with a big round rusty eye makeup. Lots of yellowish tones under the eye to give it a big, dramatic look. Sometimes I do a sheer berry cheek with that combo to make it a little bit feverish looking. Man I love greige and taupe lips. 🙂

Just love greige. As coral and pink look pretty terrible on me, Greige takes their place. Since I’m old, and matchy-matchy, it goes w/Lunatick palettes, Zoeva En Taupe, CP Fame, Punked. Also with pastels. Any ‘cool’ or light look. Blush will be s.t. Like OG MUFE dark purple taupe. Greige is my fave, after the reds. To me, it seems conservative, like navy, forest green, dark burgundy. Greige is the Gray Flannel Suit of l/s. And I cannot get enough.

I don’t mean to be confrontational, but defining Pigalle by prostitution is a bit puritanistic (is that a word?). It’s also known for the Moulin Rouge, artist residences and studios, and free-spiritedness in general. I think it used to be thought of as a place of unbridled creativity (though yes, that creativity wasn’t just artistic, but often sexual). Still, to think of it as a place of prostitution is to unfairly reduce it to one dimension.

I love that deep red packaging, but have been unable to find those lippies! The links I tried go directly to the standard black packaged ones instead ….

These are helpful. Is it just me or do these not look particularly pigmented? I looked at a few of the more neutral ones that seem to not have enough ooompf. In store, I swatched a couple minis that are exclusive to Ulta. I think they were matte. Thought the same of those. These may be a pass for me, which is too bad. I liked a few of them, but they aren’t pigmented to me.
