NARS Lipgloss Relaunch (Summer 2014)

With a new formulation, NARS Lip Gloss lavishly coats lips in a full spectrum of shades with sophisticated natural shine — perfect for everyday glamour. The silky texture and new doe-foot applicator provide precise application and longer, more comfortable wear. Nourishing ingredients hydrate and smooth fine lines leaving lips soft and supple, while Sea Lavender helps protect against signs of aging. The comprehensive 30-shade collection includes 7 fashion-forward new shades and 23 iconic favorites for a full range of effects, from sheer shine to bold luster. This has the potential to be excellent news. I had purchased a few Nars glosses several years back and absolutely hated the smell and texture. With any luck, these will be better.

No, I take that back. $26.. I hope they suck. I hope they suck hard, and then I won’t feel a compelling urge to buy them all.

I love NARS. I hope this new lip gloss is not sticky and has been reformulated to include better ingredients and an overall even better product. I never minded the “plastic-y” scent some people complained about; my glosses from the brand never had too bad of a scent and I actually appreciated that NARS didn’t overload their product with fragrance (so I’m hoping these won’t smell like a bottle of perfume either). I look forward to your review and a chance to see the list of ingredients.

I really liked NARS glosses when I first got into makeup but as I tried more glosses that weren’t as thick and sticky I stopped using them as much. I hope this new formula is more on the creamy side and has a bit of fragrance added. I didn’t like the plastic smell either lol

Last month I was thinking about Nana, the sheer, dark purple gloss that I disliked when it came out, but wish I have now. I thought it was limited edition; turns out it’s still on NARS’s site (here http://www.narscosmetics.com/USA/makeup-lips-lip-gloss/0607845016601.html)–but is not included in this reformulation. It’s unlikely, but I hope they have a sale on the old formula glosses and I can get Nana at a discount!

my biggest concern is smell??? nars is notorious for that weird goop/plastic smell in their lipglosses & lip lacquers; are these the same nasty smell as in the original formulation & packaging ?? thank you

Hi Christine!

Do you know if they are d/c Bad Education? I don’t see it on the list and I love that color. Thanks 🙂

I was so afraid they were going to have that ridiculous tiny brush like the larger than life glosses! They should call them “smaller than life”, AMIRITE? Glad to see that doesn’t seem to be the case 🙂
Unlike a lot of people I’m actually a pretty big fan of the original formula (the non-shimmer/glitter, that is), so hopefully these are as good or better. I see a few new colours I’m pretty interested in, as well, Like Tasmania. I live in Australia so that automatically caught my attention.
