NARS Laguna Sun Wash Diffusing Bronzer Review, Photos, Swatches

Laguna
NARS Laguna Sun Wash Diffusing Bronzer ($40.00 for 0.28 oz.) is a light-medium brown with warm, golden undertones and a matte finish. It had sheer color payoff that was buildable up to medium coverage (two to three layers). The powder was firmer in the pan, and as a result, a dense brush and a heavier touch were necessary to get enough product to transfer onto the brush to apply to my skin. While some firmer powders can be difficult to blend, I had no trouble applying and diffusing the bronzer. This shade just barely shows on me (I think it was slightly more noticeable in person), so I expect this would be ideal for those fairer than I. The bronzer started to fade after seven and a half hours of wear.
The new formula is supposed to have a “matte finish” with a “sheer pigments” that look like “second-skin warmth.” There are four shades, and going from light to dark (per the brand), they are: Seaside, Laguna, Casino, and Falaises. The formula felt smoother and firmer compared to the brand’s Dual-Intensity formula (which has a similar pattern on it). The formula had sheer to medium coverage with some shades being more buildable than others. I had to use a denser brush and heavier hand to ensure product transferred onto my brush, so they would be hard to overdo.

Hi Christine,
This looks lighter than Seaside based on your swatches. Do you find this to be true or is it just my monitor? It also looks a little cooler. Laguna is too dark for my fair skin, so I thought Seaside would be a good option, but now I’m not so sure either will work. 🙂

Laguna is the lightest and most golden in tone.
I thought the same thing, I think it just looks lighter swatched because Christine is warmer and the the Seaside is more red based.
Is this Nars Laguna a new formula or the same as in past launches with just a different layout in the pan? The color seams a lot lighter then the Laguna I own.
This is a different formula!
Oh, this is noticeably lighter than the original Laguna, which I did use up an entire small pan of. Too light for me, but it looks like an excellent option for those with lighter or fairer complexions.
I’ve never tried the regular Laguna. This one seems a bit softer and easier to wear.
I prefer more of a sheen in my bronzers. But I like the tone of this!
So are they replacing the formula? This is not anything like regular laguna. I hope they are not replacing.
It does not say it is a replacement.
What brush did you use for applying it?
I struggle to apply this new formula Laguna onto my skin. It barely seen on my skin with regular bronzing brushes(or a blush brush, or a highlighting brush) I have. If i swatch it with my finger, it’s so pigmented. What should I do with it? ;( Please somebody help.
Sorry, I don’t remember – I do not write down what brushes I use since I often roll through 20-30 brushes each day!
