NARS Kismet Nail Lacquer Review, Photos, Swatches
NARS Kismet Nail Lacquer
NARS Summer 2011: Kismet Nail Lacquer
NARS Kismet Nail Lacquer ($17.00 for 0.5 fl. oz.) is described as a “metallic sunflower.” It’s a very deep marigold kind of color–warm, yellow, orange, and gold all wrapped into one. It has a slightly metallic finish, so there are some brush strokes in the final result. I was able to get nearly opaque color in two coats (which is what is shown in the swatches). I usually get a week of wear out of NARS’ lacquer formula, and Kismet is a thicker polish, but it applies evenly.

This reminds me of Misa’s Ghetto Fabulous
I think I have a problem because looking at the bottle is triggering my salivary glands
It’s not my kind of colour! 🙁
Reminds me of Zoya Goldie!
The color reminds me so much of honey, sun, seeds, sunflower fields and amber! … And Winnie the Pooh. Yep, Winnie the Pooh.
Oh, and bugs! You know, bees and bumblebees.
I couldn’t have said it better!
it looks beautiful, but strangely unflattering on my skin 🙁
The color on its own is gorgeous, I just don’t think it’s a flattering color to have on your nails :/
ooh reminds me of MAC phosphor
That’s really pretty!
Oh my dear god, this is GORGEOUS!!! Is this limited edition? I wanna have it badly!
Kismet means “fatality” in Turkish 🙂
Actually, it means FATE, in many other languages such as Hindi and Bengali too
It means FATE in Turkish. Not fatality!!!!
Nope, not a fan of this.
I kind of like the idea of this. It’s just that I don’t know how much I’ll love it on me. I’ll buy the Zoya Goldie color spoon and try it out that way.
You have beautiful nails, but I’m just not feeling this yellow gold on the nails. I prefer more of a bronze/sand/copper tone for myself.
The color and finish of this keep reminding me of something from my childhood, but I can’t quite put my finger on it! It’s something that I’ve never been reminded of when I wear Goldie. I hope I remember…it’s driving me crazy!
When I first saw the pictures of this, I wanted it so badly. I didn’t go to Sephora and I guess I should have waited but I bought it. I love the colour but it’s definately not very good on my skin tone. It kind of makes me look like I have some sort of nail color problems.
I’m really digging this color. 🙂 I think your description is spot on – molten gold. Yum!
I bought Nars’ Kismet a week ago, and I agree with you of its longevity. Also, for some odd reason, when I first saw the nail polish, I was instantly attracted to it that I had to buy/own it! 🙂 No regrets with this purchase.
