NARS Holiday 2023 Collection saw the release of a new, limited edition six-pan cheek palette and a nine-pan eyeshadow palette, which were the two items I picked up. I believe there are some sets/repromoted products in special packaging that I skipped.

We appreciate enthusiasm for new releases but ask readers to please hold questions regarding if/when a review will be posted as we can't commit to or guarantee product reviews. We don't want to set expectations and then disappoint readers as even products that are swatched don't always end up being reviewed due to time constraints and changes in priorities! Thank you for understanding!

The cheek palette is entirely too warm for me (I thought Vertigo would be nice until I saw the swatches; even if it had been, 1 blush out of 6 – nope!) and the same is true of the eyeshadow palette. The 2 taupe/brown shades are okay (though they don’t seem too pigmented) but I’ve probably got numerous dupes for those!

These two offerings from Nars look more like an autumn collection to me – which is very pleasing.
I think the cheek palette does lean a bit too orangey red for most, although those with deeper skintones would probably enjoy it.
The eye palette seems quite cohesive and has some lovely shades in it – but, on balance, a bit too pinky/orangey for me.

Again, just a no from me. I have enough of these shades to fill a pool and have vowed that I am not buying anymore. For one thing I don’t wear these shades very often as they just don’t look that good on me. When I do I wear them pretty sheered out. I am still waiting for something really amazing to get excited about for the holiday releases. At the rate things are going, I am not holding my breath though. There are a couple of shades here that don’t swatch all that well but as we know, sometimes swatches don’t tell the whole story and I think if these are your colors and you want them all together in a couple of palettes, these might be nice. There are a couple of different tones and depths so likely would work okay.
