I’m intrigued by this eyeshadow palette, but doubt that I will need it since I’ll probably be getting either PMG Midnight Sun Mothership or Subversive Mothership. Both have more interesting, unique purple shades, and Midnight Sun has almost the same shade combo.
Can I honestly justify buying this palette only for the shade “Come To Me”…? No. Will I buy it anyway? More than likely…
Hey, I’m buying it because the shades are all names of disco songs, so…..yeah š
When I read “Come to Me” on the palette I immediately went to Fright Night and Chris Sarandon in my head (and right now I’m pulling the song up on the Tube). Yeah, I may totally buy it for the name as well… š
For me, it has nothing to do with the name; I’m just a complete sucker when it comes to red eyeshadow, and I don’t think I have a glittery one…
I hadn’t really paid attention to the red shade but I don’t think I have a red shimmer shade either! How can that possibly be since I have 1,000,001 e/s?
I sort of missed that whole Studio 54 period of history because I was working graveyards at the time and was pulling a lot of overtime so I can’t speak to whether this release really captures the spirit of that iconic night club. I certainly don’t see anything here that is either revolutionary or particularly unique unless they review and swatch different than I expect. i do get the whole glitter/shimmer vibe as I have seen pictures from Studio 54 and pretty much everything glimmered. I do recognize the music references but doubt I will get anything from this release. I would prefer to put my money towards the Hourglass palettes and Pony highlighter/lipstick release with MAC.
Pretty, but nothing terribly unique. I’m feeling so bored by holiday releases this year. More so than usual.
hear hear, Rachel! In a way, all these holiday releases are so overwhelming (and so early!), it’s easier for me not to buy anything than to wonder where I should spend my money!
Rachel, I wonder if many of us, because we’re long-time purchasers of cosmetics, are feeling the same sort of “fatigue” and how much of that is simply because we have so much, have been “into” makeup for years (decades?) and so feel we’ve seen it all. I wonder if someone just getting into makeup might still have the level of excitement that I had 5 or 10 years ago when seeing some of the new holiday items.
Mariella, I’m sure that’s it. Everything is starting to look the same. Plus I’ve been filling out my collection, so there is less that I need. On the bright side, money saved.
Isn’t it a nice feeling, seeing something new (and often pricey) and thinking “Gee, I don’t even really want that?” I remember a few years ago, the anxiety and agitation I’d often feel when seeing and coveting some new collections and the whole “Will I be able to get it? Will it be available here? Will I have the cash for it?” Now – most of the time, I just feel a relaxed “Nope, don’t need it and, more importantly, don’t want it…”
Yes! More money for a future Australia trip, in my case.
Totally, guys. Plus, on the NARS front, I already have my preferred colors from every set, and probably wouldnāt wear/would have to give away the others. We, the overstashed, are tired. This may be the first holiday that I get myself zero m/u, and might not even make VIB by yearās end. Well, itās gotta end some time…and at my age, it ought to! Love how the earworms start, reading the palette names, though.
Yes, Rachel, so do I! And there’s just too much stuff coming out too quickly, too. Overwhelmed and bored at the same time. ?āāļø
Hopefully it is a better palette than last years. It was beautiful but a HOT MESS as far as formula. Truly awful.
This looks interesting too – I wonder whether that’s glittery eyeshadows I spy and whether they will be good or not. Like Dior, NARS can be fabulous across the board or have several shadows that are great and a few duds.
I can’t justify the palette, as I’m sure I have these colors a dozen times over, but it sure is pretty — and very me.
Oops — just noticed that there are two eyeshadow palettes; I was talking about the first one above. The second one is less me, but it’s still nice, and I could totally justify getting it as I don’t think I have many (if any) dupes of those colors, other than maybe the marmalade-ish color, or the beiges. Not getting it, though.
Quite underwhelming in my opinion, and who wants makeup tested on animals? Disgusting
Although I generally love NARS, this stuff has no appeal to me but I now have “Disco Inferno” running though my head! If I had a pair of shiny white patent shoes, I’d be putting them on right now!
I’m considering Intrigue and possibly Immortal Red. Maybe they’ll go on my birthday list or Christmas list?
Pretty excited to see these in person. I have a feeling that Inferno palette will join my collection with no regrets just like the shadow palette from last year.
I’ve been let down by the Nars LE palette I’ve bought recently so honestly this is an easy miss. I feel like I have dupes of these shades in formulas I know I like, its just not enough to tempt me when I’ve developed a distrust for this brand’s Limited editions.
easy pass for me.
OH ive just noticed they also have glitter packaging which I can not stand the texture of, it sets off my tactile hypersensitivity.. So that is a fast past, even if i did like the shades and the reviews turn out to be amazing.
Just curious, so disregard, if you will, this unrelated question. But, do you have issues with food textures? As an SLP, that has always fascinated me. I just developed an issue with mixed textures and swallowing, which probably explains why I never could abide tapioca, despite it tasting ok.
love Nars gloss but the set has one CLEAR??? that is like selling a trio of vintage cognacs….except the third bottle is Dasani. FEH!
Nice palette, but nope. Nothing special.
I’m almost out of American Woman so I’m glad it’s available in this set! I love the formula of their Powermatte Pigments so I’m for sure getting that set.
Christine, you swapped the details/descriptions of the Star Scene and Hustle cheek palettes.
FWIW, I saw and swatched Star Scene in Ulta yesterday, and it seems nice. Both blush shades and the highlighter were very silky and all three seemed pigmented. I never buy cheek palettes, but Iād consider this one if still available during a sale event or with a coupon.
