These look really pretty! A little taken aback by the $79 price tag of the eyeshadow palette. I guess individually those shades are $29 each, so for 8 shades it could be a value. I’m interested to see the amount of each eyeshadow you get in the palette.

For some reason value still matters to me, even though I hardly ever make it through a single eyeshadow. It’s the principle of it, I guess. Am I weird?

Whitney, I wouldn’t be too much in a hurry to return your Smashbox Double Exposure palette. They are both very different. I think the Smashbox palette has more functionality. When applied dry, you will have good pigmentation. When wet, then you’ll have good pigmentation with a foiled effect. I know that the NARS Dual-Intensity are gorgeous even just to look at, but keep in mind that if you aren’t foiling them, the color pay-off is very low. it will just add a very little bit of sparkle. It’s only when they are applied wet, are you able to really see the colors. Food for thought. 🙂

Hm, thanks for the advice. Idk…it’s kind of a long story. I really liked Smashbox before but I got their Master Class Palette II, but the quality is just not there, and I kind of got bitter with them, and I also fell out of love with their BB cream. I think the colors in the Double Exposure are also not very special and fairly dupe-able in my collection. I also rarely apply eyeshadows wet, since I live in the dorms and do my makeup in my room (without a sink nearby). So I guess there are a lot of reasons I was wanting to return it anyway, but maybe I won’t haha. Ahhh decisions.

ERMG. I’ve been waiting to try any of the Dual-Intensity ones until a palette came out. Gonna have to get this even though I only really like how they look with a dampened application. The collective palette almost got me but then it has FRIGGIN LAGUNA AGAIN. PICK A DIFFERENT BRONZER OR CONTOUR.

I bought the blush palette last night & then freaked out when I got it home & saw Laguna & Albatross underneath. Obviously I hadn’t seen this post yet 🙂

I swear, I hate those 2 products. Why not put the nicer, newer formulated contour powders in place of those? The gloss is a very natural, sheer color & the texture is nice, as are the 3 blush/contour shades on top (although too small), but Laguna & Albatross gotta go!

I may take it back just because of that. I’m really quite pissed.

How fabulous to have all those dual intensity shadows in one palette for not much more than the price of 2 or 3 of the full sized ones! I hope there isn’t a drop in the quality (as there sometimes is when Nars puts their popular shadows into a LE palette). This will be wonderful if the quality measures up.

Nikki Avatar

Why NARS. Why must you include Laguna in every single blush palette. WHY?! You came out with actual contour stuff! You can totally use those other colors! There are so many shades of brown, taupe, bronze, STOP WITH LAGUNA.

Love, everybody.

Oh god th eyeshadow palette is gonna be crazy expensive in Canada. I already own two colors and I’m not so big on sycorax and te blue one. I wonder if the formula is going to be consistent as the full sized ones though.

Fingers crossed for the spring collection though.

Ohmygoshohmygosh I NEED the eyeshadow palette! (and maybe the blush palette). I have Subra and Himalia on my wish list right now, but really love ALL the colors, so this is a MUST buy for me. Eek! I can’t remember the last time I was this excited. I really hope the formula isn’t compromised for this palette.

Michelle Avatar

Oh GOD!! YES!! Christine if you don’t get the review for the eyeshadow palette up soon I could die – just sayin lol!!!! That is the most exciting thing I’ve seen in ages!!!!! I gotta wait for it to be released at Sephora since I’m in Canada. waaaah, too long.

The bottom row of the eye palette is just too cool toned for me. And I already have Himalia and Subra from the top row, so I guess this is a pass for me. The blush palette is non-contributary if you have Virtual Domination, I think. But CONGRATS Nars for leaving out Orgasm!!!

Because of your review I was able to save for this amazing palette and got it today! It’s already on the nars website 🙂 super happy about that 🙂 yay!

I ordered the blush and contour palette online from Sephora today and I’m supposed to get it tomorrow in the mail! The palette is available to VIB Rouge members only for purchase before official release date.
