NARS 15 Minutes Nail Lacquer Review, Photos, Swatches

NARS 15 Minutes Nail Lacquer

A Pop of Spring in Your Holiday Line-Up

NARS 15 Minutes Nail Lacquer ($18.00 for 0.50 fl. oz.) is described as a “lemon yellow.” It’s a slightly pastel sunshine yellow. MAC Near Beth Experience is much lighter. Rescue Beauty Lounge Yellow Fever is much darker. China Glaze Lemon Fizz is also much lighter. In the end, I couldn’t think of any dupes from previous shades I’ve reviewed.

This reads very springtime to me, though I can see why it’s a hue incorporated into this collection as a result of the collaboration with Andy Warhol.  Of all the five individually releasnig shades, 15 Minutes was the “worst” performing.  It is a bit streaky, and it did have a longer dry down time compared to the other four.  For a yellow, it’s rather good, though.  I think with a couple of practice applications, most of the streakiness can be dealt with. The color is opaque after two coats, though, and the formula doesn’t feel too thick, but it is on the slightly thicker side.  NARS’ polish typically wears well on me with very minor tip wear after seven days–some shades I’ve worn for as long as ten days.

I like yellow polish (reminds me of Madonna, lol I’m old!) Though, for some reason, I’m not 100% sold on it.

Love how well you apply polish to your nails every single time! Any secret, besides practice, practice, practice? ^_^

Sorry if this information is already somewhere and I just haven’t found it, but when you swatch test polish for reviews do you use a base and a top coat?

The color’s pretty even if I’m not a huge fan of yellows, but I can see some streaking. I’m a little surprised it scored an A- instead of like a B+ or a B. *shrug* Just my thought.

You’re right, plenty of dupes around. I still like it a lot though, very summery. Let’s wear it while we still can! Oh wait, didn’t I just state in another topic that I never stick to seasonal trends? … 🙂

For a yellow, even with the streaking, that’s pretty good! Yellow nail varnish is generally not for me and, yet, something about this colour is really appealing. One of my YSL eyeshadow Duos (and the one I wore just recently) is almost this colour and it looks surprisingly nice on me given my olive-yellow skin, so I think I’ll ponder this one.

okay, even though yellow is not my color this is adorable!! i am so in love with all of nars recent polishes, the orange and teal are amazing as well! i let out a gasp when i scrolled down the website and saw them 🙂

Love this yellow, so smooth and buttery. Plenty of pop for a pastel-esque shade and not at all “taxi cab”. For a yellow, very good application — even a relative nail novice like myself could knock this one outta the park in two coats.

Sally Hansen’s Mellow Yellow is a super-close dupe. At maybe 1/4 of the price, could be an okay sub if you’re also willing to put up with it being nearly 1/4 (or less) of the formula quality of Nars 15 Minutes. Once on the nail, though, only the hardcore lacquer fans will see the difference.
