MyTemptalia - Glossover and Related Products - New Features!
You may have noticed The Glossover has an updated look and feel, and it is now integrated with MyTemptalia, which means you can easily add products I’ve just reviewed here on the blog to your vanity and wishlist. If you’ve already tried the product, you can add your quick review by rating it on a five-star scale and add tags if desired. You must be logged in to take advantage of these features, so be sure to login, and if you aren’t signed-up, you can register here! You’ll also find our love it and leave it buttons as we’ve always had them 🙂
When a post contains multiple shades or palette, there may be individual ratings given (new reviews will have this going forward; older reviews do not, as individual grades were not inputted at the time). If you want to see all of the individual ratings, make sure to click “Click to Reveal More Glossovers!”
Seven years of posts means… older posts will show the palette as a whole, and any product with, say five lipstick shades, isn’t going to be fully functional, because no individual grades were given. We were able to pull in a lot of old reviews into the updated system, but some old posts will not have this functionality as they do not have the Glossover rating system (this is also true on any type of product, like skincare, that does not currently have a rating system in place). We are still adding past reviews into the database, so reviews we have not yet added are not able to be added to vanities/wishlists until we have them in the database.
Finally, at the end of each post, you’ll also see a set of “Related Products” listed. This will show only on products that are in MyTemptalia now, and we are adding all of the new reviews as they are posted, and we are continuing to add in old reviews and new brands/products going forward (we have 38 brands fully implemented, which span 24,000+ products… any volunteers to help us with adding the rest? LOL!).
Next feature we hope to release is a revamped and updated Swatch Gallery. We have a whole laundry list of features we’ll be adding, and as we roll them out, I will be sure to update you. Thank you for all of your feedback and patience! 🙂
I’m having wayy to much fun with these new features… seriously, I have stuff to do, but this is distracting me! xD
That’s what we like to hear 🙂
But go get your stuff done! We’ll be here when you get back <3
This site never fails to surprise me! I’ve updated my vanity and wishlist yesterday, and will be doing it again today. Oh, and whenever I’m stressed out, a quick visit to Temptalia makes me feel better instantly. 🙂
Aww, thank you Precious 🙂
By the way, are you still going to review MAC Strobe Liquid Lotion in Golden Elixir? I’ve been meaning to ask you, but didn’t know where to post it. 🙂
I’m still testing it!
Hey Christine, I made an account a couple days ago. Where do I go now to log in?
Should be on the upper right area, right above the navigation, of your page. Screen shot:
I Love this!!! Its very interactive with us readers. This is why I love your site.
Thank you, Kari!
This is brilliant. Your hard work never cease to amaze me. (And yes, that includes the tech monkeys’ share of hard work). 🙂
Thank you, Ryou! 🙂
I cannot even BEGIN to imagine how much work this has taken and will take going forward. All I can say is well done you!! And thanks as always for being the best beauty blog there is. I look forward to the new features and changes.
Thank you so much, Terri! 🙂
Please consider to make it easier to update your vanity by allowing to choose more products from a list? I have quite a substantial amount of products and it would take forever to fill up the shelves in my vanity. But love the idea of having an overview of colours I already own!!!
Hi Anette!
This is a future feature, but we have a few other things we need to roll out first! Thanks!
Yeah, this is my comment as well. It looks awesome but when I started to add products I realized it was going to take forever adding one thing at a time. I’d love to have a list where I could select from a bunch of products at a time (like maybe from all the MAC lipsticks) and add them all at one. Thanks!
Oh, and I wanted to add, thank you, the idea of having an online list of beauty products is brilliant and so helpful.
This is the coolest feature ever! I’ll be out of work on sick leave for the next month or two… Guess I know what I’ll be doing with my time… LOL
Thank you, Amanda!
Hope you feel better!
I LOVE those new features, specially the “my vanity” one
Thanks so much!
Yay, I’m loving the new features!
Thanks a lot, Jen!
Wow – I just think all the new MyTemptalia stuff is SO COOL! You guys have done a great job!
Thanks, Jen!
Oh no! I was being so diligent about studying and just checking in once in a while on temptalia, but now I’m totally distracted by this haha! Really excellent functionality… I guess I can delete all those bookmarks I made to my wishlist items^^
Aww! Thank you, Kira!
I am so excited about these new features! I would love if you would add a “product dries out” or similar tag for cream products like blushes and eyeshadows.
Thank you for the suggestions! 🙂
Thanks for figuring out what was happening to my comments! Also, for nail polish, a “quick-drying” tag would be useful as well! Again, I love these new features (before this, I’d been using Pinterest to compile a “vanity,” but it was much less user-friendly for searches, etc.)!
Thank you again, Jennifer! I’m glad we were able to figure it out quickly for you!
Please change the PURCHASE button to a prettier color than green (pink or purple?). Also, please don’t make me click to “reveal more glossovers.” I just want to see all the grades without having to click anything. Thanks for listening to my feedback!
Thanks for your feedback!
I’ve seen in the community, other’s giving written reviews. Is that only open for some community members or am I just missing where we can do that? I can do a quick review (give stars) to products and tag them, but I can’t figure out how to give written reviews. Thanks!
Hi Jennifer,
Right now, you have to click on the product’s page and write your full review there 🙂 We will be adding a third (optional) step that will allow you to write more if you so desired (so after you rated and added tags, it would prompt you asking if you wanted to write a full review).
Thank you!
