Monday Motivation: August 24th, 2009

Now with school back in full swing, Mondays are worse than ever. I’m basically in school ALL day long on Mondays. I know, I did it to myself, but gah, it is still hard to get through all my classes without zoning out.

  • CARGO blu_ray Pressed Powder ($30.00) was one of those products that had a lot of buzz when it initially launched, but I just never had a chance to try. I’m still quite curious about how it works and holds up in photos!
  • TheBalm Cabana Boy ($20.00) looks like a really gorgeous rosy cheek shade. The packaging is also really cute, which is actually what grabbed my attention first (ha!).
  • Calvin Klein Tempting Glimmer Sheer Creme Eyeshadow ($18.00) look like pretty, shimmery cream shadows. I’m most interested in trying Champagne Satin or Turquoise Blue. Both look like great shades to me.
  • Guerlain Rouge G Lipstick ($45.00) is a formula I’d like to try sometime in my life… I just wish I could see these in person!
  • Clinique ‘Vitamin C Lip Smoothie’ Antioxidant Lip Color ($17.50) is a new lipgloss by Clinique, and I’m interested to see how the color applies (sheer or opaque?) and lasts on lips.
  • Benefit Moon Beam ($24.00) is something I am now really interested in trying out after some of you found High Beam to be too pale/ashy on you, but loved Moon Beam instead.
  • Nude Miracle Mask ($70.00) sounds like a great mask for the end of the week, and I like that it has AHA in it. The price is a bit steep though, so I’ll have to think a bit on this one.

Guerlain rouge G is wonderful, the formula is so smooth, long lasting, and hydrating. Honestly I have never felt ANY lipstick like it. The casing is fairly heavy and to open the mirror all you have to do is pull the lippie out. I have this in greta and I honestly love it.

I bought the Guerlain rouge G in Gala and it is the most beautiful red colour and in Gardenia a neutral pink. I really hate the compact/casing, it is heavy and really big. The price omg, here in Denmark it is closer to 63 $ that is a lot.

I want to try clinique’s new lip smoothies but I’m waiting for bonus time. 🙂 I’m hoping that they’re like the liquid lipsticks from so long ago.

I love ck Clavin Klein make up. The other day, I went to the store checking ck make up and the girl there asked me if I needed help. I responded ‘I just check colors, thank you!’. She responded, ‘if you like the brand, buy it now cause they’re stopping the production’. Does anybody know if that is just for France or if they also stop everywhere?

I have a few of the Rouge G lipsticks. They’re ok – good – but not as good as the YSL Rouge Volupte IMO. I really dislike the packaging – the fancy mirror and strange case is just a bother for me. I’ve heard that they’ll eventually switch the formula into regular packaging which would lower the price 🙂 I’m hoping that comes sooner than later!

That would really be great. I´m loving the lipsticks, but that packaging :argh: don’t get me started >.< I´ll have to try those YSL, thanks.

I love theBalm’s products in general! I haven’t tried Cabana Boy, but I’m a huge fan of their other blush Hot Mama, the color is similar to Nars Orgasm which I love as well, but I find this one to give off more golden shimmer and it looks awesome with a tan. The texture is very blendable and even too, I would highly recommend! I also got the Cargo Bluray set when they first introduced the line last spring, and I liked the blush and the powder, worth a try:)

I have two Guerlain Rouge G 66 Gracia and 67 Giovanna (fall 2009 collection) and I just love them. It is one of the best lipstick i had and the packaging is a show stopper. Yes it is expensive 45$ CAN but hey a girl need to reward herself once and a while 🙂

I bought the Calvin Klein cream shadow. Those colors were gorgeous. I tried the dark blue a few times but the color you get in the jar is just not the same as what you get on your eyes. You have to put very little or else it creases, and even then it creased for me. Also since my skin has slight yellow undertones, the blue just wasn’t the same. Also, the shadow is so frothy that one little jar of it is just not worth the 18 bucks. It saddened me, but i returned it. If the product had been better, i would have bought other colors. =(

Ooooohhh I love my Cargo blu_ray powder! It’s perfect for light coverage as well as full coverage. I’ve gotten so many compliments on my skin because of this powder. I think you should check it out, Christine! 😀
