Milani Baked Metallic Eyeshadow: Rich Java

Milani Rich Java Baked Metallic Eyeshadow ($7.49 for 0.05 oz.) a medium-dark chocolaty brown with subtle red undertones and a delicate bronze micro-shimmer layered on top.  It did seem to pull redder in the pan, but when swatched, it’s much less apparent.  The softer shimmer and finish of Rich Java really elevates it, too, because it has nice color coverage (though it seems less intense swatched than the color seen in the pan).  It applies nearly the same wet as it does dry, just a little smoother.

I do wish they’d ditch the sponge/brush applicator, though, because the bristles are splayed and scratchy, while the sponge is thin and surprisingly scratchy. I did like the switch to a black interior, over the champagne gold from the Runway Eyeshadows. The lid is also quite secure, and I had to pry it open with my nails.

Oh! I just saw this at Walgreen’s! I picked it up and was thinking how nice a brown it was, but then I put it back because I have so many browns its not even funny (especially since I went to Walgreens to find the Wet n’ Wild Color iCon palette in Comfort Zone (which I had been looking for for weeks!) But I might just have to go back and pick this guy up, after seeing the swatches!

Milani keeps impressing us, it seems! I have two of their lip products. They come in a tall black case, and it reminds me of like solid lipgloss/lipstick all rolled into one. Anyway, they are AMAZING. I’m going to definitely have to get some of these baked shadows, and their liners, and so much other stuff from them >.<

Oooh, that’s a pretty brown. I have to get myself to CVS sometime to check out the Milani makeup there.. I’ll be mad if their pretty eyeshadows aren’t there!

so pretty!
Has anybody ever ordered off of milani’s website, I want to order some stuff but I don’t know if it is safe/ other people’s experiences with them.

The applicator with Milani’s shadows is awful, but I really like these new shadows. I have this one, Purrfect Purple and the red one (which goes on a little more brick orange than red.) I looove them, and if you can ignore the awful applicator and just use a normal brush, they’re great!
