Milani Baked Metallic Eyeshadow: Mix It Up

Milani Mix It Up Baked Metallic Eyeshadow ($7.49 for 0.05 oz.) is a blackened base with iridescent teal and silver shimmer. When used wet, it’s absolutely gorgeous–really rich and luxuriously deep in color. Used dry, less of the iridescent and sheen is visible and has a slightly powdery finish. Milani notes that these should be used dry for a softer look and wet for something more intense, which is why I think the pigmentation is as expected based on Milani’s claims.

I do wish they’d ditch the sponge/brush applicator, though, because the bristles are splayed and scratchy, while the sponge is thin and surprisingly scratchy. I did like the switch to a black interior, over the champagne gold from the Runway Eyeshadows. The lid is also quite secure, and I had to pry it open with my nails.

Less pigmented than the Too Faced ones. And less holding power on the eyelids.I like Too Faced much better. I have several of their Galaxy shadows. I use distilled or purified drinking water, w/ my colors. Never from the tap. I noticed having fall out, from this line. Or, you could mix it, w/ Too Faced Shadow Insurance; or another primer, and lay it down on the eye.

gorgeous color! I can’t wait to wear this. Yea, I was curious about the applicator. Does the curve make it awkward to use?

Wow, I find myself really liking this color. A lot of “blackened” shades end up way too black to hardly be worth owning separate from doing some blending with actual black.

I could see myself using this with a white, glittery color (sometimes I think I’m the only one in the world that LOVES UD’s Uzi), and then a nice pop of teal eyeliner on the waterline.

OH! I’m sold just by the swatches! I am going to buy this online since our town doesn’t have a cvs/walgreens and our wal-mart (is not super center) does not have a big selection.
