Melt Cosmetics She's in Parties Palette Swatches (2020)
Melt Cosmetics She’s in Parties Palette ($48.00) just launched, and it appears that it will replace the original stack (which contained four shades). While the shades from the original stack are repeated in the palette below, the formulas were definitely different (improved, really), plus four new shades.

Your swatches are so different than what I’ve seen elsewhere, where it looked mostly brown. This is gorgeous and very me, I hope it performs well!
This might break my no buy?!!
Pretty but seems to overlap a little. I love shades like Strange Love.
Agreed on the overlap! I really like each individual color which doesn’t happen that often but I wish there was more variation.
This one looks promising! I have the She’s In Parties Stack already, but I love the new shades in this one and am awfully tempted to pick it up since the stack is one of my ride-or-dies. Plus, this is more travel friendly than the stacks (not that I get to travel—but I have such a constant state of wanderlust that I’m always thinking of what could be travel friendly!)
I’m so curious if melt will put out corresponding gel liners with this release and what they will look like. While I’ve stopping buying palettes for a while (and for this one Strange Love is so gorgeous) the liners always seem to draw me in!
Oh wow that’s pretty ??? those colors are gorgeous. I’m looking forward to the review on this!
Gosh, I have enough eyeshadow to last me a lifetime, but this one is a stunner! Those purples are calling me. Can’t wait for the full review Christine!
When I saw the palette photo and the individual pans, I thought the swatches would be more differentiated. As Tiffany and Maggie said, fair amount of overlap. The swatches look pretty one note. Many looks just don’t jump out at me. I think no matter how you vary the placement, the looks will give the same overall ‘feel.’ From the personal POV, I can tell this would go muddy. I’d lose the burgundy and it’d pull brown. I guess that’s what we’re here for, to learn to be more discerning and infer what would/would not work for you. I really like it, though, strangely.
While the colors look pretty, they also look alike to me. And when I blend ones like this, I just get one color of mud. But I’ll await the review…
This actually looks really appealing to me – some warmer, red-toned shades that I could and would actually wear. All the colours are really nice. But I think it’s going to take a lot to get me excited about makeup these days. It’s almost like the Pandemic has been the start of a sorely-needed “withdrawal” for me.
I have the original stack and I pulled it out because I wanted to revisit how it wound up in my 2nd tier drawer. I know some loved the stack formula, but it was a miss for me in my attempts to build colour on my lid. This time armed with ABH primer which I was not using at the time, I did not find it performed any better. I just cannot get the shadows to build and end up with a great deal of fallout in the effort. I love these colours, perhaps this palette needs to be mine. However, I do gravitate to this shade range so will have to consider dupes.
I think the inclusion of the lavendar shade is brilliant. I wish they had dumped the ‘she’s in parties shade—which is my least favourite in the stack as well—and gone with sleep walk as the ‘new and improved’ she’s in parties. It look richer and a bit redder…yum✅. I would have added another midtone shade to the palette instead of having both, that’s for sure.
Jury is out on this for the time being. A careful look at dupes will be a must. This palette is over 60 dollars in Canada, over 70 with taxes.
This is 100% a buy for me! I love Melt’s palettes and this one is gorgeous!
I think this palette is a missed chance. With more variety I would be all over it, but as stated above, the two dark mattes and the two medium metallics will look exactly the same on the eye.
Now this is how I would envision a “naked” purple palette looking! The pigmentation and smoothness of these swatches gives me a really positive feeling about this. It looks promising!
