Maybelline Vivid Rose ColorSensational Vivids Lipcolor ($7.49 for 0.15 oz.) is a bold, medium-dark pink with rosy red undertones and a natural sheen. NARS Jardin des Plantes has a slight shimmer and is a touch brighter. Tarina Tarantino Fuchsia Lining is sheerer, so it appears more subdued. Guerlain Champs-Elysees is pinker/cooler-toned. MAC Scan-delicious is a touch pinker. MAC Gesina is close but a bit redder.
Maybelline wasn’t kidding about this being a vivid color–it’s intense, bright, and bold–and it had nice color coverage being very nearly opaque (there’s a slight shadow of my lip freckle coming through). What’s nice about the coverage, though, is that it’s rich without feeling heavy. It also applied beautifully and evenly without settling into lip lines, and while I wore it, I didn’t have trouble with the color feathering or bleeding. Vivid Rose wore for six hours well, and then a stain lingered for another hour or so. It has a sweet, fruity scent that I didn’t find overwhelming. It was neither drying nor hydrating, and the consistency was just creamy enough so it didn’t pull or tug at the lips but didn’t feel slick.

The colour is so gorgeous but I’m worried I might have dupes of it… do you have MAC Impassioned? If yes, how similar are they?

I just bought this one a couple weeks ago! Along with three more from the Vivids line (Pink Pop, Shocking Coral & Vibrant Mandarin). I’m a little obsessed with the whole line and will probably purchase a few more, haha. They are buy one, get one 50% off at Ulta right now!
I love this color so much! Now I want to go get all the Vivid lipsticks…. but I just put myself on shopping probation. This is torture.

pretty! looks like the Crazy Pink I have from the regular Color Sensational line 😀 they are nice and pretty indeed, i love the way they look on my lips, i have 5 but i never noticed it has benzyl alcohol in it until this month 🙁 towards the end at least.(whyyy?:()
i guess that’s why it’s not moisturizing, it would be if not for that. bummer.

The ColorSensational line is so awesome and they have great pigmentation and wear.
But they smell like PlayDoh and dirt.
I just bought one of these last week (I think it was Pink Pop) and it’s so smooth and soft on my lips. And it even smells good! I can’t wait to get more.
When I first saw the ‘Vivids’ I thought only teenagers could get away with them, but they are suprisingly versatile. Stunning on deep complexions, and if you can get (or have) a really nice smooth foundation they work on pale skin too. Have to hand it to Maybelline, their lipsticks really are up there with the best.
I freaking love these lipsticks. They’re gorgeous, wearable and apply like buttah!
I love Maybelline lipsticks, but lately I am unable to tolerate the fruity scent they have. It gives me a bad headache. Gorgeous color anyways!
One of my favourite shades in the Vivids line! So bright and brilliant-don’t normally get a lot of drugstore makeup but have every shade in the line and love them all 🙂
How does this compare to Impassioned by MAC? I keep wanting to get this color but when I see it at the store (the covers aren’t taped down like most brands so you’re able to take them off and twist the bullet up) it reminds me of Impassioned which I already have.

I went out and bought this today because of this review. I love it! The color is even more gorgeous in person, and it stayed mostly intact even after eating greasy chinese food. Thanks Christine for bringing such a great product to my attention!

I LOVE THIS! I’m so glad u reviewed it, even though I have had this from like day one it came out. I am usualy a more cool toned pink type girl but there is someting about this, that it’s def my fav out the collection and frankily all my maybelline lipsticks!
Ooo! I love this entire line of lipsticks, but this will be perfect to replace a shade that didn’t work for me for this summer.

I’ve had Vibrant Mandarin for a few months and just ADORE it! This week I plan to pick up more of the vivids!
Its so so pretty and bright. So perfect for Spring/ Summer.
I intentionally avoided these at first, because all of the tubes in the store were orange, so I thought all of the lipsticks inside were orange! Color matching tubes would have been nice.
the lipstick just looks so….juicy? lol it almost looks gel like in the tube

Similar but not quite as strong, IMO!

I have been wearing this lipstick daily. It looks amazing on fair skin, is bright without being overwhelming. I love the texture of these lipsticks, their longevity, and how they leave my lips in smooth condition–no drying! I want more of the vivids collection, that is for sure.
If Maybelline was cruelty free I’d be all over that cause it looks like an awesome shade.
Man, Vivid Rose was my second choice when I went to Target to grab one of these! I bought Hot Plum instead, which misleadingly is a hot pink with warm undertones (Fuschia Flash for Asian skintones, IMO). Now I’m having regrets about my choice…

Based on this review I went out and purchased Vivid Rose and On Fire red. Today I wore Vivid Rose and boy does this formula have staying power. After 5 hours it still looked good. I had lunch, snacks and drank coffee. I am hoping the red is just as good. I just might have to check out a few more colours.
