When we built out the Makeup Recommendations tool on Temptalia, the goal was to have more of a permanent place to keep recommendations and make them easier to access at any point.  We really did not account for how a set of recommendations might appear over time, e.g. outdated because older ones had more time to generate recommendations and newer products falling behind.  So, we’ve “reset” the recommendations so-to-speak and opened recommendations across the board to reflect favorites as they stand in 2020.

Products recommended previously will still have “recommendations” toward them, but this will enable a topic like “Best Eyeshadow Palettes (2020)” to better reflect any changes in technology, color stories, and the like. Recommendations do not have to be for permanent vs. limited edition products, and they don’t have to be confined to what was released in 2020 either. Some recommendation topics are restricted to formula, e.g. “MAC Eyeshadow,” or for specific shades, e.g. “MAC Freshwater Eyeshadow.’

So, if you’re looking for a way to pass some time today, or you love sharing your favorites (and seeing what others love), I welcome you to submit your favorites for any of these topics…

Please keep discussion on-topic, and if you have general feedback, a product review request, an off-topic question, or need technical support, please contact us!

Please help us streamline the comments' section and be more efficient: double-check the post above for more basic information like pricing, availability, and so on to make sure your question wasn't answered already. Comments alerting us to typos or small errors in the post are appreciated (!) but will typically be removed after errors are fixed (unless a response is needed).

We appreciate enthusiasm for new releases but ask readers to please hold questions regarding if/when a review will be posted as we can't commit to or guarantee product reviews. We don't want to set expectations and then disappoint readers as even products that are swatched don't always end up being reviewed due to time constraints and changes in priorities! Thank you for understanding!

Has anyone tried the Maybelline Lifter Glosses? One shade (unknown) has been compared to a Fenty gloss (shade unknown). I have yet to experience Fenty so I can’t speak to these claims. Seeing Fenty gloss listed on the best lipgloss page made me think about this. FYI, CVS carries four additional shades exclusive to them. I am very impressed by them, especially being a DS product. The shade range isn’t huge and they’re pretty much in the neutral range but they are so moisturizing. I could do without the scent but it fades away quickly so it’s not a deal breaker. Being on a budget, it’s nice to find a DS product that I enjoy. I have super dry lips and this gloss is legit moisturizing. It’s a bit on the thick side but, to me, that’s not an issue at all. These are nice on top of lipstick as well as being easy to apply on the go. Masks are cramping my lipstick game but I find myself wearing the gloss around the house. Awesome DS find. It’s been so long since something delighted me. This is the best budget gloss that I’ve come across in a long time.
