Makeup Geek Eyeshadows: Glamorous (inner lid), Mango Tango (middle of lid),
Simply Marlena (outer lid), Duchess (crease), Peach Smoothie (brow), Liquid Gold (lash line)
Makeup Geek Glamorous Eyeshadow ($5.99 for 0.064 oz.) is described as a “shimmery bronze gold.” It’s a golden copper with subtle hints of brown and a soft, frosted finish. At a glance, it doesn’t seem overly complicated, but when swatched and applied, there are so many layers to it–it’s not quite orange, copper, or brown, but a mix, and the golden shimmer makes it look lit from within. It had excellent color payoff, was soft and silky to the touch, and blended easily. It wore well for eight and a half hours before showing signs of fading. Anastasia Rum Cake (LE) is browner. Makeup Geek Vegas Lights (P, $6.99) is more orange, sparkly. LORAC Gold (P) is similar but more frosted. Marc Jacobs Beauty The Starlet #4 (P) is slightly more orange, more frosted. Guerlain Cuivre Ora (LE, $35.00) is darker, more orange and frosted. NARS Isolde #1 (P, $24.00) is more golden. See comparison swatches.
Goddess Eyeshadow ($5.99 for 0.064 oz.) is described as a “metallic pale copper.” It’s a medium-dark, coppery brown with a soft, satiny finish. It didn’t read metallic when I swatched it; quite the opposite, smoother, softer, and satin to pearl in finish. It is darker, warmer, and more orange compared to Glamorous. The color payoff was fantastic, and the consistency was soft and buttery. It wore well for almost nine hours before fading. Cle de Peau #121 (LE, $45.00) is browner. Makeup Geek Vegas Lights (P, $6.99) is more metallic but very similar in color. Sleek MakeUP Sunset #9 (P, $9.99) is more metallic. Sugarpill Asteria (LE, $12.00) is also more metallic, brighter. Marc Jacobs Beauty The Starlet #4 (P) is more metallic, lighter. Guerlain Cuivre Ora (LE, $35.00) is similar but more metallic. See comparison swatches.
Hipster Eyeshadow ($5.99 for 0.064 oz.) is described as a “dark sand and light taupe tan with slight shimmer.” It’s a medium-dark, muted brown with neutral-to-warm undertones and a satin finish. It had fairly good color payoff, and the texture was easy to blend, but it could be a little softer and more pigmented. It wore well for eight hours before starting to fade on the lid. Urban Decay Factory (P, $18.00) is darker. NARS Flowers 3 #3 (LE, $24.00) is a touch lighter. Dior Fairy Golds #5 (LE) is darker. See comparison swatches.

Ack! The looks are all so gorgeous! You are so talented, Christine! 🙂
I only wish I could blend like that!
Aw, thank you Sylirael!!
The first eye look reminds me of a rainbow. Stunning, Christine! 🙂
Thank you, Precious! xo
I still need to get some MUG in my life.
You dooo!
Definitely one of the brands I am itching to try out. This post may just push me into doing just that. Lovely looks, Christine!
You really should…affordable and you can’t go wrong with any of the colors 🙂
Beautiful looks as always Christine
It looks like you had a lot of fun with the colors! The looks are really pretty 🙂
Pretty looks! You make me want them all!
I like the blue mermaid and lemon drop eye looks. So pretty!
Drop dead gorgeous looks, Ms. Christine. Between you + Marlena, you’ve go all the bases covered. You are both ultra-talented. Are you going to review the MUG lipsticks, too? I got the MUG expander palette + a few singles in a Z, and find your reviews spot on. Bang for the buck, MUG is the way to go. Plus, they ship internationally, reasonably, and quickly.
Have a Merry Christmas + try to take some time off, The amount of work you do is prodigious + very much appreciated by your audience + fans.
No lipsticks on the horizon – they’re being discontinued, so it didn’t make sense to request them since they’re not going to be around for much longer. So glad you’re enjoying your Makeup Geek eyeshadows! 😀
Thank you so much! 🙂
How come I missed the post ? Shame on me 🙁

Thank you, Rashmi! 🙂
I’m really glad this is a look-heavy post. I love seeing them on eyelids. Thanks a lot, Christine ^^
I enjoy my Makeup Geek shadows, glad to see your in depth reviews. I own 33 mug shadows, And i love them all, there are a couple that aren’t as smooth and buttery as I’d like. But even so, I am getting good use from them with primer/base. My favorites are cocoa bear, creme brûlée, peach smoothie, frappe, glamorous and goddess.
For the love of god… I just discovered MUG while looking for MAC eyeshadow tutorials on YouTube. I went ahead and purchased 4 of them to try but after seeing how gorgeous they are on you now I must have them all!!! (Will never look the same on me of course, I don’t have your skill but I can try!)
Aww, thank you, Kristi!! That is so sweet of you to say. I am sure you could create even better looks 😀
