I’m ready to tear my hair bodily out of my scalp with frustration; why must every palette have pink tones these days? Warmer, cooler, it matters not — pink, pink, PINK tones everywhere. Why does this “gold” palette need pinkish shades???
Me and my pink-rejecting eyelids have about had enough. No, I don’t want your mauves or roses or rosy neutrals. Aaaaaaargh.
Here here! +++
I feel much the same but there are a few nice “non pink/red” shades in here but at least 6 shades I wouldn’t wear!!! What I do like, though, is that the shadows have NAMES and not just numbers!
Rose gold? That’s all I can think of…
How about some white gold shades??
Here ++++ adding reds and oranges 😆
It’s not that I don’t like them (on others), they just don’t suit me.
Make-Up-For-Ever could have played way more on the gold theme; I understand the idea of white-gold or rose-gold thrown into the mix, but I think they could have explored gold-gold better. And even the `green` part (which I assume that it’s somewhat related to money / dollar bills).
Absolutely Tessa, I am with you. All those pink tones have just put me off the palette.
Do you plan to review this palette, Christine? My rule of thumb is: don’t buy until you’ve heard from Temptalia!
Hi Jessica,
Because I am behind 100% of the time and different products launch (some I’m not aware are coming), I don’t like to commit to a review in advance because… I really don’t know until I’m about 80% of the way there. Even so, there are times where I’ve done all the work except write the review and never get to it.
Thanks for the reply, Christine. Your readers (myself included) appreciate all you do.
I’m not interested in this palette at all, but I do like the layout of palette up. The color story is set up really well. You can easily create monochromatic looks, neutral looks, and warmer toned looks.
I’m waiting for the review and dupes for `Bullion`. 😀
Right now, this isn’t speaking to me at all. Maybe when I see swatches.
I love the left 3 rows and the very far right row… but I don’t want the oranges and rarely use them when they are included in palettes so those two rows are throw away rows for me. However, I think that the left 9 and the right 9 would be great as separate palettes and don’t need to be meshed together this way. It would be more affordable and cost effective and I would 100% get the left side no questions asked. It is $45 which isn’t necessarily a bad price for a bigger palette, but do I want such a big palette to store when I really only want half of it? If the oranges are actually more pink (which I love) and less orange/red (the promo pics look very different to me on that part of the palette) then I could see myself wearing it. I’ll have to check it out in person.
This looks interesting, but I wouldn’t use those pinkish shades.
I am in the minority here but the pink shades don’t bother me as I can wear them and they are favorite shades. Having said that, I really don’t need anymore and this palette just looks like a snooze fest to me. I guess it will be interesting to see if the formula is good but MUFE didn’t exactly hit the ball out of the park with their last reformulation so I will have to wait and see with this one. I guess we have seen pretty much every iteration of e/s shades because no one seems to be producing really unique shades so maybe now it is just getting the right combinations in shades and formulas that really work exceptionally and then brands can just stop making anymore!!
You know what’s weird? I can’t find any information about the grams or oz of the pans. The palette is pretty affordable so… are the pans dime sized? Or as deep as a sheet of paper?
For my NC30 skin with gold undertones, its right up my alley. As pretty as this looks, I’m afraid I’ve got too many eyeshadows to splurge on this one.
Oh, this is so up my alley. I love Makeup For Ever eyeshadows and neutrals too…I’ll be breaking my no buy for this.
Seems like a solid offering designed for people who don’t already have overflowing stashes. If the shadows are any good, this is a winner, IMO. I really like the combo of creams, taupe-y tans, peaches, pinks, and mauves. This is exactly the kind of palette I would have gone for umpteen years ago (before I overwhelmed myself with eyeshadow purchases) as a supplement to my more intense color choices, and as an option for “normal-looking” makeup days.
The more I look at the layout of this palette, the more impressed I am. Honestly, this is beautifully done.
This palette leaves me thinking, “Dah…” It just seems so so plain. The colors are pretty-ty and soft, but for my NC 37ish self, they would do little.
