Make Up For Ever #9L Aqua Eyes Liner

Make Up For Ever Aqua Eyes Liner:  #9L

Make Up For Ever #9L Aqua Eyes Liner ($17.00) is a pale gold with a high sheen. While it does have shimmer, it doesn’t look like it–much more like a sheen. It’s a nice shade to use in conjunction with blues, browns, greens, and teals. I don’t have a liner quite this color from other brands, because it’s not quite a true gold–it’s more like a golden yellow, where it looks more yellow than gold. It’s much paler, lighter, and yellower in comparison to Urban Decay’s Honey Liner.

I love the Aqua Eyes formula because it really does what it’s supposed to! It’s a long-wearing eyeliner that’s waterproof that won’t migrate to anywhere you didn’t apply it. You can smudge it if you want, but it’ll set after a few minutes and stay put. I also like that they have such a wide shade range available (25 colors available on Sephora!), because who doesn’t want to collect them all? (And I know some of you have the Aqua Eyes Collector Set… I’m totally jealous!)

The only thing I could think of to improve the formula is to make it just the tiniest bit creamier.  They’re not stiff or hard on the eyes at all, but I’ve found that I definitely prefer more of the ultra glide-on creaminess of liners like Urban Decay.  I keep my Urban Decay and Make Up For Ever eyeliners separate from all my other eyeliners–and I’m constantly reaching for one of the two!

What’s your favorite shade of Aqua Eyes?

Recommendation:  If you need a long-wearing eyeliner, Aqua Eyes has an incredible formula that really holds up well for all-day-long wear.  They’re easy to use, come in a variety of shades, and look fantastic on.  Maybe #9L isn’t your cup of tea–but surely one of the other 25 is!

I actually have this liner. I have used it a couple of times under eye. The first time it was a little smudgy, so I used a brush. I also have the olive green liner (don’t remember the number). It’s a bit on the harder side.

How would you compare the color of this to Eldorado? I love my mini pencil, but it’s going to be gone at some point, and I’ll have to replace it!

I really love this liner, I just got it actually a few days ago and I love its staying power! The only thing I don’t like is that for some reason I gotta swipe it a few times for it to be seen. But love it nonetheless!

Wow, thats pretty pale.

I’ve been wanting to try these but can’t seem to justify or budget the cost for just one pencil. Maybe it they’d make little deluxe or travel sets — I’d so be on them. Any chance of that happening that you’ve heard Temptalia?

This is beautiful. It looks like it would be a great color on the waterline to brighten the eyes rather than using white. Do you agree? What about for my nc15 skin tone? It’s a gorgeous color either way!

MUFE stays on me so much better than UD, so I find they don’t need to be creamier. They’re still creamy. I don’t buy UD anymore, as they don’t stay on. The gold you showcase is really pretty.

Love the colour! I may look for it.

While I love the quality I don’t always love the price and I have found the GOSH liners. as a less expensive alternative, are just as creamy, waterproof, budgeproof and have a wide range of colours. I’d put them right up there with my MUFE and Smashbox liners.

Oooooh so pretty! Do you know how it compares to UD El Dorado 24/7? It only came in that limited set and I freaking love El Dorado, so I’m wondering if this is a good dupe for it.

I don’t know if they sell it in the US but there’s a Barry M eyeliner (10) that looks pretty similar to this, but only about £4. Maybe it’s a bit less yellow, but quite close!

I absolutely love MUFE Aqua Eyes eyeliner!! It’s my favorite ever! I think if they made it creamier then it’d might smudge more like UD. I am also jealous of you that have the whole set! It’s like an eyeliner dream. 😀

Any suggestions for a nice pure gold liner I can use on my waterline and on the inner corners of my eyes for a brightening effect?. I have olivey green eyes and I don’t want it to look garish in any way or too bright I suppose. Just want a bit of sparkle on my eyes.
Thanks!!!
