Make Up For Ever #13 Rouge Artist Intense Lipstick Review, Photos, Swatches
The Sultry Season: Make Up For Ever #13 Rouge Artist Intense Lipstick
Make Up For Ever #13 Rouge Artist Intense Lipstick ($19.00 for 0.12 oz.) is a gorgeous berried red with ruby and raspberry shimmer. It has rich, nearly opaque color, and it wears phenomenally. This is a color that you can put on and forget about for hours–I get five hours of really nice wear out of this shade.  It has nice pigmentation without being heavy or thick, and though it’s not drying, it clings to lips a bit (but in a good way, I swear!).  #13 is a fitting shade for both fall and winter making it one multi-tasking lipstick!
Is this the right red for you? Would you wear it?
The Sultry Season is a series of posts featuring deep, rich shades of brown, berry, plum, and wine lipsticks and lipglosses — just right for autumn — that runs through October 2010.

Oh yeah! Stunning. Love it.
This colour us gorgeous on you!!!
Thank you, Molkinaify!
That’s one hot lipstick and it looks great on you. I have to admit, it does remind me of Queen’s Sin.
Thanks, Latonya!
Such a lovely colour!
Is that really a “pearly plum”? It looks so much redder here than on Sephora. It’s beautiful!
That’s the # and the color!
wow love the little shimmers in this, this lippy has to be my fav so far from the sultry season. looks awesome on you!!!
Thank you so much, Shakz!
gorgeous! I shall pick this up. Thanks for the swatch Christine. MUFE new lipsticks have become my weakness
ohmygod. i’m obsessed with this shade. deep berries/reds i’m such a sucker for.
looks awesome!
Looks so gorg on you, Christine!
Thanks a lot, Wendy!
Stone lipliner by MAC… It’s not the best, but I haven’t found anything better to go with almost everything.
Oops… this was supposed to be in the backup post.
I am fairly new to this site and I find myself checking Temptalia like I check my email! I love it!
Aww! Thank you, April!
Oh that’s lovely. Not something I’d normally buy myself, but seeing it on you is quite pretty!
Thanks, Courtney!
Intense! You look absolutely beautiful in that shade. I like that the shimmer really comes through. Some look shimmery only in super close-up mode, but not this.
Thank you, Trisha!
I love this color! I’m going to get it tomorrow since I planned a trip to Sephora. I have 5 of these lipstick already and they’re awesome. I get 5 hours of wear even while eating and drinking frequently.
I love this shade. I’m glad you’re doing browns, and reds (sultry colors). I don’t like those pale lipstick shades. I love all of these colors that you are doing.
Is this really color #13? Sephora’s website calls it “pearly plum.” But your pictures don’t look anything like that color to me. Maybe Sephora’s pictures are bad.
Yup! Really #13
I love this color. Truly loving the sultry season!
Gorgeous color!!!
wow.
NO.13 is a plum. If you go on Sephora under Makeup Forever which one of the reds is the one. There is a metallic red, but there is also a berry red. The line —————–off the top of my head———- has 5 or 6 reds. I assume it is metallic red which is a different no.
No, this is the correct shade. I have the lipstick and the label says #13.
TO Christina..thanks for setting me straight on the lipstick color by Makeup Forever. Margo.
No problem! I was like, “What?!” because I always take a pic of the label so I don’t make mistakes, lol!
Hi again. I had my daughter order the #13 Makeup For Ever Rouge Artist Intense Lipstick from Sephora. It was delivered. She got #13 and it was the plum that Sephora pictured and discribed. I am really confused. We just want this metallic red that is featured on this blog.
Does your daughter have naturally pigmented lips? I wonder if that’s why!
Well Christine. You have to be right because I went onto another blog and saw the swatch on a hand and this “plum” came out swatched the same color of what would be the contents of the #13 tube. oh well. will just drop it. it did look lovely on you.
Kat Von D Adora lipstick is a very metallic red (and described as such) – http://www.sephora.com/browse/product.jhtml?id=P265704
It looks beautiful on you Christine! How would you compare this one to Mac’s New York Apple. Thanks!
It’s similar – I would say this is a little more berry.
