Magellan Says... Rules For the Best Slumber Party Ever!

Daddy and Uncle are going to Las Vegas for Uncle’s birthday, and my cousin Ender (a 2 year old Shiba/Eskie mix) is staying with Mommy and me for the next four days! It’s a puppy slumber party! I loveeeee slumber parties!

(Note from Mom:  It’s Memorial Day, so hopefully you are all having fun with friends and family, while I dogsit two beasts!)

Now, if you want to sleep over at my place, you have to follow these rules! (OK, some of them are Mom-enforced.)

Make sure you look your very, very, very best! I just had a super grooming session a few days before, plus Mom made me wash my hair right before company was coming over.

.

.

.

.

.

I have six more rules to tell you about!
Clean up… Convince the vacuum is not doing its job and to work harder to clean up the play area so we can have fun dirtying it up again!

.

.

.

.

.

.

.

Put out all the goodies so that everybody can play with the toys.  But hopefully there’ll be enough to go around!

.

.

.

.

.

.

Stock up on nummo treats, because what’s a party without the snacks?  I like Oreos (the kind for dogs, yeesh!) myself.

.

.

.

.

.

Designate a spot for your pals to sleep… and hope they don’t steal your brand new puppy bed that Mom bought.

.

.

.

.

.

Greet everybody enthusiastically, like long last pals! Even if they don’t seem to appreciate it.

.

.

.

.

.

PLAY, PLAY, and PLAY some more, and just because someone yells “Enough” doesn’t mean it’s time to stop.

.

.

.

.

.

And then, take a longgg nap, so that you can PLAY, PLAY, and PLAY some more later!

Magellan looks so handsome! He’s grown fast too! Enjoy your doggie slumber party and remember: A good dog is a tired dog! 😀
Do you ever take Magellan to a MAC store? The Pro store on Union knows my dog Brodie better than me I think; they never forget his name. They are really dog friendly there; one employee was even playing chase with Brodie (pug-mix so he isn’t so big he can knock displays over) while I was picking out Pigments.
Anyway, have fun and a great Memorial Day!

Oh, Nell… You wouldn’t believe how much I need some nerves (um, patience, actually – perhaps some migraine meds, too!). Ender (the dog I’m sitting) is totally neurotic, and he is the most anxious being I’ve ever met. Sigh, he’s teaching Mellan all these bad habits!

Looks like fun, fun, FUN! I know you had fun Magellan! I can see that you’re all pooped out sprawling (last pic) so comfortably for your nap. Hope you didn’t give Mom too much trouble!!!

Christine, how did you manage? I sometimes help to take care of my sis’ 2 dogs, and I’m always so tired after that! And someone’s such a big (and handsome!) boy now!

Fun for them… for me? Not so much! LOL.

It’s day two of four, and I’m not even sure I’ll make it to day four! Ender (the guest-dog) is completely neurotic–entirely anxious/tense 24/7 and barks at every little noise (and ones that don’t exist). I imagine I’ll be getting a “get rid of that dog or else” notice from my landlord, LOL.

You are a peach to take care of your sister’s two dogs! Dogs can be such a handful — especially when they’re not your own!!

I love my sister’s dogs! So I’m not so much a peach, lol. They’re like…my boyfriends, except that they like to poop and pee at the wrong places (still!) and jump all over me when I hold their lease in my hand.

I understand your neurotic dog situation. My neighbour just got a new puppy and its barks and growls at every little noise. And yes, I can hear it growl from my house!
