MAC x Teyana Taylor Collection for July 2020

Release Date + About the Launch
She’s one of the most versatile entertainers of her generation. An R&B superstar. Dancer. Choreographer. Actress. Model. Mother. Fitness aficionado. Songwriter. Producer. Director. And now, M·A·C collaborator. Unstoppable force Teyana Taylor channels her creativity, strength and sense of purpose into Spring 2020’s most hotly anticipated makeuplaunch.
The collaboration came naturally. Taylor embodies artistry boldly, originally and without boundaries, tapping into the heart of M·A·C. She’s also a longtime advocate for the LGBTQIA+ community, which she credits with embracing her at the start of her career. And long before her stardom, Taylor was an avid fan of M·A·C. Starting at age 15, she began mixing, matching and playing with M·A·C products to develop her own bespoke finishes, colours and textures.
That love for experimentation is at the core of M·A·C Teyana Taylor. The collection takes a refreshing approach to beauty – encouraging Taylor’s fans to create their own version of her style and vibe rather than copy looks. M·A·C Artists recommend mixing and remixing the shades each of Lipstick, Lipglass and Lip Pencil for custom looks on every skintone. Wear them alone, combine or layer in tribute to Teyana’s sense of creative adventure.
“Style, confidence and versatility as an artist are just a few of her superpowers,” says New York Based Senior National Artist Fatima Thomas, who has worked with Taylor. “They’re translated into this collection, with lip treats for every style mood.” Those chameleonic abilities are undeniable in the video for Taylor’s 2019 hit, ‘How You Want It,’ showcasing deep chocolates and caramel nudes on lips.
Thomas picks up on the vibe: “My fave combo is Lip Pencil in Hodgepodge and Lipstick in I Got A Man, topped with Lipglass in But Ain’t Got No Manners,” she says. But Mineralize Skinfinish, Taylor’s self-confessed favourite product, might be the star of this show. It all comes housed in electrically bright neon packaging –a reflection of her signature out-there style and a nod to the 90s, channeling the art and soul of this Harlem native.

Loving the Grace Jones vibes from this!
I was grasping for who this reminded me of and when I read your post I knew what my mind had been searching for. Loved Grace back in the day. I can remember her performance in a James Bond movie and her long legs. She was super tall, as I am sure you know, and they oiled her legs and had her in a swim suit type garment. Her legs went on for days. Such a beautiful woman.
That’s what I thought, too! She looks stunning.
Yes! Grace Jones vibes, for real! The woman who inspired me to get very adventurous with my eyeshadow and blush placement and colors back in the early 80’s. Grace Jones, Siouxsie Sioux, and Boy George get credit for that.
Omg I’m so excited!!! I’ve been a fan of hers since MTV’s My Super Sweet Sixteen and she had her dress made by Heatherette, who also collaborated with MAC. So happy for her!!
Very curious to see the product shades incoming, since it says that she “boldly embraces artistry”!
Love Teyana Taylor! I look forward to seeing how this collaboration comes out.
Something fun! Love Teyana’s style. The shade names are bound to be cute, hopefully there will be a Junnie.
I can’t wait to see what Teyana comes out with in her upcoming collection with MAC! I know the shades should work for me since she’s just a little deeper in skin tone than me.
I pray pray pray this is one of MAC’s good LE collections. Please don’t do Teyana dirty MAC.
I love Teyana, she really knows how to work those 90s and early 2000s r&b vibes into her own idiosyncratic style. My favourite song has to be “How you gonna love me”. I hope the same creativity will go into this collection! Really looking forward to it and hope this is going to be available in Europe and soon too!
How I’d liked that the eyepencils had matched the colour of their packages. Instead are classical colour
Me too, I thought these would be neon eyeliners – I’d love that!
This collection is definitely rocking my world! I’m hoping and praying that the purple lipstick, Junie Bee, has great quality and applies evenly. It is beautiful looking in the tube.
I’m also excited for the Skinfinish in House Of Petunia!
Oh, this skinfinish reminds me so much of the iconic New Vegas. I can’t wait to see how it swatches!
