Also, I’m wishing and hoping and praying that one of the MAC holiday collections includes a repromote of Whisper of Gilt! I need a new one and that thing is selling for $400 and up on eBay!!! Pure insanity. I think that may be the biggest markup for a beauty product I’ve ever seen. No, make that the highest price for any single beauty product I’ve ever seen period.

Please, please MAC bring back Whisper of Gilt! This time, at $30-something each, I’ll buy a couple!

Are you kidding me???? $400? They crazy if they think anyone in their right mind would pay $400 for a product, have they gone mad! #hungergames

I know, it’s ridiculous at that point. I don’t think anyone wants a highlighter THAT BAD. Besides, for that kind a money, I’d have wiggle room and them some to look into luxury highlighters that may even be better!!!

The packaging certainly looks luxurious (kind of like YSL packaging, although I’m not a big fan of that), but I find it completely out of keeping with Prabal Gurung’s image. All of his fashions are very modern, sleek and sporty in some sense. This looks completely out of step with the brand.

LOL I just made a comment to that effect. I totally thought it was YSL at first glance. Maybe they thought the chain link design made it edgy?

Aye, this is more in line with the classic couture brands like Dior or Chanel. Something more impressionistic would have worked better with the Gurung image.

ABSOLUTELY love the packaging. I have not been a fan of past holiday collections as the product its self is crappy. Lets have some hope this year. Actually excited to start seeing all the holiday sets popping up. Any new on Tarte, Hourglass ??

Hahah I agree with ya there, I’m passing on so much of the upcoming collection it’s not even funny, the only one I’m anticipating is the retro matte collection

The blush on the right looks super cute! Hope it’s not toooo pricy and gets a good rating! However, I am little surprised by the packaging. I get what they were trying to do with the luxe gold color for the holidays, but the style is not at all in sync with Prabal Gurung’s brand. I was hoping for something for along the lines of colors and cool ModArt.

The packaging is pretty, but the price? I’m not sure I want to pay that much for a MAC product, especially when you could get Givenchy, Dior and Lancome – even Tom Ford! – at the same price range.

No thanks, MAC!

Always pass on these… I just don’t think fancy packaging is worth the dramatic price increases. Would rather pick up a Nars, YSL or Chanel product instead.

At first glance, I thought this was YSL. Gorgeous packaging. I’m not real familiar with Prabal Gurung. Isn’t his clothing more modern and streamlined? Pretty packaging: Good. Having it be mistaken for someone else’s brand: Not good.

Seriously, YSL PRICEPOINT for a relatively unknown designer’s MAC makeup? How can he compare himself with YSL or CL? Singapore is my neighbour country and I have never heard of him before today.

I would be happier paying for a Dior/Lancome/Givenchy/Guerlain…. heck even BB instead!

Fishnet chain link fencing pattern, huh, who’d have thought? I wish I could say this looks sporty, sexy and luxe but to me it just looks confused and like it’s trying way too hard.

I have been really disappointed in and haven’t purchased MAC for at least the last couple of years – they have some really great basics but they don’t make up for the mediocre (or downright appalling) LE or certain collection offerings.

I WOULD LIKE SOME (OK, A LOT) OF CONSISTENCY PLEASE, MAC.

I may never “need” another red lipstick, but this looks tempting. Still, it’s just a promo photo, so it’s hard to tell. The Lipgloss looks good too, I think the packaging looks best on it.
Will be interesting to see the reviews.
