Not too excited about this collection. I am afraid it’ll lack quality, especially those eyeshadow quads. And why are all the lipsticks Frost’s? I really want Amplified lipsticks instead of those sheer things.

Ruca Avatar

I found a pigment that is gone in the US but available in the UK so I wrote MAC an email asking how the heck I can get it, and if I can use my Pro discount. I got a speedy reply telling me anyone can order anything from anywhere by calling the mail order division. Give your local MAC Online a call and ask how you might go about mail ordering Pro products from the US, because if US consumers can mail order UK merchandise, I guarantee it works both ways. Where there’s a will, there’s a way!

Sarah Avatar

Ooh that sounds good I might try that, sometimes I think about buying off eBay but its so hard to trust with all the fakes out there! Thanks girls 🙂

Ruca Avatar

I can only speak for myself, but I have several lustre lipsticks that have strong pigmentation, and I love them! Dish It Up, Fire Sign, Tart & Trendy… all excellent pigment. Flamingo & Venus are a bit more sheer, but still beautiful. These are all LE, but there are many lovely perm lustre colors with excellent pigment, such as Plumful (as you mentioned) or Lady Bug. I have a few lustres that are too sheer, but overall it’s something of a myth that lustres are not well pigmented. I bet the darker shades in this collection will be very nice!

Monica! Avatar

Thanks Annika and Rucca! I just noticed I do have one lustre lipstick, Gem of roses released last year if I am not mistaken. I like it quite a lot! I don’t use it very often since it was LE, but I will check out Plumful. Dreaming dahlia looks cute too 😀

Amanda Koker Avatar

The eyeshadow pinwheels were released in Asia more than a year ago. I know this for a fact because I had two of them and gave them away.

My friend will do the happy dance when she knows cause she loves them!!!!

xamyx Avatar

I have one from a long time ago, and it’s horrible… I’m a big fan of mineralized shadows, and the singles are great, but the quad doesn’t work.

A Name Avatar

I love the look of that green fluidline! Though not enough to justify getting it, I rarely wear coloured eyeliner, and that one looks a bit too cool for my skintone. 🙁 I wish the lipsticks weren’t lustre – though good for my wallet I guess.

Donna Avatar

The quad eyeshadows look interesting, but I’m wondering if the colors can stay separate, they look as though they want to jumble up and party together. It will be interesting to see the swatches.

Emily Avatar

I’ll probably check out the lipsticks. I’m a fan of the lustre finishes. I love sheerer lip colors, because it’s not very often that I actually wear lipstick.

tzwiggy Avatar

OMG! These products are right up my alley!!!

*Lustre is my favorite MAC lipstick formula
*Cremesheen Glass is my favorite MAC lipgloss formula
*Perfect Topping and Stereo Rose are two of my very favorite MSFs
*I LOVE mineralize llushes
*Purple and green are my favorite makeup colors, need those fluidlines!

The only products I know for sure that I’ll be skipping are the brushes and nail polishes. Fingers crossed for good quality!

Kate Avatar

I like the look of the yellow pigment and I might get one of the pink-purple lipsticks. I’m reserving judgment on the Fluidlines until I see them in action. The green one looks just like the one that was released a couple of years ago that just could not be made opaque.

Danielle Avatar

This collection seems decent, although I do wish the eye shadows weren’t mineralized. I’m not a huge Lustre fan when it comes to lipsticks, but there are a few shades that caught my eye. And I’m definitely excited for the MSFs.

Lee Avatar

I’m excited about the lipsticks, I love cool pinks and find lusters so wearable on days you don’t need intense color. Not excited about much else, I still have a Perfect Topping from the original release and Stereo Rose always seemed over hyped. And I feel like I’m the only one who can’t stand mineralize eye shadows. They always look faded and smudgy on, not like they look in the pan.

Kelsey Avatar

Why oh why didn’t they include Fresh Salmon in their lustre lipstick selections!?! Every spring release it doesn’t get re promoted I die a little inside.

I might pick up Galaxy Rose, but the rest is kind of a bust for me.

Genevieve Avatar

I feel the same way about Gem of Roses- I missed it and have been kicking myself for it since. Every MAC launch, I look for a repromote- every lipstick review, I look for a dupe. So far I’ve been s.o.l. So, I feel your pain:(

Hannah Avatar

Very sad collection! SO much pink it’s to the point of boring.. I get it with the color of the year and all, everything’s going to be shades of purple, but I don’t think we need any more pink lippies from MAC!

Mariella Avatar

GEEZ, if they can bring back all that other stuff, why can’t they please, please repromote Jardin Aires pigment, which would be perfect with the “fantasy of flowers” theme. Ditto Subtle Breeze mineralize blush. I made the mistake of buying Early Morning and it’s just too peachy to be a fave but oh how I love the finish and I’d so love to have that finish in the more pink tone of Subtle Breeze. I’ll be interested to see it, at least, and to read your reviews, Christine. Unlike a lot of people, I’m a bit of sucker for a lot of the Mineralized eye shadows and blushes.

Kristen Avatar

This is the first MAC collection that has interested me in over a year. Perfect Topping?! I LOVE Perfect Topping, I’m all over that MSF! And I need that purple fluidline… Yes, need LOL.

Lisa Avatar

I budgeted for this collection and I’m quite disappointed. I hate Lustre finish lipsticks. Seems like the only thing I’ll be grabbing from this collection are two of the Cremesheens.

Savannah Avatar

Three things: 1. I’m confused as to why they decided to reuse the name Lily White for a different pigment. I have one from a holiday set from long time ago with the same name that is a super light warm pink. Same name/different color doesn’t make sense. 2. I wish they would make new MSF instead of constantly repromoting old colors. Not fun for those of us who LOVE the product but have a bunch of them. 3. They have tried those quad mineralize shadows before and they never work. Not enough space to get a brush in each individual shade and also, if you drop it…one of them will inevitably shatter since they aren’t anchored very well.
That said…I think I might really like the blush, hopefully the color pay off is as great as it can be with mineralize blush.

Stephanie Avatar

I’m kind of freaking out over here bc I LOVE PERFECT TOPPING 🙂 finished my original one years ago and have been waiting patiently for a repromote 😀

Andrea Avatar

I am quite excited about this collection. 🙂 Although I am not a fan of frosted lipsticks, maybe this will be worth a try and a new addition to everyone’s collection. I just hope they release it here in the Philippines. 🙂

Lindsey Avatar

I feel like the eyeshadow quads don’t match the collection AT ALL!! They are totally different colors than anything else in the collection, including the fluidlines, nor are they flowery spring colors in any way in my mind… The colors remind me of the YSL quads, only not as pretty. I would’ve made some pretty florally shadows, maybe incorporating flowers into the shadows themselves, like make them have a flower etched into the top, or use different colors as different petals? Idk… I think they could’ve done better on the shadows. I am excited about the repromote of the mineralized skin finishes though, Perfect Topping and Stereo Rose. I love the other 3 MSF that I have! The blushes also look beautiful. I also have the 187 duo fibre brush, and I like it ok, but I want to get a different foundation brush because it leaves my face streaky unless I use it with the MAC foundation I bought it to go with, so I have to blend it out with my hands or a sponge afterward. Maybe it would be better used for a different purpose like blush or bronzer. I want to try the Sigma brushes and the Beauty Blender.

Ruca Avatar

My two favorite finishes are MATTE and LUSTRE so this collection has me rather giddy! I have had a lot of slip issues with Amplified and Cremesheen finishes. Mattes are the best for excellent pigmentation and long wear on me, although my beloved Retro Mattes are less than comfortable in short order. Lustres often offer more pigment than we expect, but they rarely look splotchy, or need a lot of effort to keep on straight. Some of my favorite LE lipsticks have been lustres, such as Flamingo, Fire Sign, and Venus. They are the perfect lipstick for a pop of color on a light makeup day, and you can easily put them on in a car without worrying you’ll look like a clown in the supermarket.

The MSFs are favorites of mine, although I’m surprised to see Stereo Rose AGAIN… I need to check, but this may be it’s 7th promotion since 2005. Maybe more? This is the first repromote for Perfect Topping, so that’s a little exciting.

2 of the pigments are permanent, but they’re also amazing. I want to grab the 2 LE shades, as well as the 2 flashy Fluidlines, especially since most of the LE fluidlines I’ve seen the past 2 years have been painfully disappointing. The glitter-bomb Fluidlines are the worst! If these are smooth and pigmented, they’re going to be so worth it. Worth backing up, even.

Cremesheen Glass… ugh. They love to slip those in with Mineralize collections, don’t they? Waste of time, waste of money, waste of space. I can’t help but wish they would either just go with regular glass or even Dazzleglass, or maybe just develop a new product to peddle since these are sort of like glorified lipbalms in my opinion, but I suppose someone must be liking them or else they wouldn’t sell (and they do seem to sell, don’t they?). I’m just about as excited as anyone can get over a MAC collection, especially since I just got that Punk Couture mess, and I hated the lipsticks so much, I didn’t have it in me to blog a review of them. Maybe I will now that they’re sold out so anyone who missed them won’t feel so bad. LOL!

Thanks for the sexy promo shots! These are definitely awesome Spring colors! 😀

Yana Avatar

Not sure if I’ll get anything other than the fluidline. The cremesheen lipglosses are a disappointment considering that I have three of them already, which Galaxy Rose is also a repromote shade. I’m really sick of the mineralize collections. I wish they would come out with something completely new already like they did with the huggable lipsticks. I really love those. The last time I was amazingly impressed with their eyeshadows was when they came out with the Electric cool collection (this doesn’t include any of their regular eyeshadows that come out as limited editions because those are always amazing).

Yana Avatar

I love cremesheens. I either meet people that like them or really really hate them. I found this one girl that reviews make-up and she is very blunt, none of that wishy washy I kind of like it because I expected I would attitude. She will get the cremesheens to test out and she always hates them. My best friend hates them too. It’s understandable considering how expensive they are.

Ruca Avatar

You know, when I got the 5 Cremesheens with the Heavenly Creature collection 2012 (when Galaxy Rose was introduced), I was rather excited. I even liked the colors, although I was rather disappointed in the pigmentation and wear. I tried the “I’ll just reapply more frequently” approach and they all quickly dropped to 3/4 inch of visible empty space at the tops, and I hadn’t even worn one out of my home, yet! That’s around the time I saw one of Christine’s Youtube channel videos, and she detailed the problems she has with this glass: approx 50% of the product for $5 more than standard glass. My first reaction was, “This can’t be so! The tubes are twice as big!” so I examined the packaging and realized the Cremesheens are in a very thick-walled fancy plastic that simulates glass, but only has a tiny drinking straw worth of space inside, barely big enough for the doe-foot applicator. Suddenly, I felt really angry with MAC for taking advantage of my attraction to pretty packaging which outweighs my instinct to read labels to see how much product I’m getting! Perhaps if this were a lipstick that were being shorted .5 grams which won’t affect me much if I’m only wearing it out a few times a month/year, but for a gloss that needs so much reapplication? UNFAIR! I can’t replace them if I use them up, and they’ll be gone after wearing them out perhaps 3 times total. I can get similar but better color out of Lustre lipsticks, which are much kinder to the wallet, so I just don’t see much point to these things.

BUT, I recognize that some people only care about the colors, the glitters, and the formula’s comfort factor. Not everywhere will care about these low pigmentation issues as I do, or the weight to price ratio. For anyone who ignores those factors and just likes them for what they are? It’s not a bad product at all, I just wish they didn’t have to buy so many backups of such an expensive product should they actually like the LE color. 😉

Yana Avatar

I agree with you about the fact that you get so little product. I never bought cremesheen lipglasses before and galaxy rose was my first as well. I ordered it only and was very surprised by the glass tube because you could see there’s basically a smaller glass tube inside the glass tube. I don’t have that many of them but whenever they release a nude color or a light pink (Calypso Beat or Japanese Spring), I get that because the lipsticks in those colors are to opaque and are too light for my skin while the cremesheen lipglasses are semi-sheer, still have that color but they’re not too bold.

Danielle Sweet-Reyes Avatar

Just a heads up you can buy Stereo Rose on Macy’s website right now. It’s also 29 instead of 30…don’t know if this is a glitch but thought some might like to know

Ruca Avatar

Lately, they have been pre-releasing these things at department store as the latest experiment to deal with the pro discount people. We used to get releases 10 days early, but those who abuse it would cause items to sell out before public releases. Then they took our discount away for 2 weeks post-release, but this is unfair too, since we pay an annual membership fee, and everything would sell out by the time we got the discount. Most makeup artists don’t earn much, which is why we get the discount in the first place. We are supposed to be promoting their collections and on a meager MUA income, there had to be incentive for us to buy the new stuff or else we only promote core products. It’s unfair to punish honest people pro or non-pro because of these eBay sharks… pre-release to department stores then allowing pro discounts the day of release seems to be the most effective plan so far! Anyone who wants in early can get it without eBay, the pro accounts don’t whine about being forced into full price or missing out, and no one can whine that the pros get an unfair advantage with an early access AND a discount. Seems reasonable to me, although I do miss getting my stuff a week before release. I only want honest people, pro and non-pro, to all have first shot at these things, NOT those eBay sharks! It’s so unfair to see the color you’re waiting for snatched up by the dozen and dumped in eBay as “sold out” for $60-$100! (Pros are called at 4 items too, so those purple are violating the contract… we are also not permitted to resell, so eBay people lose the contract ands are banned for life when busted). No MAC lipstick is worth $100! Let’s see if the department store pre-release works… they did this with Punk Couture, too.

Yana Avatar

I happened to see just 1 picture of some swatches for the lipstick. The purple colors were a lot less purple and more pink and the other three were all orangish colors. Dreaming Dahlia was probably the only one that’s true to it’s color. Assuming that someone posted the right swatches.

melissa Avatar

I love all the lipstick colors! Lustres are my fav! When will swatches be available? Or what colors can you recommend for me, fair skin {NW2O} but not sure about my undertones BC I always get different answers about that {I think I’m warm, but MAC Counter at Macy’s said cool}, long straight brown hair w/blonde highlights, hazel eyes. Thanks in advance.

Emily Avatar

So, not that I’m not interested to check out this collection, but does anyone know if Mac is partnering with someone this year, like Archie Comics last year or Disney the year before? I’ve been really excited to see what the promotion is this year, and I can’t help but be disappointed if it’s just… “Fantasy of Flowers”. Anyone know if there will be another?
