MAC Duck Powerpoint Eye Pencil Review, Photos, Swatches

MAC Duck Powerpoint Eye Pencil

MAC Duck Powerpoint Eye Pencil ($15.00 for 0.04 oz.) is described as a “soft grey brown.” It doesn’t read gray at all to me; it’s more of a warm-toned, medium-dark brown with hints of red in the base. It has no shimmer, so the finish tends to look more matte on the lash line. Chanel Brun-Teak is similar but darker. MAC Brownborder is also similar and only slightly darker.

MAC’s Powerpoint Eye Pencils are designed to be long-wearing, water-, transfer, smudge-, and budge-proof. Duck has a really creamy consistency and great glide for easy, tug-free application on the eye. It’s fairly pigmented in a single pass, and it can be layered without worry about “erasing” parts of the color. Some of the shades in this formula have a waxier base, so when you go back and forth, it seems like you’re removing some of the color, but not with this particular shade. I’ve had good wear experiences with this formula; typically, they wear for eight hours and are mostly visible at that point, but they can withstand humidity and some water, and I didn’t have any smudging issues.

My all time favourite brown pencil. So sad I lost mine!! I’m waiting to either get to a counter (none in my city) or when the website has more in stock to order.

To me, this is a “greyer” brown than any brown I’ve had. It’s definitely cooler and not rich like most other browns.

I really, really like this brown. I think it’s a little harder to find a lighter brown eyeliner that has a good formula.

I wonder if this would make a good eyebrow filling pencil as well. If it does, I may pick it up and have a nice travel bag stash. Finally getting a vacation next week and I plan to have a very muted makeup selection.

I have used this for my brows for several years now 🙂 I’ve had everything from dark brown to a golden blonde, and nothing suits my brows quite as well as duck does 🙂

That is such a weird/crappy chives of name for colour. When I hear duck in the context of colour I think of duck egg blue straight away.
